You could always run one . Steeldancer ran that one, and I think it was fairly balanced, so it could see a rerun, especially with the relaxing of the non-Sanderson game rules. He's fairly busy now, and looks like his game slots are full of other ideas, so it would probably be on someone else to do it.

Yeah, probably should have put "best" in quotes, since the same thing crossed my mind when I made the suggestion. But something like Miracle Max from the Princess Bride LG seems to maybe fit the bill; flips/entering the dead doc are delayed by a cycle during which the player can be brought back to life. And that one also seems less likely to induce player insanity.

Yeah, the village is definitely on an uptick from when I proposed the idea. Maybe an alternative would be a vanilla-ish game where dead elims stay in the doc? That would slightly incentivize them to bus, and also be a bit of a help. Furthermore, it would reduce the potential for volatility based on the elim team's composition. Edit: Probably would want some sort of mechanic that slightly helps the village out to compensate/not make them feel left out.

My main comment about this game is that apparently I should never say that I'm going to be missing for EOD, or people will use that as an excuse to vote me off when I can't defend myself . And of course my team was amazing, nice work y'all. For @Kasimir, thanks for running the game, and for some excellent writeups. Always a pleasure to play one of your games, even if they tend to really mess with my elim %. As an elim, I think the best thing for us would have been a D1 Fang. For the village, what I argued in thread; D3 would have been ideal. I feel like in execution the mechanic wouldn't quite have the effect that I was hoping for, even though the Fang never got used. I'm curious to hear Kas's thoughts on that.

So there are generally a lot of unknowns in each setup; number of elims, number of each role, and the spread of roles between teams. A lot of the time the GM will come up with the number of roles they want to give to each team and then randomly assign them (or create a few random distributions and pick one they like). But we get to stumble around in the dark.

I would say that the GM meta around here tends to support giving elims vote manip roles, so I'm a lot more hesitant to support a tie. However, if we do pull a tie, I'd say that a village Forger should use their role so that the elims don't potentially get to choose who dies.

I was asleep 11 hours ago, and haven't checked the doc until just recently. Whoever typed that was using my color inappropriately/accidentally (or I just have terrible memory). I'm in favor of sharing identities, since the elims probably know everything anyways. I'm not sure how your last-minute vote on Thaid is "deliberate weirdness". It's just flat-out incriminating, given Archer's flip.

Okay, let’s start with the votes on Thaidakar. Kas: Leaning village, stacking 2 elim votes early is odd, creating pressure is good Mat: This vote would be elimmy if Thaidakar was elim, but he wasn’t. So it’s just null. He does later make a comment that Archer/Thaid is not e/e, which seems like a village call. Vote on Bort feels weird. Aman: Same as Mat. Later Archer vote on him makes him look villageish, wouldn’t put it past Archer/Aman to distance/bus though. Striker: Same, except he mentions disagreeing with Mat and Aman, which seems off when voting alongside them. I sort of like his move to Mat after. Not sure an elim would place a 4th (or whatever it was) vote on someone and then retract quickly, saying it was a joke. Not sure why he switched to Devo. Seems undercommitted to votes? Okay, then there is the Bort/Tani thing. Like I said, my gut is slightly on village Bort, and I’m not a fan of how Tani had an opportunity to engage but didn’t. I know Tani lives in the lurker zone, but at the very least that is unhelpful to the village. TJ doesn’t look great, especially if Striker is elim. I like that Shadow agrees with me about poke votes not doing anything . I’m thinking if Devotary were elim she would have followed Mat onto Thaid. Unless Mat is also elim. So for now I’ll go on Striker. Not only is he suspicious in his own right, he has interactions with Mat, Devo, TJ, and Aman that are all interesting.

I never posted the following when it came to mind, but I actually got village vibes from Bort's last post in our discussion. My feel was we could agree to disagree and revisit the topic later. I'm also sort of out of touch with what went down both around Thaid and the end of cycle, so I'll come back once I've read that stuff.

I’ll just note that in my opinion everyone should start in the “Bad Bucket” and have to work their way up. Also, I’ve been elim 8 times in the last year (9 if being a SK counts), and village only 5, so I think wanting to murder me is a pretty reasonable impulse.

Mostly because you haven't actually accomplished your goal. Tani hasn't contributed anything worthwhile, and that's the distinction I'm trying to emphasize here.

Pretty sure the circumstances are very different there, the least being that my vote was on D3, when it's pretty pathetic if all I can muster up is a poke vote. But the more important thing i that there's nothing particularly wrong with moving a vote from one player to another. But if a player can consistently get you to unvote them by posting fluff, why bother voting at all? I'll also echo Kas in that it's a bit weird this came to your mind when my own memory of that cycle is pretty much non-existent, but since I am definitely a proponent of reading old SE games, I will also choose to ignore that for now.

@Bort, figured I'd let you know that I Officially Frown upon poke votes, and might have to stab vote you if you continue attempting to employ them. I'm also wondering if anyone has an appetite for joining on Devotary? And if not, perhaps on Bort or Tani?
