  1. I'm leaning village on Archer because of his attacks on me (though I'm beginning to doubt part of that reasoning). But I also think that his last cycle wasn't great in regards to JNV.
  2. Uh. Why do I only get to be neutral for bussing a teammate voting early on JNV and sticking with it? Not to mention that the VC proves that I refrained from filling my metalmind, as I said I would.
  3. Well. Tired old guys have bad eyesight, I guess. Yeah, I still hold that we should look outside the pool of people that got voted on D1. But I'm not going to retract any of what I've said, in case it needs to be revisited.
  4. I've never done a "massive" multiquote, but figured after champs that I may as well. Here's all the D1 posts by or mentioning Stick, along with my thoughts. Okay, so there wasn't too much going on there, but I'm not a fan of what I saw from Mat. It looked like his interactions with Stick were performative. One counterpoint is how Mat pushed back against what Stick was saying about the generic kill, but I think they are competent enough to distance like this. I don't have a response to Archer, except that perhaps this sort of thing is why I'm justified in disliking PMs (the Gods of Kas and Fifth like to curse me with PM roles apparently) And no, I won't be taking PM requests. Artwyn is old and tired and won't be delivering any other messages.
  5. I just did a brief reread looking at where Stick mention folks/was mention by them. JNV and Illwei both stuck out a bit, the former for being non-committal (something Stick herself pointed out), and the latter for having Stick as a top village read (though that was also qualified). There were others, I just wanted to put something out there so that maybe when I get back discussion will be a bit further along on the topic.
  6. I suppose to have it out there in case I die tonight, I'd guess that 0-1 elims had votes on them D1. I think elims would suspect that a lot of villagers would be filling metalminds that would negate votes, and I suspected they would have acted a bit more if there was more than one of them likely to be tied for death. I also am gonna tentatively put Ash as village, Ash since there wasn't any counter to the votes on him. Of course there is a potential ploy here where one/both of myself and Mat are elims with Ash, but that seems too risky for a D1 play when there is already pretty low voting activity.
  7. I think you're misremembering, because the last time you voted elim!me out was MR57 (which basically came down to me being AFK at the end of the cycle): Also, based on this, I suppose I shouldn't point out that I am mildly uncomfortable voting alongside Mat . I'm also (possibly at risk to my own wellbeing (because he might kill me)) going to protest against voting out Alvron, just since he's been away for a while.
  8. I’m definitely still not a fan of Steel, and don’t think he has done anything worth being a top village read. And I’m always a bit uncomfortable with people village reading me with any level of confidence this early on. Mat and Illwei stick out, there might have been some others.
  9. I’m pretty sure the Gods of Luck and Chance disapprove of this tie, however, since it will have a deterministic result; no death. Would you (or anyone) be willing to join me on Ash? Like, sure, he’s probably trying to fill something that doesn’t let him vote, but that’s a terrible reason to call other people to vote without actually providing any direction on the matter.
  10. I'm switching from Steel to Ash, not a fan of him calling for votes while not voting himself.
  11. He said he didn't understand the rules: But Fifth specifically said in the writeup: So either Steel was lying about not understanding the rules, or he was deliberately posting without understanding that it might affect his ability to store, or he didn't read the writeup and posted anyways. None of these are helpful to the village.
  12. I don't believe you (as should be standard practice around here). I'm also curious about what you hoped to accomplish with this vote, given the amount I normally react to early votes on myself.
  13. Artwyn’s bones creaked as he rose to the morning light and set about his routine, such as it was. Boiled grain for breakfast, followed by a review of the day’s tasks. Folks didn’t seem to care as much about their furniture with murder in the air, so he had less of that to do, but there were always plenty of errands to be run. A crowd had gathered toward the center of town, already discussing who might be a spy from the Inquisition. Artwyn assumed they’d settle down after a bit, but one thing in particular stuck out to him. A beggar known locally as Steel claimed to have no knowledge of Feruchemy. Now, that seemed either like a lie, or like plain foolishness, and neither would help settle things down. And while an agent of the Steel Ministry was unlikely to be foolish in fact, it could suit their purposes to appear as such.
  14. Randby has been inactive since last November apparently, and I've messaged Steel on discord. If I don't hear from him by Friday I'd say either Kas or Ash should take the LG.
  15. Looks like @|TJ|, @Ashbringer, @Elbereth/@little wilson, and @StrikerEZ is the current lineup for the next LG. And whoever takes it should probably keep in mind that player counts/activity is kinda low right now. I guess I'll ping @Lotus as well, since TUO is running a game right now. After that would be @Random Bystander and @Steeldancer since there are so many repeats on the list, and Kas is on hiatus.
  16. We've had lower activity in the past, and I think at least a part of what's going on now is end-of-semester stuff, which might pick up once we get more into the summer. But I'd agree that we probably should have a protocol for when a GM can't get enough players for their ruleset, and for just in general with lower player counts. One complicating issue is how long the waitlist is for LGs, so it would feel bad to force someone to give up their slot they've waited a year or more to run. Perhaps another signup list for GMs willing to run a smallish game somewhat on the spot when a pending GM can't get the players they want. This also might be a good place for games with a bit more of an RP focus to happen, if that's something people are interested in.
  17. I should also mention that @Kasimir's writeups were excellent this game and anyone who didn't take the time to read them should definitely go back and do so.
  18. I had fun, thanks @Kasimir for running. We already had a chat about the distro and I'm sure he's gonna mention everything I could say in his AAR, so I'll hold off until that. Kinda wish I didn't get voted out for my role, and hoping this is a lesson to the newer generation of SE players . When there are lots of Smokers, it means there's a decent chance there's a lot of things that can be blocked by smoking . It was a bit convenient that I got voted off right as champs started though. I'm not terribly surprised by the activity given that lots of people have finals about now, combined with AN games being a bit harder to stay on top of. But I do think we need to do better about not signing up for games we can't commit to seeing through.
  19. Hey everyone, since another AN has come to a close, feel free to update the Guestbook PM for your anonymous account with some details about the game. The entry should look generally like what I have below, although for this game adding in who the account got passed to would be interesting as well.
  20. I figured the best way to rep our community and it's history would be to do my bio in RP, so here's what I've got. If anyone has any feedback let me know, I've got to send it in by tomorrow: NATIONALITY: American STARTED PLAYING MAFIA (YEAR): 2014 HAVE PLAYED MAFIA ON THE FOLLOWING SITES: The 17th Shard Aralis took note of each item as he packed his bag. A tinfoil hat, slightly worn, perfect for blocking emotional allomancy. A vial of liquid, labeled “forgetting rollover but actually helping”, which Aralis hoped he would never need. There was a bright pink headband which he donned that contrasted rather starkly with his fading grey hair. A small box that Kel had given him said it contained “the wrath of 80 glorious suns upon your foes.” There were many other things, mementos, weapons, and notes of encouragement. Some of the items were from old friends like Kel, others from rather silly youngsters, but he took them all. This was the first time in nearly 8 years that Aralis had left Tyrian Falls, and despite his frequent grouching, it was hard to say goodbye, even for a while. An envoy had come, asking for a representative, and Aralis had been somewhat surprised when many of the townsfolk had thought of him. Perhaps the recent successful defense of the city against Ruin and the Spiked had worn everyone out, and they’d just turned to a familiar face. Or maybe everyone was tired of him yelling at them to get off his lawn. Whatever the reason, Aralis hoped to do them proud. This was the Year of the Broken Curse, a year when anything was possible. So with the willpower of Tyrian Falls in his staff, and the well-wishes of its members in his pack, Aralis set off for the unknown.
