This seems plausible, but may not be the most efficient approach in the world. Brandon stated once that it is theoretically possible to take Stormlight out of dead Shardplate. So, I wouldn't be too surprised to find that you could take it from a living plate. This I'm less sure about. I can't think of any evidence that lesser spren are making any kind of Connection to the SR when the manifest in the Physical Realm. And, in fabrials at least, they seem to consume Stormlight rather than generate it. A third option would be to find a way to split Towerlight back into its base components. Navani would be the best person to do this, but she's a bit removed from play right now. However, her notes and the in-universe Rhythm of War are both in Urithiru. Along with the Alethi's best artifabrians and Zahel (who seemingly single-handedly figured out how to create anti-voidlight).

The "Ado" part is the Light. Technically, the Alethi word for light is "Adoda". We know this from a conversation in Oathbringer Adolin's name; which means "Born unto Light". I'm guessing Ashkaloda was referring to a topic similar to this one. Where they translated the phonetic glyphs on the borders of BAM's illustration. They didn't get all the way to "Child of Light and Music" in the specific topic I linked. But I could see how you would get there from what they had.

It's probably just not worth it. In the WoK scene you referenced, they collected the pocket change of 2,600 men (many being lighteyed soldiers) and it was still going to take days to fully recharge the armor. Carrying thousands of gems for such a slow infusion seems impractical. Plus, the infusion may not happen passively. We don't really see how it works, but it sounds like Dalinar's armorers need to actively "feed" Stormlight to his plate. If I had to guess, they're probably using something similar to the the Arnist Method to move light from their smaller gems into the 10 large gems attached to the Shardplate. As a side note, I wonder if the Alethi can mend Shardplate faster now that they know the Vriztl Guild's method for transferring light faster using tuning forks. What happened with Kaladin and the helmet-gauntlet is probably similar. Radiants seem capable of transferring Stormlight at much faster speeds than any artifabrian can manage. I'd love to see one of the more "scholarly" orders devote themselves to fabrial crafting in the future.

I think you missed the entire point of the Sunmaker's Gambit. I'd maybe re-read the epilogue for WaT. It's no longer just Roshar vs Retribution. It's the entire Cosmere vs Retribution. Hoid said now is Roshar's best chance to act. I'm proposing that They continue to fight a war now that entire planets of reinforcements are coming Against a coalition that is greatly divided With many potential options for replacing Stormlight (and many resources like the Unoathed who don't even need Stormlight) While breaking a "treaty" that's largely stacked in favor of the bad guy With up to TEN Shards on their side (Ambition, Devotion, Dominion, and Virtuosity are dead) While a victory would almost certainly not destroy their world because it would end with a good guy holding the Shards

I thought of that too. Brandon once said a Bondsmith fabrial doesn't exist. But I don't think he has said that one couldn't exist. However, it would probably involve shoving the Sibling, Nightwatcher, or Syl into a gem. Or getting them to transform into some kind of fabrial (Soulcaster style). That or you just set up a really long extension cord from Urithiru since the tower kind of is a giant Investiture generator.

Fabrials would be a great way to go. It'd be an extra drain on Stormlight, but you could theoretically use them to imitate any of the Surges. As technology increases, I'm also curious about the role that synthetic gems will play in powering Shardplate and fabrials. Brandon has said before that synthetic gems would be as effective as real ones. Right now, perfect gems are a scarce resource, but that may change. Smaller, more efficient batteries are always a huge benefit. If you want a "greener" solution that sucks up less Investiture, I'd look to Sprouter tech. Zephyr and Crimson spores have some great offensive potential. Or you could use Roseite spores as temporary patches for damaged plate.

Defeating Taravangian wouldn't necessarily be the end of the Storms. Someone kinder could take up Honor and/or Odium instead. It's not like the Shards would completely disappear. They'd just change hands again. Sunlit Man spoilers:
-
What would they achieve by overthrowing the tyrannical megalomaniac who plunged the entire continent (minus Azir) into an endless night? Freedom? Happiness? Sunlight? Stormlight? A chance to not be fodder in a Cosmere-wide war with the other Shards?

How long will it take for Shallan to get back?
Jult replied to Atlas333's topic in Stormlight Archive
I do kind of wonder if she'll go this route. Almost entirely because of this WoB (spoilers for Warbreaker): -
I like him a lot. He's a pretty strong contender for my favorite Cosmere character. I've never seen the Brandon quotes provided above before, but "Raoden is something of a superman" brings a smile to my face. I've been a diehard Superman fan for decades.

