  1. Okay, it’s late and I haven’t really caught up, but Xino Bookwyrm I’m gonna go with my early read while also blaspheming a bit against Alv, which is nearly as fun as killing him.
  2. So far as I know, historically I’ve never faked a goof like that as an elim. Doesn’t mean that I don’t consider doing it every time I see someone get soft-cleared for one.
  3. Hold on, I was told Szeth wasn’t in this game, and was bummed because I couldn’t vote him out to get trusted. This might call for a change of vote .
  4. I feel like this is exactly the type of mistake I’ve made in the past, yet every time it happens people get weirded out that I’m not paying enough attention or something. I feel like “vaguely competent but makes lots of careless errors” is a good descriptor of me in most activities. @Archer, why aren’t you voting Xino with me? And what’s the deal with 5 votes on Wizard? Did I miss something, or did you all just eat some bad chili at the same time?
  5. All young folks look alike, okay? I was originally thinking a self-pres vote this early in the day is kinda villagery, since an elim would probably want to de-escalate things if possible. Now I'm not sure what to think, though I would say the fact that there are still nearly 36 hours left in the cycle means that maybe everyone shouldn't be jumping onto wagons yet? I guess since we have more than 2 it's not the worst thing.
  6. I agree that Bookwyrm is suspicious. Alvron can live until I get a Division blade,. To elaborate, Book's posts feel like they are too careful. Sometime newer players are like that, but I think newer elims are even more prone to that, so it's worth a vote change.
  7. It doesn’t mater if he’s posted. I just have this weird suspicion that he’s gonna murder me, and in this case that makes him evil.
  8. *poof* Yeah? In regards to votes, I’m pretty sure Alvron is elim. I used a strategy of piling onto a teammate that had been poke-voted as an elim to get everyone to back off of them, and also caught an elim doing that as well. So count me suspicious of anything that looks vaguely like that.
  9. In my view, the point of the scan is to slightly mitigate the info black hole. The number of redirects is relatively small (at most 1/4 of the number of players), so a successful scan would be accurate more than 3/4 of the time, especially considering PM collaboration between factions. But, having an unmarked player get scanned as Marked could be a huge boon for a team, and something that they could strategize around. It may be the case that some abilities aren’t used a ton, but since they are symmetric between factions, that gives a bit of leeway for some experimentation. And I’m having quote issues since I’m on mobile, but @Kasimir, note that I changed it from what I originally pitched to you so that a fulled Marked faction is removed. I didn’t really want players that have already lost being able to meddle in things. I could revert that change, but maybe that would be for a rerun if people like the base concept.
  10. Oh, there will be faction docs. Which I think lends to a longer game format. I'm leaning toward no final VC at all each cycle, and just letting players work that out. Hmm, I think this would fit decently in the Reckonerverse, with players as Epics and the Mark representing that their weakness is known.
  11. Here's a faction MR that I cooked up last night. It still needs a theme, but the main ideas are limited GM feedback and very delayed deaths.
  12. Well, they do say memory is the first thing to go .
  13. When it comes time, I would say check the game run immediately prior to see how many players to expect. Right now you probably want to plan for 12-15, though complicated rules will probably drop that a bit, and a compelling theme will probably attract a couple of extra players. The current rule is that you can run a non-Sanderson game if one hasn't been run in the last 5 games of that type. Since Kas is running a Star Wars game right now, you will probably come up before the 5 games happen again, so plan for a Sanderson theme. In general, all of our games have theme of some kind, though it's generally weaker in a QF (Tani ran a game that was just people playing cards in the Warcamps). And non-Sanderson games typically are only run when the GM has a setting from elsewhere that they are really attached to. If you want to pitch some un-themed rules and ask for suggestions about a Cosmere theme, I'm sure plenty of folks would be willing to help out with ideas as well. If you have a non-Sanderson theme you really like, you will also have a chance to win a pass for a game during our Anniversary Game (I'm pretty sure this will be a thing), which should run toward the end of the year.
  14. Hmm, this place seems familiar. Hadrian-son-Penrod is going to join up. Small caveat that I will be traveling/with family over Thanksgiving, so my activity might be a bit spotty in the first week or so.
