I’m not going to be on for rollover, so I suppose I’ll vote Striker Stick. I know that’s not what Stick wants, I’m sort of ambivalent about the two but not a fan of voting alongside Mat. I also don’t like Mat’s defense of Stick, it seems too insistent for D1. I also agree with Thaid’s take on waiting to Fang for a bit, and actually that it would be ideal if we never needed to use it.

I missed Mat’s list and Xino has fewer people in his by 1. I’m also not sure why I, under any alignment/circumstance, would “reach” to vote on you when I already had a vote out. Unless I’m e/e with you or with Mat I suppose.

@Archer, when I said “against me”, I meant “against my take on a potential D1 Fang”.

I'm not sure you've made an argument against me here. Maybe one in favor of consolidating votes a bit toward the end, given a likely larger elim team, but I would push for that anyway, to avoid a mess like the D1 and D2 of the last MR. Nope, you've got me all wrong. My soul (or whatever occupies that missing space) is elim through and through.

I’m arguing for using the Fang on D2 or D3 if we are still able to. Which was what I had in mind when I was thinking about the concept; using it to stop a sweep where the village is clueless. And your second statement doesn’t make sense. Parity doesn’t matter until the game ends, so it certainly isn’t relevant on D1 or even D2. I would also argue that exing an elim D1 often hurts the village, because of how uninformed the village is when voting (note I’m definitely not saying we still shouldn’t try). Using the Fang D1 isn’t quite the same, but it’s close, and it comes with the additional disadvantage of not having any discussion relevant to the removed player.

Alain sat on a rocky outcrop overlooking Helgen, pondering the day's events as he took a midday meal. Discussion was rife among the townsfolk, but Alain hadn't really heard himself mentioned. Some of that was surely deliberate; he wasn't known for bandying words, and always got the impression that he intimidated people a bit. Others, like that oddly named fellow Xino, didn't even seem to think he existed. The fact that someone had been murdered didn't change the fact that folk still needed lumber and game, so Alain wasn't about to stop his work, even if it meant he wasn't around town much. Besides, there were far fewer... distractions out here. There was something about Helgen these days that made it hard to think straight. Maybe it was just being near people he'd grown up with all his life, knowing that some of them wanted him dead. Knowing that some of them, he'd need to kill. Moving from Mat to Striker, I know he's sick and also got voted out D1 in the QF (which is why I voted Mat earlier), but there are too many names in that good list for my liking. Both Mat and Striker have argued for a D1 Fang, which I firmly believe is in the elims' favor (it guarantees that they have an extra person to scheme with, versus us exing an elim, and we'll have 0-1 votes from the Fanged player to work with).

Alain sat in the Tree, heedless of the Dragon's Fang scrawled across the front. What folk used as a sign for evil and mistrust had once been half of the symbol for the Aes Sedai. But, well, those didn't have much reason to come out here, at least not since the Breaking. Likely half the town didn't know what the mark meant. It surprised him a little, to see such a reaction from the people of Helgen, who normally were quite level-headed. Sure, there were some ongoing feuds, but they were more traditions at this point. A part of what kept life moving along out here, gave folks something to talk about over drinks other than wolves and failed harvests. Wyden brought over a plate of food, which Alain acknowledged with a grunt. The man seemed a bit unsteady on his feet as he walked away, which Alain filed away as he dug into the meal. As he ate, he became convinced of a few things. Even if using the Fang was an effective way to find one of the Darkfriends, whoever was caught would likely be able to escape and continue to serve the Dark One from somewhere else. No, it was best to hunt during the light of day, while the Dark One had fewer shadows to hide his minions in. As for his best guess for a Darkfriend? Well, Rambler (Matrim) had always seemed a bit off. And more recently, his comments about the Fang didn't seem to consider the interests of Helgen.

Quick Fix 59: Bachelor--Roshar edition!
Araris Valerian replied to Lotus's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Honestly, I’d say commit to something like what Drake did in LG 83. Set hard limits prior to the game starting up about the amount of effort you will put in. Only memes, or only RP, no vote analysis, 100 word max posts, whatever you think might be fun. If you make it clear you don’t want to carry the village (this would work for either team though) ahead of time, nobody will expect you to, so you will be free to chill or whatever. -

Quick Fix 59: Bachelor--Roshar edition!
Araris Valerian replied to Lotus's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That should be fine, like Lotus said, the votes aren't in a particular order and there is no way to confirm whether a player is being honest about such a claim. And I suppose that if anyone's forgotten already, feel free to bother me about anything that is bothering you. -

Break Tank 1: The Auction of Stories
Araris Valerian replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Maybe a change would be that if a player dies to having only bid votes, the next highest vote count also dies? That would put a bit more control back in the hands of the village. Thanks @Elbereth and @Devotary of Spontaneity for running this, it was a lot of fun!- 345 replies

Break Tank 1: The Auction of Stories
Araris Valerian replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, there is at least one villager voting for Xino, and I would really appreciate that person switching over. Unless the elims are bussing, of course, in which case they should stay put.- 345 replies