I feel the same way. I don't think it will come up in Elantris 2 at all. Because Elantris 2 was supposedly only going to be a decade or so after Elantris 1. But Elantris 3 was planned to be "hundreds of years later". I'm speaking in the past tense because Brandon has suggested he will be revising both of those things. WoBs: So maybe Elantris 3 would fall around the right time for Retribution to launch an attack? I think Sel has enough going on to fill 3 books on its own easily, so if there is a Rosharan attack, I'd probably expect it to be something like Elantris 3's epilogue scene.

I was actually thinking this after reading your previous post. It's possible that there is no contradiction between TWoK and the World Guide. Perhaps Mishim just shrunk after Cultivation's departure? And it stole the title of smallest moon as a result? Most sections of the World Guide do describe the current post-WaT state of Roshar. Idk. I'd say doubtful, but not impossible.
-
Just a shot in the dark, but during WaT Dalinar had visions of "himself" (probably the Blackthorn copy that Taravangian retrieved from the Spiritual Realm) in Black Shardplate conquering a city with "high walls" and a "strange pale moon". He also had one of those weird Shardguns in the vision. Sel has a pale moon (WoB) and Elantris has high walls. So, it sounds like Roshar may be invading Sel at some point (we do have two Elantris sequels coming out eventually). Could Aheleha be on Sel? Potentially even just a new name for Elantris after it was conquered by Roshar?

The relative sizes of the moons that I listed came from the Coppermind, but I did some digging around to see if I could find any exact quotes on their size differences. And I interestingly found conflicting statements. TWoK Chapter 2 (Kaladin's perspective): Mishim is also described as small in TWoK. I actually couldn't find a quote that specified Nomon as the largest, but there are several times that it is called the brightest, which I guess is why the Coppermind entry assumes it to be the largest. Since a bigger surface area would reflect more light (though there are other ways to be the brightest). Chapter 3 of the Stormlight World Guide for the RPG does call Nomon the largest. However, Mishim is listed as the smallest instead of Salas: I'm not sure which source to trust more. The World Guide is obviously much more recent than TWoK. But it's also a secondary source. As a fun bonus, there is also an image of the 3 moons in the World Guide (which does also depict Mishim as smaller than Salas):

I would disagree with this. Brandon has confirmed that a Leecher (a Chromium Misting) CAN drain breaths: If a Misting can separate someone from their Breaths, I'd be very surprised to find that a God Metal can't. This is a harder question. Even though you can likely remove it, I think it would still be keyed to the original owner's Identity; which would render it pretty unusable for you. I'd actually be pretty curious to see what the community thinks will happen if you reverse the Raysium so you can "inject" yourself with the Breath? My guess is it wouldn't do much. It'd probably be similar to that scene where Vin tried to burn Sazed's earring in Era 1 Mistborn. You'd be aware of the Investiture, but unable to use it. The interaction between Axindweth and Vasher would still make sense under this assumption. Even if she could force the Breaths out of Vasher, they would be useless to her. So, she'd want to get them the old-fashioned way.
-
If this were the case, wouldn't Nomon, Salas, and Mishim be made of the same material as the original moon? Tanavast didn't seem to recognize it. Or do you think the possibly-duralumin metal formed when the falling moon pieces were heated during re-entry? Sel also had aluminum fragments rain from the sky in its history. They remained aluminum, but maybe there was no copper for the Selish aluminum to alloy with (assuming duralumin is our mystery metal)? We know that they're very small. WoB: And not of a uniform size. Salas is the smallest, Nomon is the largest, and Mishim is somewhere in the middle. Running numbers on them might be hard though. They have very unstable and unnatural orbits.

Not to nitpick, but he hasn't said "impossible" as far as I know. Just "highly unlikely".

