  1. I just finished up a re-read and the thing that really strikes me is how obvious it is that The Thrill is of Odium. From Dalinar's POV when it gets it's claws in him it's like (poorly paraphrased) "This is what he was made for, killing! Glory! Why did he worry about other things?" The when he gets the revulsion I believe it's the battle within him, the power of Honor trying to right the ship. That's why he revolted. It's two influences making a battleground of his body.
  2. I think any animal that is supernaturally large has a gem heart. I think it has to do with the spren that are co-simbiotic to make it possible for them to survive at such size. The spren link them to power then the gem heart is probably the magic waste since they don't emit stormlight. Maybe even parshmen and parshendi has little ones and this is why they're so scared of people messing with their corpses. Thus "I've heard that voidbringers hold stormlight perfectly". This may be a new theory as I think it out loud. Brandon is always cagey about questions like this ... I'm convinced I'm onto something.
  3. Holy Moley I'm a Shard

  4. I think the difference its the Nahel bond. Wielding means glowing armor and KR-hood. Bearing its what people do now with blades and plate. I like it tho. There's allot of power that used to be honor. Its somewhere and potentially re collecting.
  5. If you look back to the chapter from the perspective of Cenn in WoK Kaladin is lousy with knives and daggers. He keeps two in pouches that are strapped to his modified spear when he serves in Amaram's army. Edit for clarification for non US members : To be lousy with something means to have it in excess, I'm NOT saying that he isn't good with a dagger, Stormfather forbid!
  6. We finally get to see the full HD glory of the cover on Tor. It looks for the most part exactly like the first except for the Kaladin stuff. It might be worth it to put both side-by-side and see if there were any changes to Szeth Son Son Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar. Edit: The only thing that pops out new to me is the insignia on the shield of Szeth's slain enemies. It looks like he's killed mostly Light-eyes, since the pile is full of fully armored folks and mostly swords. Can anyone make anything out of the shield, It looks like two X's surrounding.. an eye?
  7. Journey before destination. I'm not an "Ends Justify the Means" kind of guy. I think that Amaram is, and that he's not bad, but I hope that he does get taken to task and shown the error of his wicked ways.
  8. Woah cool. I see that Forsworn is out now, I hope it's as good as Hope's End, that one is awesome. When I got my book signed in November at the Mentor Barnes and Nobel he said he'd definable have a release signing even there for CC. Tho as a beta reader you probably have a better idea about that than me. He's super nice!
  9. I really enjoy them all.
  10. YOU MUST CHOOSE
  11. I'd say the biggest topic of debate I've seen on the forums lately has been whether or not Amaram is the scum on the earth. I have to say I've undecided and awaiting further information, but for this poll you don't have that luxury. Right now, before the release of WoK what do you think of Amaram. Bad , OK or EXTRA Bad those are your options. Begin
  12. I find it interesting that Syl reveals she is the only Honorspren in the physical realm. How the heck is Kaladin supposed to turn 2000 bridge men into a bunch of badass wind runners without Honor spren?
  13. Guys I don't think I can take this. It's so close but SO FAR AWAY! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself for another month. These little teases are too much! Stormfather I just want to tear thru it!
  14. Arrrrg! Should have been Mine!
  15. More like desolation before gurney. Hahaha
  16. Here's a thing I just thunk. What if the key to surviving the coming desolation won't be winning, but just maintaining the status quo and keeping the oath pact. Therefor I postulate the Heralds Must Die! (thus the church hymn pun title). Alright guys tear it apart! I think this one will spark a good conversation. My suggestion is killing Nalan first. He seems like a jerk.
  17. I think I'm seriously going to freak out if it's not March 4th soon.

  18. I can totally empathize. I have the audiobook, Harcover and ebook preordered. This series to me is the living personification of.
  19. So the real question is Who was the DaVinci of the Stormwardens (ohh wait we already surmised this above, Taravangian). Does this mean he has plans for a flying machine?
  20. Cowardicespren more like.
  21. Good point BF I believe it was said in the Original Trilogy that Kredik Shaw was created by the LR for this very purpose.
  22. I doubt its the gem lighting as well. I'm sure every palace in Roshar (Save any place in Shinovar) is light via stormlight. That would make the Gods blind to all rulers.
  23. This thing... Is beneath him. He is cook!
  24. Yeah it's called whispersync and it matches your kindle spot to the audiobook. It's not available for all books tho.
  25. It's finally up ya'll. I'd actually caution preordering right now because the art displayed is still the V2 version with buff Non-Rambodin. And in my experience the cover art available when you buy is what you're stuck with on Audible. My Addadon's Gate and Daylight war audiobook covers in the app are just text because that's how it was when I bought them, despite audible later adding the cover art. No matter if I re-download or even re-install the app it never changes. Ohh my God, it's listed as 46 hours! I have a business trip planned on release day so I'm spending the majority of my time listening up front. I'm relieved this is completed.
