Way to crunch the numbers. Godspeed, Luke, Godspeed...

Good Juxtaposition.

I think it's cuz they're so damnation cute. It's like having a stuffed Koala Bear on your desk, minus the Chlamydia.

Given that Sadeas seems like a mustache twirler and a powder-puff for all of way of kings. Before pulling what would have been the most devastating and decisive political and military maneuver I can even imagine (at least is it weren't for that meddling Kaladin). I think its safe to say he will remain a relevant antagonist.
-
Wouldn't he be beholden to Sadeas? I mean if he lives in Sadeas' territory how is he going to help out Dalinar? Does he have the independence to do whatever he wants militarily?

17th Sharder's Guide to Words of Radiance
The Rooster replied to bartbug's topic in Stormlight Archive
Congrats! I have a 5mo . It gets better! Sleep will come. As far as reading the book. I'm rereading the preview chapters the day of then reading the whole way thru wile live blogging. I actually have the blogs for the preview chapters all written up. I think this will force me to take my time and savor it. -
Noice!

I feel like someone using surges at the top of their game could create similar destruction. The KR and Heralds were essentially human and wielded great power. I'm hoping we overtly encounter one in WoR.

What about the Ten Fools. From the epigraphs it sounds like at least one of them is in the Karbranth Hospital. “Re-Shephir, the Midnight Mother, giving birth to abominations with her essence so dark, so terrible, so consuming. She is here! She watches me die!” Dated Shashabev, 1173, 8 seconds pre-death. Subject: a darkeyed dock-worker in his forties, father of three.

I shall Necro this topic by eating it's black heart. Recently finished the first book I really really liked it. Very kinetic, a read that literally pulls you thru and keeps the pace up. Book two I'm in the middle of and it's a slower read but the prose is still excellent and the story rocks. I can't wait to finish this trilogy I have a feeling it might be a modern classic. @Elwynm I totally agree on the Builders stuff. Its really cool. When they were approaching the Red Castle I was thinking (he's going to make this place inhospitable) how right I was... Yeesh.

Spoiler free review/reactions from TOR
The Rooster replied to Who Sharded?'s topic in Stormlight Archive
"A crude concoction made from leaching stormwater thru roasted rare Shin beans.. Exotic tastes were never my thing. Besides there are too many steps to the processing, too much opportunity for poisoning." You know you're too deep when before you post a fanfic quote you search for references to coffee that would discredit your statement in the ebook. -
That'd be sweet if it ends up being 1000 years later and the only characters to recurr woudl be main characters who took up heraldic mantles or became shards.

I'm not big on all of this bashing on Highprince Torol Sadeas, Highprince of Information of the great Kingdom of Alethkar. This is a man who demands respect not the scorn of off-worlders like you all. Who are you to judge the actions of the one man working for the betterment of all Alethi, I mean it's all about the conquest. Jah Kaved's King has just been murdered and if Highprince Sadeas has his way they will be ruled by Alethkar soon enough! Next, the WORLD! MUAHAHAHA

Yeah, this puts a damper on the (foolish) hopes that some of us had where he puts a spear thru Amaram's eye immediately after seeing him.

They are Mucho fun indeed. I've started writing them on my cell phone in evernote while I rock my 5 mo daughter to sleep. Its a really cool way to exercise the mind while in calm darkness. This is how far I got on one last night. It's not polished and needs some work but I find even unfinished keteks entertaining. Dreaming, between waking and sleep, young one cries, cried one, young sleep and woken between dreams. hahaha, I especially like that even when it doesn't really come together it makes them extra ethereal and existential.

Generally I stay away from topics like these because they depress me. But I was rereading the preview chapters and Kaladin his it over the head that Moash is his only friend many many times in those 3-4 chapters alone. I think he's our poutine candidate foot bucket kicker unfortunately. Maybe hrs just getting bit up tho. :-)

I don't know what they'll do for WOK but when I got the audible version of The Rithmatist there was a separate pdf file available on the audible website so that I could peruse the artwork.

Yeah I was debating this. While studying the form I deferred to the WoK ketek and I was having trouble finding the"5 ideas" properly divided by commas. So I went with this because it flowed better. This way I can say something pretentious like"the fifth idea its hidden and requires reflection"
-
Brandon retweeted my ketek (probably it was Peter,I know but still!) And Peter complimented it! Boo ya! I have a new favorite form of poetry.

Light weaver, recording oaths and taking images, uncovering images taken and oaths recorded, weaving light. I like keteks, way more fun than haiku.

The Bridge 4 logo short is LITERALLY make up of Words of Radiance. Look at the close up view and you can read "I will protect...". Holy crap
