  1. Grim made his way out of the Green Potato, mulling over the day's events. He couldn't believe people had turned to killing so soon; death in response to death? There was little logic in that. He knew inside, however, that it was only a matter of time before someone else was killed. Today's events made such inevitable. He realized Swimim had not made an appearance today. What had the man been up to? Grim had often thought that the man's rambling, oddly formed speech was a cover-up for a greater level of intelligence. That, or a sign of great stupidity. Could there be more to Swimim? So many things to keep in mind...
  2. I don't think we've seen anyone else from Rall Elorim, though. It could be unique to the city or to Iri.
  3. It's probably not Ashyn. We have this WoB (not direct): (edited for spelling of Ashyn) That doesn't sound like the "Tranquiline Halls" to me. Kind of a depressing place. I also doubt it's Braize (Damnation) was the Halls, because they are referred to as separate things and have different places within Vorinism.
  4. I wasn't sure he had written it already. I checked the coppermind article and it said "unpublished" which I mistakenly assumed meant it was already written.Cool that he's already started work on it. I imagined we wouldn't see this one for a long time, but maybe it'll come a bit sooner. I've always been interested in it. Is there a recording of Brandon reading from it?
  5. That's actually a great idea that the Hierocracy could have affected his nature. I missed that bit from Jasnah on my readthrough, and it is very interesting. The Hierocracy was essentially a hijacking of everything Vorin, and the ideals it promotes. Such an event could well have changed the Stormfather's nature significantly. That and, of course, the Recreance could go a long way to help us comprehend his current nature. He has kind of gone nuts. I fear what he will do in the future, since he was ready to kill everyone on the Shattered Plains when the Everstorm came. Not very honorable, if you ask me.
  6. It may well have been Silently Gathered. Luckily, I just received a Surge of energy! I feel so rejuVinated! Although, if you could Elend me a hand, I would appreciate it. All this Wit has made me tired again.
  7. This is not an in-world swear, but Adolin did say that he has "shat" in Shardblade, showing that Rosharans may use other variants of our s**t. (I starred it to get around the filter, if the mods want me to remove that I will. )
  8. Unfortunately, I've lost so much blood, my skin is so Drab!
  9. I was fine when everyone stopped Rattling on... It would have been the Death of me.
  10. When 17th Shard begins interrupting your everyday life, you know you have become obsessed. After 8 months, this has finally happened to me.

  12. Oh no, people here don't care about spelling, as long as you get the point across. I've seen Hallandren spelled Hellendren or Hallendren, Scadrial spelled Scadrial. No one makes a big deal about it!
  13. Ketek is right. Sadeas isn't coming back any time soon. Frankly, with everything else WoR revealed, we really don't need him as a threat. His part in the story is complete, I believe. Jasnah's body couldn't have been an illusion, as she doesn't have access to the Illumination Surge. She is an Elsecaller, meaning she has Transformation (Soulcasting) and Transportation. Transportation provides the power of Elsecalling, which allows instantaneous travel and the ability to enter the other Realms "in the flesh". That's not the best term, it essentially means that the person can be as fully in the other Realms, at least the Cognitive, as they are in the Physical normally.
  14. There are numerous WoB about Roshar's solar system! Roshar is a very different planet in terms of the cosmere. It is inhabited by three Shards, more than we know of on any other planet. It is part of a solar system, named Greater Roshar, that actually has multiple Shardworlds in it. I don't think we have WoB on the order of the planets, but in terms of importance, Roshar is first. It has three moons, which cycle every night. They are Salas, Nomon, and Mishim, and appear in that order every night on Roshar. The next most important planet is Braize. This is referred to by Rosharans as Damnation, but I don't believe they know that it is an actual planet. Braize is where Odium is in present day Roshar. Beyond that, we really don't know anything about the planet, but it will become more important as the series goes on. Least important right now is the planet Ashyn. This planet is not inhabited by a Shard, as far as I can recall, but it does have some Shardic influence. Brandon has written a book entitled The Silence Divine set on Ashyn. He eventually intends to rewrite and publish this one. As far as we know, Ashyn will have no significance to the Stormlight Archive. I am not the most literate in theories, but I don't believe there are any significant theories pertaining to Greater Roshar. More information on these topics and similar ones can be found on the Coppermind.
  15. I exist! Welcome to the forums! Which books have you read?
  16. Imagine a party with Inquisitors and Dakhor Monks, since we know Hemalurgy can steal other systems as well. That is one party I would much rather not attend.
  17. I always capitalize all of those. I capitalize all Investitures. Ones I am not sure about are silver and splinter. I have seen both capital and lowercase for those. Listeners should not be capitalized, I know that is a weird one, especially since Parshendi is.
  18. Yeah, lets not kill anyone today. The story hasn't developed enough, people are still reacting to Paxen's death. Edit: there are also only 12 or so hours left in the day, and I assume most of that will be night for us in the real world. For me it is at least.

    Wayne?

I believe we have WoB that MeLaan gave Wax the earring, and also that the constable named Brettin was replaced by TenSoon.
  20. By spiked, I assume you mean Pahn Kahl? And I would bet your estimation us approximately accurate, 3 Pahn Kahl on each side out of 15, plus the four agents, making 10/30.
  21. Yeah, AonarFailieas has basically made all the relevant points. I just want to add, that Feruchemy being of both, not just Preservation, sort of fits into the more obscure relation between Preservation and Ruin themselves. They do not seem to be direct opposites on first glance; one generally thinks of creation as the opposite of destruction. In reality, creation is also a form of destruction, but its intent is different (see what I did there ). I always loved the amount of thought Brandon put into the two Shards' relationship. Neither could create on his own, so they needed to work together to do so. Ruin could change, and Preservation could contribute goodness, a desire to preserve. Ruin and Preservation are definitely the coolest Shard grouping we've seen thus far. I hope we get to dig deeper into Devotion and Dominion as well as Honor, Cultivation, and Odium in the future!
  22. Syl: To Be a Shardblade/spear Pattern: To Be a Shardblade Adolin: To Defecate in Shardblade Shallan: To Commit Both Matricide and Parricide
  23. I also liked that little reference to Geranid. I wish Navani had listened to Rushu; it would have been interesting to see that discussed. Alas, that will have to wait for later books. I laughed also thinking about Dalinar talking to Gawx. I hope Lift sticks with him. If they come to Urithiru, that would be amazing! I really want Lift to join the other Radiants.
  24. Did it happen do mention any specific books of his?
  25. Despite these WoBs, one should assume these are all subject to change. Between WoK and now, he has said a whole ton different things. Kaladin was getting another book for a while, Navani and Adolin were to get one, he has said another Herald other than "Taln" before. The only ones that he has stayed pretty consistent with are "Taln" and Jasnah, actually; the addition of Lift and Renarin is new. However, I have a feeling that he has a better idea of where he wants to take things now, with a second book out. I like the new set he has; I never cared about Navani and Adolin's backstories, but I really want Lift and Renarin. I suspect Rysn might be the last, though I have no evidence to support it beyond that she has been an Interlude character in both books.
