    Quinn is complicated . I would say that everything she posted this game is normal for her, including the light-hearted tone (although I didn't read her elim game too closely). It's worth knowing that in the last LG she and I were both village and were at each other's throats up until the point she was essentially confirmed village (and she still suspected me after that). Also, I'd encourage you to vote sooner rather than later (even if it's on me ). Nobody will take you voting on them as a personal attack, and the sooner there is pressure on players, the sooner the real fun starts. There's a bit of a trend in SE, at least in the first couple of cycles, where the person who's name is mentioned the most tends to die because everyone who hasn't voted at cycle end skims the thread, sees "I think X is suspicious, but can't really say why" several times, and then votes on X. On a similar note, it would be nice to see a vote from @Azmine_king, in addition to the helpful contributions.

    I totally agree with the start of this sentence. Everyone should vote because someone has to die. My stating that is supposed to encourage other people to realize that they should be voting as well. Not necessarily to justify the vote itself (although that does motive the vote), since as we seem to agree, that bit should be obvious. I actually felt kind of limited in who I was comfortable voting for in that post. Multiple new players this game, and lots of people I’d usually like to see live into the later turns. Jondesu is returning and it’s been ages since I’ve played with him. Speaking of, @Jondesu, welcome back! It was random out of Dannex/Gears/Randby/Books.

    I think you guys are reading too much into my mindset of these games. Like, the fact someone has to die is the primary motivation for me to vote (I mean has to die in terms of information, rather than mechanics, both here and earlier). If my hands are going to be dirty either way, best have it be on my own terms. I feel like this is something I have expressed many times before. Again, I’m also the person that coined the term Stab Vote in the first place, in protest against poke votes. It is my firm belief that for quite some time I’ve not placed an “activity poke”. A lot of the time my first vote is on one of the first players that posts. Someone’s gotta die, and as of now I’ll be perfectly content to leave my vote on Dannex through cycle end as my input on that matter.

    I thought it was sort of implied from my reputation that my earlier post was a Stab(TM) Vote. I tried adding a bit of justification to make that clear. Vote’s not coming off just because Dannex posts or something. Only if I feel like there’s a better place. And really, guys. D1 votes are always easy to change with little reasoning. It’s, well, D1. Anyways, please don’t encourage me to go down the tunnel of elim!Quinn trying to take me out with the vote again. That went really we for us last game, didn’t it? I suppose it’s good that people aren’t relying on my reputation too much, since I’m still trying to run as hard as I can from those games where I bussed my pals. I kinda just skimmed the thread, and will give more thoughts later, but wanted to make a meta point now about activity levels. Basically, try not to flood the thread with super intimidating posts. I think posting the same stuff is fine, but using spoilers might make the thread easier to follow for people who are just trying to get a feel for what’s going on.

    After a long think, I’m pretty sure I’ll have more fun watching one of the other nominees than I would if I played myself. I’m also not sure I could keep up with a fast paced game, given how little I participated in my last QF.

    This game was pretty awesome, so thanks to Mat for GMing! To Striker (and a lesser extent, Quinn), my apologies for the tunnel. This game should be a reminder to all of us that confirmed wrong does not mean confirmed evil. I managed to convince myself that the elims were trying to vote me off, and that by extension one of you two had to be elim. Or both of you. But faulty assumptions lead to faulty conclusions. Hopefully I slightly redeemed myself by figuring things out in the end. To Quinn, I guess you should take note that elim!Araris is a bit more rational than village!Araris, at least early in the game. Because basically every inconsistency you mentioned was totally valid. A couple of comments on the game: First, I have rather mixed feelings about the HP doc. It didn't really seem to add more to then game than a public vote would have, especially since there wasn't a whole lot of argument over what events should actually happen. At the same time, since over half the game was in the doc, there wasn't much incentive to use it to chat about things. I guess I'd like to hear Mat's thoughts on what the purpose of the doc was, but I think it might be worth changing something With regards to the items, I'd like to hear other thoughts on these, but my main thought was that the knife was overpriced, and the second was that the items seemed to be kind of overpowered toward the end of the game (although they didn't end up having much effect), when a villager surviving a NK or an elim surviving the grinch would change the outcome. Again, I'm not sure if I have a great suggestion on what to change here, but it's probably worth putting some thoughts into. On the topic of my Plan, which I sort of gave up on. This was just a joke that also had the secondary intent of bringing attention to a minor concern I've had, with regards to pre-game analysis posts made after a game has started. While I don't mind such posts in and of themselves, the community seems to have decided that they cannot be alignment indicative. My "Plan" was supposed to bring attention to this by showing the absurdity of asking someone to take by faith the claim that certain posts were NAI since they were written pre-game. To elaborate, consider a pre-written role analysis post. I could easily write 2 such posts, one geared toward helping elims, and one that is village-minded. Upon the start of the game, I post the one corresponding to my team. Since I am posting a wall of text within minutes of the start of the day, everyone assumes the post is NAI, when in fact it isn't. The TLDR is that no post should be immune to scrutiny, and to any votes that might result from that scrutiny. Edit: Some comments about things from the dead doc: I appreciate that pink has become my color so much that Striker felt like he was impersonating me . The thing in the HP doc where I mentioned a calc 3 class was a deliberate red herring (although factually correct). For those who don't know, I'm a grad student, so I was TAing the course. I read what Quinn said about me being an elim, and yeah, everything she said was correct, and I probably should have realized that she was coming at me from a much more rational standpoint than "elim that wants me dead". I'll write up something about activity later. My main thought is that Connie probably shouldn't have signed up to pinch-hit this game, given her activity levels. Or at least should have declined actually stepping in. And I think I agree that there is value in the more vocal players limiting how much they post to some degree to make it easier for others to engage. You can only have so much back-and-forth that is productive. I think in this game a PM with myself, Striker, and Quinn would have been a much better place for most of the D4 discussion than the thread was.