Is the Nahel bond a two way street?
Jult replied to TacoBellChoutaMeal's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm gonna go with a strong "probably". We do know that the Nahel bond creates some form of psychic connection where bondmates can read each other's thoughts. So, this may have just been Sak and Rokke reading Dusk's mind - not necessarily using the power themselves. So, I'd reckon that Design would be able to see the same blue lines as Hoid (lines tethered to him). This is more just a sharing of sensory information than her using the power. But could bondmates use the power themselves? Could Design steelpush? Can she draw Aons (I feel like Cryptics would be scary good at this)? The only two examples I can think of for Spren using non-Surge abilities are Design and Aux. Design does some weird manipulation of Yumi and Painter's Connection that allows them to move further from one another. And Aux also pulled some Connection shenanigans to help Hoid find Sigzil on Canticle. Aux also seems to be in control of Sigzil's Skipping ability. These all seem like the Spren manipulating powers that come from their human partner (sometimes even without the human's consent or knowledge). The obvious problem with these two examples is that they involve two of the most unique individuals in the Cosmere. -
Yeah I don't think a very detailed Path would be necessary. I at first considered something similar to the Artifabrian tree. Like start with a slightly modified version of the Prized Aquisition talent to craft a specialized gem spike for the purpose of capturing stealing a specific spren attribute. But then I literally couldn't think of another talent that a Hemalurgist would even need. As you guessed, I went with the option proposed above mainly for balancing. Because a level two player who chooses to go full Inquisitor and spike himself 11 times sounds overpowered. However, the more I think on it, that player may be in the same party as someone playing a Mistborn... I have no idea how natural born Mistborn are going to work from a balance perspective. It feels like they'd have to start with the equivalent of 16 talent points unless you throw some really arbitrary restrictions on them. Breaking Hemalurgy into 4 separate talents (maybe Physical, Cognitive, Spiritual, and Temporal) doesn't seem like too much of a stretch. Each talent would require you to learn the metallurgical natures of 4 metals and the correct stabbing point for those spikes. It's a little off canon, but explainable because some effort needs to go into learning that information. I don't see how to do something similar for a Mistborn without it feeling super limiting. Their powers are much more instinctual and readily available.

Homebrewing a Hemalurgy path would be interesting. It's not like being a Hemalurgist comes with a ton of unique skills. It'd mainly be borrowing talents from other paths. Or maybe it would look similar to the Singer Ancestry tree but instead of unlocking 2 forms with each talent point, you'd unlock the knowledge to create/use 2 or 3 types of spikes?

I've heard that Silverlight moves approximately 10 times slower than the rest of the Cosmere. But I can't find a source for that number. There could be advantages to that kind of slowdown though. Banking and lending come to mind. Imagine only aging 1 year but being able to collect 10 years-worth of loan payments and interest from someone on the outside. You could hoard wealth like a dragon. You could also bring some items to Silverlight, sit on them for 10 years of Silverlight time, and then return to your homeworld with super "well-preserved" century-old antiques. Storage of perishable items would also probably make a good market. An outsider could drop off some fruit, travel for 10 weeks standard time and then return to his 1-week-old fruit afterwards. It sounds like Silverlight is a bit of a revolving door though. They get constant visitors from the outside, so I wouldn't really expect them to fall behind on tech. It's not like they only hear from the outside once per year and need to catch up a decade each time. If they get a new visitor/message every Silverlight minute or so, then that's not really much worse than missing 10 minutes of outside news. It's also possible that they're just so much more technologically advanced that even with the time dilation they're more efficient than outsiders. If this post got written & uploaded at 1/10th the speed, I'd still be pretty confident that it was faster than writing you a letter by hand and mailing it.

Two more bonus portal options: The 'Compass of Spirits' from TLM's broadsheets - we know very little of the origins of the Compass. And only know that it helps you enter the Cognitive Realm by opening a portal. It's unclear if it works in the other direction. Hoid used some weird hourglass-shaped device to send Sigzil to the Cognitive Realm in WaT. Seemed like the kind of thing that can't be used under normal circumstances though. It might also be a one-way trip. It may also be worth mentioning [massive spoilers for the unpublished Aether of Night novel]:

Technically no. They could both be true. It could even be the case that Valor forms a relationship with the 4th Spren that is similar to Honor & Wind or Cultivation & Night. They could also both be completely wrong. As Treamayne said, there may not have even been four moons at once. There may have been one original moon that shattered and then three new ones that appeared later in response to the arrivals of Honor, Cultivation, and Odium. That's another popular idea. It's hard to say if that would happen with all primeval spren. But it's an interesting point. I can't think of any funky impacts to the day/night cycle (I mean obviously there's an endless night post-WaT, but nothing seemed funky for the thousands of years between the 4th moon falling and WaT). There are some funky water things worth noting. Like the Weeping or the Great Abyss. Also, the Origin is somewhere out on the seas. The other Shard is most likely Reason. Tanavast mentions that he disappeared in WaT Chapter 115:
