  1. Darn, I would read these, but... A couple of years ago, when I was only around 10, I accidently read a Percy Jackson Fanfic that had a twenty year old Percy in bed with an Aphrodite person. It scarred me, and now I have an irrational fear of fanfics.
  2. Really? Where did you hear that? Cuz if so, then that is really cool because the magic system is the thing I liked the most about Aether.

    Fedik

If I can get a quote on that, I'm sold. That's really, really cool.
  4. You're right, Windy, but... eh. The books just feel really, really different, and other than Decay = Ruin, I really do not think that the other two Gods feel anything like Preservation. It would not be too hard to switch up the Shards, or, even better, make them splinters. Besides, the info about shardpools is gold, even if it is not necessarily accurate.
  5. I doubt that Szeth was doing all of the killings, just because it would be a little risky for them(Mr T.) to send Szeth supermanning across a super continent. It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's a.... it's a Shin Surgebinder! Someone would probably see that, and then there would be problems for Mr T. as the Heralds or Darkness figure it out. I think that Nalan would put Szeth's use of Surgebinding as 'evil'.
  6. Yeah, I've always thought Endowment = Austre. Who is male.
  7. Ha, well you could always be an Ardent. Ain't nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't mind forsaking your wealth (which I assume that you have, if you want a career like that) and becoming someone else property. Every man's dream, right?
  8. Feather, you... you are amazing. Just wondering, have you finished IB3's storyline yet? I've kind of gotten stuck at act IV with Isa. But so far, It has been wonderful.
  9. And on top of that, why won't you be playing the games? Any game that has an armor called "shard plate" and a magic called "high storm" needs to be played. Now. I'm not even kidding, when I saw those names in the game, I jumped up and did a little squeal for joy. Oh, and a sword is called Shard. So you can literally use Surgebinding while having Blade and Plate. So play the games, and read the book.
  10. I think that Demoux (as of The Way of Kings) probably has some hemalurgic swag going on. But I'm pretty sure that he never was a Mistborn, unless someone gave him another bead of lerasium. I doubt that Sazed made Demoux a mistborn also, just because Spook wouldn't be called the Lord Mistborn if he wasn't the only one.
  11. I think that you are thinking about Mistborn Prime and Final Empire Prime. Off the top of my head, there isn't really anything from Aether of Night that is in mistborn (other than the cosmerical conflict, but that is kind of a behind the scenes that also isn't that similar). But the setting, the magic, and the characters are wildly different. I mean, wildly.
  12. I'm kind of seeing parallels between Shen and (Aiden?) from Elantris. Or at least, I'm seeing potential characters. I mean, as he is now, he's more of a pet then anything else, but I could see him getting his intelligence back and helping them out during the climax of the book, be it this one or any other SA book.
  13. Ooh, yeah that's going to be an interesting chapter. But what I want to see more is how he reacts to the mega highstorm opposite it in the year.
  14. Wut. I really, really like this idea, I mean, really. There are just a few obstacles, like Mab's description of being stout not matching the tall terrisman, but i really like it.
  15. I'm sorry, I couldn't read the small text. But Mistborn is my favorite series ever. Prepare to die. But just in terms of redundancy, I think that Lift's powers would be more similar to Feruchemical gold than Stormlight, and that alone bars (in my mind) the possibility of Stormlight being like Feruchemical gold. I mean, that kind of takes out any of the awesomeness of Growth as a surge.
  16. Ooh, I like the cognitive aspect of Parshmen. In the cosmere, that's actually really plausible. Upvote for you, good sir! Also, with that theory, maybe Shen becomes Parshendi as a part of Kaladin's insistence on treating him as part of the crew.
  17. Speaking of Dalinar, if we get any more sneak preview Words of Radiance chapters, I really really really want it to be Dalinar. Really. All joking aside, I feel that Dalinar is the person who's role in life has changed the most, and we haven't seen a single thing about that. Since he is the High Prince of War now, the fighting on the Shattered Plains (i.e., the coolest thing ever) will be drastically changed.
  18. Stormlight is still closer to Allomantic pewter than Feruchemical gold, though. I remember there being a quote about Feruchemical gold being able to heal Shardblade cut limbs, which Stormlight cannot do.
  19. Uggh. Yeah, that was one of the problems of Wheel of Time. EVERY main character would never tell anyone else what they knew. It kind of got old after a while. I don't want to see that happen to SA.
  20. How about the two sci fi one? Those are the only ones I have not read
  21. Welcome to the masses of Brandonoligers. Have fun.
  22. Umm... hey guys? I've read white sand too, but if we aren't going to discuss it, then let's not discuss it. (No matter how badly I really, really want too. )
  23. Hi all. Since I'm kind of new to the site, I'm not entirely sure if this has been brought up before. But has anyone else noticed how in the title pages for parts 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the Way of Kings, they have various Radiant Blades? And only ONE of these is the Windrunner. I'm not sure what the other ones are, but I think that one of them stands for Shallan's order, and the other one could show which order Dalinar or Adolin belongs to. Once again, I'm sorry if this has already been brought up.
  24. I like this idea. Maybe shardplate was already a lesser form of the power, and so the recreance or whatever it was that tainted the blades didn't affect it as much.