    Okay, so other than myself, we have Forge, Connie, Books, and TJ. I'm pretty sure Forge is Dalinar (must be myself, Books, or Forge, isn't me, and Books didn't claim to survive), and since it is (again) GryLo, I figure there isn't much harm in putting that out there. So I need to judge the 3 possible remaining teams: 1. Connie/TJ 2. Connie/Books 3. Books/TJ I've argued quite ferociously that Books is village this game, but I'm way less sure now. The main things I can think about TJ are that he didn't want to grinch Books or Striker last cycle, and he thought that Ash would be the most likely to be elim on the C3 Whysper vote. But The votes on Elandera during C4 were TJ, Ash, Striker, and Books. I sort of doubt that 3 elims would vote together like that, which makes me not like team option 3. I know I've gotten myself into trouble by assuming things about where elims will and won't vote this game, but I'm at least pushed in that direction. If Books/TJ are not e/e, then Connie must be elim. And I'd probably lean towards Connie/Books over Connie/TJ at this point. In part because of basically everything Striker and Whysper brought up in favor of killing Books (although I need to see if the flip on Ash changes any of that), and in part because of TJ's comment I mentioned above. I'll have to see if I have the energy to actually go back and do rereads of things sometime tomorrow or Tuesday.

    Oh yeah. Food for thought, but it might be worth having Dalinar claim. I think I already know who he is, but it rules out an option for Quinn to worry about roleblocking.

    Yeah :/ If we weren't 1 away from parity, I'd be wishing to KO myself to remove the distraction. But I'll do my best to convince everyone that the last elims are elsewhere.

    Well, I managed to convince a bunch of villagers (and you) to kill off the king of Alethkar. that's probably the most notable event on my week, although I can't say how it impacts the quality of my week, exactly. I guess Ruthar just wanted revenge for his future self having an unfortunate encounter with a different monarch of the same family.

    Yeah, I'd agree with Quinn here that we should play things safe. If we grinch both an elim and a villager, then Quinn would have to get another successful roleblock to stop the game from ending. Or everyone would have had to buy Armor last night. Which Quinn obviously didn't.

    I can buy Ash being elim. As I mentioned last cycle, he’s the person that voted Whysper C3 that I am most concerned about. I’m also fairly comfortable with Quinn being village at this point, after giving things a think during the night.

    Actually, since we had the crisis, there's no way anyone could have planned ahead. I'm just saying that there is a miniscule possibility that we haven't lost yet, and we might as well take that into account and get some armor now. Edit: Whoops, financial crisis was 3 cycles back. So there quite possibly are several people who have armor right now.

    Okay. I sort of got the impression that the two of you were in a PM from your final post last cycle. On the off chance the game somehow doesn’t end after the night turn (requires Quinn to roleblock the kill or there to only be 2 elims left), I’d encourage people to buy armor. I think most people should be able to afford a set both tonight and next night, which would give us one free extra misgrinch.

    I'm kind of confused as to why Striker didn't claim earlier. It may not have helped convince me, but it might have saved his life. @Quintessential, I'm still not sure I understand your interactions with Striker. Could you explain? I was fairly sure that Dalinar would back me up, since he did on C3.
