  1. And now your vote has tied Conquestor with Mat, TUN, and Xino .
  2. I mean, if explaining things has always been part of the game, then Illwei would have explained herself. Illwei made a post implying that TUN’s post had ramifications for TUN and Mat’s alignments, but didn’t explicitly say why. Maybe that’s a useful/common tactic on MU, but I don’t think it fits our LGs very well, hence my explanation. In particular I’d say offering attacks in that manner can be helpful, but if you are defending someone D1 then not so much. And from there, it makes sense to retract from Mat, to not vote on TUN, and to vote somewhere that will create a bit of pressure. Since it’s D1, it’s no big deal, so I voted with my porch bro. I certainly didn’t throw out a retaliatory vote on Illwei for providing no reasoning.
  3. I agree with the first part of this post, in that e!TUN would likely only retract from v!Mat at this point if the elims had a different preferred target and neither of the two other players with 2 votes was elim. And his defense of Mat has no reasoning, so it would be a poor e/e play. Which means all things considered, Mat is a bit less likely to be elim than random, since his e/e pairing with TUN is unlikely. (to clarify, I'm talking this out both to make sure that I actually agree, and because we have newer players that probably care to hear some reasoning behind things) My vote is going to fall on Stiiik instead then.
  4. Nah, you'll have to wait until you're busy at EOD for that to happen .
  5. It was certainly an odd thing, not remembering one's generation brothers and sisters. ArVaal paced the tunnels of the Homeland, the crystals in his True Body glinting softly green in the cavern's light. Menace they might be, the Thirds at least had an appreciation for the open sky, the world outside the Homeland, where one could enjoy a sunset from the comfort of a porch. One could respect that in them, but that did not change the danger they posed to the safety of all Kandra. The Thirds needed to be discovered and put in their places, whatever the cost, for it would not be as great as the harm should they succeed in taking control. As ArVaal thought over the faces and True Bodies that he had seen lately, some of them sparked what might have been hints of memories. Nothing was sure, but MaTriim had prompted no such recollection. It was as good a place to start as any, he supposed.
  6. I wish I'd been able to engage with this game more, but it was a lot of fun to watch! And yeah, props to Devo. Between this game and the LG, I am firmly reminded of the respect she is due.
  7. I was under the impression that the alert was flavor, explaining why further spying would be impossible. Regardless, I have a copy of your PM, and can rely any details about it that you so desire.
  8. I’m not sure that this is possible, given that I have a significant reputation of having done just that repeatedly. I am also a messenger, and spied on Mat/Danex. I’d be happy to provide any details about said PM that are requested, without directly copy+pasting. The last thing Mat said was related to PMing and Finwe. Danex also approved of Mat’s convention for voting on him. I also don’t have a PM with Mat, though I think one could be forgiven for guessing that we had one. I think that it would be rather unlikely that Danex or myself would opt to not convert C1, assuming we were Melkor. Risking the game on how the last-minute voting on C1 plays out definitely is way beyond my risk tolerance. Some of Kas’s takes this cycle made me uncomfortable, until he backed off super hard on them and joke-voted himself. There’s technically some room for Kas to be fake-claiming as well, but it seems odd that he’d challenge TUN on the matter. I also doubt his self-control to abstain from PMs . I’m sympathetic (again) to the suspicion on TUN. The way the discussion was moving, it seems reasonable for Melkor to soft-claim a role, and then double-down or back off, depending on the response. I agree with Kas’s take on Noble!Melkor, that seems like too much resilience from the exe, so Conquestor probably was clean last turn. Melkor!Archer basically committed to never converting, which seems odd. Archer is a solid player though, so I wouldn’t discount it entirely, but he gets a village read at least. So I guess I’m left with something like TUN, Mat, and Devo for my suspicions, at least for a Melkor that used a conversion. I think Devo or Mat would have been more likely to be converted than TUN based on C1, but TUN is more likely to be Melkor based on the fake-claim. Unfortunately, I probably won’t be around to post again this cycle, so I’ll vote Mat and call it a day.
  9. Just a heads up, Tuesday and Thursday are busy days for me, it will be another ~2 hours before I can start getting caught up on the thread.
  10. Well, if nobody votes on people who are making obvious elim plays, then all of a sudden elims can afford to be more obvious. TUN basically said, "I'm not posting useful content now, and when I do post later, it will be rules analysis." Which gets him out of contributing for the entire day. As for me being MIA, I had fun things to do today, and it's C1 of a conversion game, so my motivation is slightly down. My hottest take is probably that all the Danex votes (minus Archer, who is never to be trusted) are clean, since there isn't really a reason for Melkor to stick out like that. And I would say that even in a non-conversion game, a new player joining a bandwagon is more of a village play (in that they feel like they need to vote, but are still figuring out how to form suspicions). And does anyone else agree with me on TUN? Or if they don't do you have a legit reason to vote elsewhere?
  11. I feel like Gandalf after Frodo chose to go through Moria . And I suppose if there is going to be a Kinslaying, I should take part, right? I'd be happy voting on @The Unknown Novel right now, since it seems like a way to opt out of discussion until doing rules analysis, which doesn't really help us itself. So yeah, Aegnor. Findor's memory of the Kinslaying, the first time Elves had slain each other, was as sharp as the salty tang of the ocean. His arrows had pieced many of the Noldor, and his brothers had fallen to their blades. But these recollections, terrible as they were, did not hold him back from the current conflict. Just as Melkor sought to create a great evil by granting a few small boons in the present, so too he would dirty his hands now to forestall the greater calamity. For surely if Melkor's desires were fulfilled, a new darkness, more vast than any remembered deaths, would fall upon the world.
  12. Good game everyone! Props to Devo for rebutting my arguments all the way until the end. I had a lot of fun that turn trying to convince y'all that I wasn't evil . It was a bit of a bummer that everything came down to throws of the dice at the end (and Mat didn't seem to have come into his luck yet in this turning of the Wheel), but overall it was a fun game. Thanks for GMing @The Unknown Novel, and for IMing, @Elandera.
  13. Alvron is one of our older players, you might see him pop into a game every now and then (LG 86 was his most recent). He coined the term the "Gods of Luck and Chance" and generally advocates for vigilantism, chaos, and tied votes. I traded him something a while back in exchange for him to plead to said gods when I was in a pinch .
  14. I see that all the rules have been clarified Hmm. Old grouch doesn't really fit with this setting well, does it. I'll be Findor, star-watcher and boat-builder.
  15. I agree with the shortened turn. @Alvron, I call for your aid. Devotary
  16. Yes, I would like a shorter rollover.
  17. I was not really expecting that. I was really hoping that one of my weaves would actually succeed. It seems that my mastery of saidin might not be up to par .
  18. Which nobody was trying to do until Sart brought up the issue in the first place.
  19. So Luck would have spontaneously revealed her and Sart's roles to the thread because... she felt like it?
  20. This is mostly for Luck, who is still voting for me, but I don't think this really addresses what I've said (or been trying to say): Yeah, this is an argument that Sart is village. And his action claims don't fit very well with Devo's, making her elim. Or at least that's the conclusion he reached earlier in the cycle. Also, Sart created a POE out of thin air with his role analysis. He could have just... not. Nobody was coming after either me or Devo. Devo saying he doesn't have a choice is predicated on him doing the role analysis in the first place. If we were teamed, he'd do no such thing, we'd split the village today and then hammer with Compulsion to win.
  21. You and Devo, Devo is easy, you because so far it doesn't seem like you've considered many of the points I've tried to make this cycle.
