On the splinter note... Maybe it is related to Shadows of Silence in the Forests of Hell in that they each have splinters of the same Shard. I mean, there are only so many Shards, and we already know about half of them.

Sell, I think that anything of that magnitude will be in the endgame (Last 3 maybe). Kaladin's dad (Lirin?) will come into conflict with Amaram.

Hemalurgy's morality is centered on the Cosmere's definition of "soul". If it is the same as ours, then it is immoral in every sense of the word. On a second note... If Hemalurgy becomes more widespread in the 2nd or 3rd Trilogy, and they have it as itself as a moral action (not counting the killing) I could see armies using specific bullets or daggers to take down enemy Mistings to get spikes. It could be an interesting scenario, with different governments fighting over different spike caches. Maybe the Set is trying to make one.

Shadows For Silence in the Forests of Hell
bartbug replied to ROSHtafARian's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Wait... Amazon says december 3rd. Wut? -
Or it could be neither of them. Or Breeze, or Ham, or even Yomen. All of the crew will have changed by the time that they read this, and knowing Brandon, I wouldn't be surprised. (But given how he has said that Spook will be playing some other (barely) greater roles, I think that it is Spook also. He had the greatest experience with hemalurgy).

Signing and Magic at Dragon's Keep in Orem
bartbug replied to Shardlet's topic in Events and Signings
Did anyone go to this? -
Dude... Dc and Marvel are two things that should stay separate. Even in the cosmere.

If you did this they would hate you. Forever. I know I would. And because most allomancers tend to be noble, how would they be slaves?

WOR finished (OFFICIALLY) - Launch date confirmed
bartbug replied to Natans's topic in Stormlight Archive
What do you mean, days. I intend to be finished before 12 noon on the fourth of march. (I buy the ebook at midnight, read as far as I can before the hardcover arrives from amazon, and then I continue. Then I wait for him to come along and sign it.) -
Someone should ask brandon tonight at the magic draft. (Please, please, someone go. Please.)

Umm, I believe that there are still full Feruchemists. It's just that they are a). much more rare to do genetic dilution with breeding with other races, . they tend to keep to them selves. I just remember there being a full Feruchemist in one of the broadsheet pages.

Yeah, also, there is the part that Way of Kings is designed so that absolutely zero prerequisite mistborn knowledge will be needed in order for enjoying it. So, I doubt that Kaladin is a misting.

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
bartbug replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Sorry, mispoke. (Wrote? Thought?) Not zero, but close enough that Szeth would run out of stormlight. -
Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
bartbug replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well, if you are using that many lashings, then that wall is more than a little destroyed, I think. (Unless TLR is smart enough to fill iron enough so that 100 x 0 = 0). -
If the Feruchemy powering Allomancy thing would work, I either think that it would involve Nicrosil, or it would require god metal alloys. If either of those work, then I think that you really have something. Either way, good work!

Zinc and Steel Compounding. It would be like the whole rest of the world would be moving in slow motion. So kind of like a time bubble that you could take with you.

shiny glow stick fingers Dang it. Sorry, I misunderstood the protocol, and I assumed that Weiry got it right before you affirmed it. Got it, now.

No, it makes sense. Its just that I (personally) don't do much steelheart or rtithmatist theorizing because it isn't cosmere, so there is no framework to work from. Actually, this is a really good idea. How did he die again? He was sick, right? Was there anyway that wild chalklings could have taken him?

Relative Cosmere Awareness, Steelhunt Considered
bartbug replied to GreyPilgrim's topic in Stormlight Archive
When looking at this list, note that their is a lot of time between Elantris and Way of Kings. Even if the protagonists (barring Galadon) are still alive, then their understanding of the cosmere is almost guaranteed to be much greater than it was when we last left off. Also, we have not seen a good portion of Sel, not like how we have seen so much of Roshar through the interludes. -
I also think that it is important to note how the Heralds correspond to different orders of the Knights Radiant, which are comprised of different aspects from both Honor and Cultivation. I don't think it would be too unlikely for the Heralds to reflect that duality as well, and the highstorms might show that too. (The cultivation aspect could be the energy of stormwater, with honor giving it their fury).

Just something I noticed while reading the comments. I think that we should make note of some of the spren that do not seem to fit the categories. Lifespren, for instance, make no sense when you think about it categorically, but when you think of it as a misconception, it makes more sense. All that this shows is that I am excited for some more Axies.

Complementary Shardumvirates (Why these Shards together?)
bartbug replied to Swimmingly's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Also, we haven't seen nearly half of the Shards yet. It's too early to start dissecting this part, I think. But the original personalities probably had something to do with it. -
Woo! I'm (part) Canadian, too! (I mean, I live in the U.S., but my mom's side is totally canadian)

Yeah, and a ton of investiture, which we know can grant intelligence. You know, I bet you that they do.
