Now we just need Wayne to help us verify.

I'm curious about "no one else sees". Does it mean that no one else sees that kind of spren? Because I really, really want that to be true. Renarin needs to be more special than just a regular Radiant.

Syl is no ordinary honorspren. She (and Kaladin) are something special.

Elantris: Sarene. She was a fine character, it was just that in the chapter triad system, more often than not I would skim through her chapter to get to Raoden and Hathren, who are AWESOME. As a supporting character instead of a main, I would've been okay with her.

Wait, hold on a sec. Do you think that the mechanical metallic arts used on southern scadrial could have anything to do with this? Viewing it from this viewpoint is the most plausible explanation I've heard yet.

KR Internal Conflicts and Speculation on the First Ideal
bartbug replied to dionysus's topic in Stormlight Archive
Brandon is special that way. -
On this idea of magic that seem like cop outs, does the whole Ta'veren thing bug you too? I mean, it's just a way for the plot to be forced forward. If it makes no sense for their character, or there is no way for them to get from point a to b, then they just ta'veren their way.

How do you like your Brandon served?
bartbug replied to Mikanium's topic in General Brandon Discussion
What I do is, preorder the book on Amazon, in hard copy. Then, while I'm waiting for my Brandon fix, I buy and read the ebook. When I get the hard copy, I read it once, put it on my shelf, and wait for Brandon to come around so I can get it signed.- 28 replies

I'm just excited for a third book about Wayne, for sure. Wayne!

Hmm... Oddish has never seemed to be too hateful to me. (But wait until you have a Vileplume. Then things get nasty, with its caustic personality.) Are you just trying to spread doom and Gloom? Get out of Kalos

Well, any of those could be viewed as advantages, even for Dalinar. We really need more context before we can make judgements. Like, I can easily imagine Taravangian's intelligence being a boon, or the gift.

Does this post mean lift's interlude specifically, or steelhunt responses in general. Because if it is in general, than the Bloody Tan appearance in Shadows of Self just about made me jump up and down in laughter. (Hmm... Reading that line again makes me feel a little like a sadist. Oh well.) But- evil kandra!

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
bartbug replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In that scenario, I agree with you 100%. But there's no randomness here, and we're in Wax's natural element, while we're going away from Wayne's. I think for the fight to be fair, it would have to be in an environment (like Elendel) where they can both use their talents. If it comes down to who shoots the best, then it really isn't even a fight because Wayne can't shoot. -
Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win

Well, I think its really circumstantial. In general, a fight between the two of them would involve some sniping, just because of who Wax and Wayne are. Wax is an almost legendary shot, and Wayne can't fire a gun with any real hope of hitting. Wax would be smart, and push himself away, creating a distance between the two of them, and then start firing. This event scenario brings me back to the original point of my second post, where if Wax and Wayne fought, it wouldn't turn into a brawl. It would be more about trickery. -
I like it. I think that you've got something there, especially with Darkness(Nalan).

Sell. NO. Wayne will not die. He is "Simply too handsome, to clever, and too immensely remarkable in all aspects of his existence to allow to live." (AoL, pg 180). Shallan will say at least one Radiant Oath.

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
bartbug replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah, but that's when the people they're fighting don't know about their twinborn nature, and they're on the same side. I think that if Wayne is clever with his bendalloy and his disguises, he's got Wax. Wax won't go around coinshotting random people just because they might be wayne. -
You know what this means. (Not like I have homework or anything). REREAD!

Just the way that Brandon says, "for the most part" leads me to suspect that there will be bad kandra.
-
Buy, I think Kaladin will get his shards from Amarin There will be the "evil" kandra mentioned in the Ars Arcanum of Alloy of Law in Shadows of Self.

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win

I want to see a Wax vs Wayne, just so we can see who's more valuable or dangerous to the duo. -
So, I was thinking about how limited steel mistings were compared to mistborn, and how Spook felt when he gained the complement of his tin in the hemalurgic pewter, and how that might relate to bendalloy and cadmium. Now, I'm not a hundred percent positive about the logistics of this, but could a mistborn burn both cadmium and bendalloy at the same time to create some bubbleception? Because bendalloy is limited to smaller bubble size, then the mistborn would be able to make a ring around himself were everything was slowed down. Again, I'm not sure if this would work, but I think that this could be an excellent use for cadmium beyond its original capabilities solely as something for trapping people.

I think that the part of "all" of the Shards being on Roshar is clarified in a recent signing.
-
Also, why would Kaladin win? Sure, we know that Kaladin is more powerful in the terms of how long he can keep Stormlight in, but Szeth knows a lot more about Windrunning, and, as you said, he has a Shardblade. I can't see how Kaladin could swing it his way in a straight on fight. If it does come down to that, I'm guessing some Adolin interference. It would be a nice parallel to how Kaladin saved him at the end of TWOK
