or maybe balderdash is an awesome coincedence? I mean, balderdash is a word for randomness. The other one, figglymgrak, is just too random. Or not.

I always thought that the shades were more cognitive entities then anything else. The magic system (if you could call it that) actually reminded me a lot of Ruin. Is there a chance he could have had a hand in this world?

(shrugs) I don't know. I read it as he did turn into a shade, but Silence closed the door, (or whatever. I read it fast ).

'Twas awesome, indeed. I loved the buildup to the hotdog, and another serving of bad metaphors. It felt like the climax of Steelheart, yet all at once.

Sell. Aw, heck no. At least, as long as Harmony is still in charge. The God Beyond is the survival Shard

How do you do spoiler tags? SPOILERS I thought it was awesome, and had the pacing of a cosmere version of Legion. Fast paced, intense, with just one piece of awesome, creepy forshadowing in the grandmother. Everything else, I saw coming, and the one thing that disapointed me was that it felt like there was more cosmere info in that bit that Tor teased then the rest of the book. The fact that a shardworld with multiple populated continents could be considered "minor" makes little sense to me.

Pshaw! It's only 9k words, a pittance . Yeah, I got those school blues. Finals in a few weeks, and I really should be studying. Emphasis on "should".

Windrunner, you teaser, you! I'm so jealous that you already have a copy! One problem with amazon is that. On the topic at hand, I think that the best work for examining this would be the Emperor's Soul, because it is naturally all about what makes up the identity of a person. I remember a problem of Ashravan's favorite color being green, but Shai did not know why that was. If something as simple as a favorite color could contribute to your cognitive sense of a soul, then clothes would definitely be important.

I hope so! I haven't heard anything, but it wouldn't be crazy to assume it might get some mention, no matter how small, in Elantris 2.

Sorry, he had -5, but then I turned it to -6. Sorry again, but I don't have the link. It vanished, and I can't remember where it was posted.

So, I clicked the link from a new topic and found myself to a page covered in non cosmere related polish. Naturally, I downvoted the user but discovered something interesting that I did not know about. His negative upvote rank put him as "lifeless". Does anyone else know of different undead tiers?

I always thought it weird that the Stone Shamans would venture out into the rest of Roshar, especially with their fear of stone. But maybe they are able to do some wonky Shin magic to recover it from where ever the blade disappears to after death.

Upvote for the theory organization. I'm pretty sure that the spren does cause the size, just because of how the islands are really greatshells, and we have WoB of 'chasmspren' attributing to the size. I do like the idea of the larkins stealing stormlight through something like a faux spren bond, though. Maybe the Aimians are Voidbringing.

10 bucks says that in a conflict, the 'chosen of Harmony' will win. The fact that they have a god that will lean towards their side combine with the greater amounts of Investiture in their system gives the Elendians the clear advantage. (Off topic, but am I the only one who finds it incredibly ironic that at first, Elend was barely a side character and now, history views him as the second most important person, ever (with Sazed being the first)).

I'm not going to lie, I really thought the whole forum was going to be much more excited about this. I mean, a new Sanderson piece. Sure, it's short and not cosmere, but did you miss the Sanderson? I'm almost as excited about this as I am for Dangerous Women, just because I know this shall be hilarious like this world hath never seen.

Buy, because of Dalinar's Highprince of War. Shadows of Silence in the Forests of Hell will show us the Investiture of either a new Shard or Odium.
-
Tineyes see through the mist because Tineyes get their powers from some Investiture from Preservation, which is what the mists are. That is also why the mists are repelled by Hemalurgic burners. If anything, tineyes would have a harder time seeing spren, just because of their foreign Investiture (Syl doesn't like Hoid because of that, I believe).

If they can see the dust, then unless they have some cognitive magicness like Rock or Lift, then it stands to reason that it is actually there. Couldn't that be considered matter being generated? Normally, I would agree with you on that physics point, but once you throw in Investiture, normal physics gets thrown out the window. (On a side note, investiture has already been used to make matter out of nothing. Scadrial was created (or modified) by Ruin and Preservation. A Scadrian rock is half and half). And, I assume that given this theory as accurate, crem is maybe nine parts dust and stuff that is has picked up as the highstorm has moved, and maybe one part magic spren substance. The one part would be like Cultivation's stormlight.

Well, the overabundance of spren is Investiture, since each Spren is either part Adonalsium, Honor, or Cultivation. And for the crystal crem with Tien... ask Brandon? I've always thought that something was weird about Tien, but nothing really made any sense. (Also, I think at least part of crem actually is the minerals that highstorms have kicked up. Maybe you need 'pure' crem, the equivalent of Stormlight)

Taln is a herald, so we can't decide what rules apply to him and what rules dont'. And, Taln may be using an Honorblade, which has different rules. I think that Sanderson doesn't want us to know about this, though, because your point with Szeth is valid.

Alright guys, first theory. I hope this has not been said. What if Crem is the leftover of spren, kind of like the crystal vines are for Wyndle? When the highstorms come over with all of their windspren, then they deposit the massive amounts of spren because of how coporeal these spren are, due to the massive windiness of the highstorm. Then it's filled with nutrients because of the cultivation part of these spren, or because there are other spren inside the highstorm that are more Cultivation. That's my theory. Please tell me what's wrong with it, or not clearly said.

I believe that there are several words of brandon about this. I don't have quotes right now, but there is something in the annotations on his website, and the general gist of what we know is that they somehow have 'mechanical' metallic arts, and they were not physically altered by Rashek. I think that's it. Though if someone were to correct me, I would be very happy.
