Waygate Foundation Livestream: Part Deux
bartbug replied to WeiryWriter's topic in Events and Signings
Did you miss transcribing my question? I asked who would win in an epic singing contest: Hoid or Kvothe. Unfortunately, it seems like Kvothe would take it. Brandon said that while Hoid is technically good, he doesn't have it as part of his soul like Kvothe does. Hoid's soul is more oriented towards stories. The outcome of their rap battle, however, remains to be seen... EDIT: Didn't read (enough) before I posted. First pass. I get it... I think mine was the last question. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
bartbug replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you can sit during class and daydream about which angle you would lash yourself so that you could perfectly crash through the window and slide across the slightly slanted top of the roof, and when you're mad at someone, you try to lash them straight up, only to give them a pat on the back. -
Also, recent WoB has said that the amount of charge in a hemalurgic spike is also very, very small, considering what you would expect it to be. Also, I've asked him, and size does matter, it's just that no one on Scadrial has ever really come close to approaching its limit.

I've been thinking about this for a long, long time. Yes. This is part of why Nightblood is so messed up. All Shards have a simple, fundamental, thought-free goal; Ruin, Preservation, Odium... Morality doesn't come into it. Nightblood, however, is founded upon morality, without being granted an inkling of what that morality is.

Alloy of Law, for me. The plot is tight, characters fun, and the story pulls on your nostalgia, deep thoughts, great action scenes, and weird-things-that-do-not-work-on-paper-but-are-awesome (bullet on bullet, anyone?) that just make for the funnest read.

Fine. From Wyrm to Grim. And before anyone asks, I'm not doing this because of Meta. Or at least, I hope...
-
Are most of the people in the AU homo (or bi) sexual, or just the ones we've seen so far? Is it a conscious decision, or is there a particular reason for it? Just curious.
-
Ooh... if that ever happens . I want Birthright, but my faith in its arrival has been shaken.
-
Wow, when Meta plays, it messes with my mind. I have this awful compulsion to treat Meta's words as truth. STAWP IT.
-
I guess you're right, the Breath Lottery does make the everyone-drab plan not work well. I was kind of hoping that we would have 2 mercenaries, one to kill the normal Pahn Kahl and one to kill the Swordbearer. Alright, fine, Meta. Man, the Breath Lottery is annoying. Wyrm seems fine to me.
-
As Aonar says, for me to be Pahn Kahl, the Breath would have to be ridiculously stacked in their favor. I started with three Breaths, and we all know I gave them to Aonar. That means that, minus my Breaths, the Pahn Kahl would have a lot of Breaths. You're arguments against the plan don't make sense, Meta. If they try to kill Aodan with the Sword, then they lose someone. And if everyone is drab, then they can't use the Sword. Ta da! (And since I know that you are smart, Meta, I am deeply suspicious of you and Gammers). EDIT: The day is almost over, and logistically, it won't be possible to get everyone to give up their Breath, which kind of takes away the point. So, the plan won't work tonight. Ah well. You guys can kill me, but as Aodan has said, the chances of me being Pahn Kahl are almost nil. So there's that. However, if you guys end up killing me, I reserve the right to say, "I told you so, when Meta and Gammers are shown as Pahn Kahl. Still on the fence about anyone else, though.
-
Hero, you're thought about it working on paper but not in practice is literally the only valid defense against it. I'm kind of sad that you brought it up, because nothing can change that fact. Just some food for thought: If everyone gives up their Breath, even if the Pahn Kahl decide to play it safe, they can't use Cuddles as a drab. (of course, as you said, it won't work unless everyone does it. Which, once again, it's pretty clear that we won't get a big enough margin.) Alas! I say, give up your Breath! Then we'll see the numbers after everyone has taken their place. Hero, here's what I ask of you: You don't need to be an early supporter. But if the tides shift, and people start giving up Breath, please follow suit. Once/if enough people do give up their Breath, then any who don't will have a target painted on their back.
-
I think the whole point is that if they kill Aodan, then we'll know if they opt to take the Breaths. If they do, that's a guaranteed Pahn Kahl down. Even better, it's guaranteed to be the one with the sword. (Because the sword is the only way to kill Aodan through all of his layers of protection). So, let's follow down this chain of events: Today, everyone gives their Breaths to Aodan, whether they actually have Breath or not, just to make sure. Therefore, no one dies. Tonight, the Pahn Kahl kill Aodan with everything they got: Several of them are left dead from the mercenaries, and if we do this right, the mercenaries get the Awakened sword. Actually, nevermind. This is totally a best case scenario. Also, if everyone gives up their Breaths, then it won't be possible to use the sword. In the rules it says that if it makes you a drab, you die. Ergo, you need Breath to use it. Worst case scenario, they kill one person to night (true worst case scenario: the person who dies is me ). Sorry, but there is no downside, and Aodan will be fabulous. My life to yours, my Breath to yours (Aodan). (I'm still Drab, but just in case you guys don't believe me).

I spent an audible credit on Endymion. Loved the first two in the Cantos, and this one is turning out great as well.
-
Cool. Do you have more chapters done? Around when can we see those? Cus' this looks pretty cool.
-
Hey, I have all of the cards, but I (stupidly) lost your address. Could you PM me so I can send it ASAP? Sorry about that. (Also, I don't think I have any photos, but I'll check).
-
You talking about my "let's make Aonar super" idea? Because everyone needs to do it now. It's the only way to recuperate from letting the Pahn Kahl create a Lifeless Sword. Come on, guys. Also, is Maill verified good?
-
Desperate? It looked like there was a good chance of me dying, and I wanted to try and kick start my idea by being the first person to go. By the way, my plan is even more necessary now that an Awakened Sword has entered the game. If everyone becomes drab, then they will be unable to kill without dying. Your vehemence against such a total sum gain is surprising. As I've said before, the point is not to make Aonar powerful. It's to get rid of the Pahn Kahl's powers.
-
Hey, Wyrm, seeing as you are probably about to die, give your Breath to Aonar.

Or maybe Brandon's most ancient because he's been Atium Compounding.

@Mailliw: Thank you for noticing that. When I first lay out my plan and it got shot down mainly for not being fun, it kind of bothered me. Me thinks I'm going to follow suit by voting for Wyrm. (Of course, if you have a better option, I have an idea: Whoever gives Aonar the most Breath in this day cycle, I will give my vote to that person. And you have to give it up, not just offer).

Have you read WoR yet?
-
It could be cool, but I'm not sure how successful it would be. EDIT: Just saying, Kredik Shaw totally needs to be a stage. And Elantris. But first one that pops to mind is Kredik Shaw. Shai could totally be cool as a player, with the ability to switch between different personas. And Marsh could hemalurgically steal abilities.

Michael Whelan's Preliminary Art for Words of Radiance
bartbug replied to Argent's topic in Creator's Corner
Dang... Colored Kaladin's cover was pretty awesome. I kind of wish that had been the cover. -
Aonar, I say go for it. After all, this is a (modified) version of my same plan, only with a different spin on it.
