  1. Happy to do it! I really enjoy this game, so I'd love to inspire some more activity on this forum. Also, I noticed that I mentioned A-Steel and F-Electrum in my initial post, but didn't have screenshots of them so I went back to check where I saw them. Similar to F-Chromium, they're barely there as she flips through the pages, but I can barely make out: F-Electrum: Go With the Flow - While storing determination, resisting influence costs 1 focus more, but you gain an advantage on Insight and Persuasion. Endless Agreeability - While storing determination, when you choose not to resist influence, recover 2 focus and learn key information. Adamant Resolve - Tap Determination and spend additional charges to shorten but amplify its effects, and to ignore your injuries. A-Steel is so fast that I can only kind of make out the talent names: Coin Sharpshooter, Steelpush Adept, Bubble Shield, and something that looks like "Leveraging Brace" - very unconfident in that one.
  2. That's what I thought. The shifting distances and the arrangement of the land and sea are things I've thought about often. But I never thought about the default form of objects changing... Like if the mists become far less well known on Scadrial, and electricity becomes a mainstay in everyday life for a Scadrian.. Then there's a possibility that the 'Expanse of Vapor' might need a new name reflecting their new 'shocking' subastral.
  3. I know they change to reflect the layout of the Physical Realm and distances between regions can also change based on the perception of the inhabitants of the related physical space. But what about the materials that the "seas" in the subastral manifest as? Can those change? Like was there a time in Roshar's history where spheres hadn't been invented yet and Shadesmar was filled with something other than glass beads? I guess they all must have started as Emberdark before something formed there. But if spheres become uncommon and forgotten in Roshar, would something new become the default in Shadesmar?
  4. I grabbed a few more yeah. I was nervous I about breaking some forum rule I don't know about. So, I didn't want to upload too much.. But I guess Brotherwise posted it publicly, so I doubt it could get me in much trouble. Here's a few more! The Agent and Envoy trees (new branches tailored to Scadrial): F-Iron and F-Copper (or at least the right half of each tree): F-Chromium was also quickly flipped by, but I couldn't get a shot that was clear enough to bother posting. I did some squinting and there are 3 near-legible skills: Whispers of Destiny - After a test, spend 1 charge to feel how impactful the upcoming scene will be and become Focused when an important person, place, or moment arrives. Right Time - While tapping Fortune, use the Ready Action as a Free Action. Right Place - When a scene begins, spend charges to Move once for each charge spent. A-Bendalloy (shown in full): The pages I grabbed for our local Hemalurgy expert:
  5. You're welcome. Some things that caught my eye in no particular order: No Fullborns allowed. I'd guess that is more of a game mechanic than a lore implication. But it's still interesting since the Stormlight rules don't do something similar by preventing you from bonding 9 Spren. Both Metallic Arts use Cognitive skills. Allomancy uses Willpower and Feruchemy uses Intelligence. Savantism will be a thing. Hemalurgical Spikes will be items in the game instead of Hemalurgy having its own Path; which makes sense to me. I do wonder if the spikes will come with certain limitations. According to the ToC, they dedicated as many pages to spikes as they did to the Misting Path - so it sounds like they won't be too simplified. Atium Allomancy and Feruchemy are in the Table of Contents. Not sure why this surprised me given its significance in Era 1, but I did need to do a double-take when I counted 17 metals. GMs are encouraged not to get too picky about the availability of metals except for the very rare ones (Temporal and God Metals) There are apparently rules around crafting Metal Minds.
  6. I'm just going to grab all of the trees because that's probably the most interesting to most people. You may need to squint a bit to see the pre-requisites, but it's all pretty readable to me. Ferring and Feruchemist: Misting and Mistborn: Twinborn: @Trusk'our I've DM'd you some more stuff.
  7. I've been re-reading various scenes and WoBs related to Jasnah because there seems to be some heavy disagreement on both sides of this discussion which surprised me. And I think I've moved my stance from "Yes, she's a monster" to "she is wildly inconsistent". She has tons of noble ideals and goals that she does execute like more gender equality and ending slavery. And often seems to greatly value even the common people on both sides of the conflict. But, at the same time, she's got one of the highest kill counts in the series. Including several murders. And she doesn't seem to regret any of them. And many of them aren't for the sake of survival - they are for the sake of convenience. She acknowledges that there are other options and chooses assassination - rather than leaving it as a last resort. She kills enemy soldiers in a grandiose fashion as a play earn respect. And on multiple occasions goads people into situations where she is "justified" to fight back with unnecessary lethal force. Her actions just don't add up to me. I called her a hypocrite earlier, but I think it's deeper than that. Several WoBs mention that she has some form of mental illness (like much of the main cast). I'm thinking that once we know what that illness is, some of her more... colorful actions will make more sense. Also, a side note: there are many things about Jasnah that I like. I don't want to come across as hating the character. I'm just highlighting her flaws because they're relevant to this discussion. She's actually a favorite of mine. She's a forward-thinking atheist and I identify with that. It's also probably why I find it so jarring when she does a 180 and starts casually disintegrating people. Or when she rams her sword through Ruthar's neck while he's refusing to duel her. Side-side note because Moash's name keeps oddly popping up (Major Mistborn Era 1 spoilers):
  8. It's pretty legible on my PC. If there's any bits you're really curious about and can't see, just give me a timestamp and I'm happy to check what it says.
  9. Another new Mistborn RPG clip just dropped. With peeks at the skill trees for Mistings, Ferrings, Allomancers, Feruchemists, and Twinborns. Also new Scadrial-flavored branches for the Envoy and Agent trees. And (if you blink you miss it) just a little slip of a Hemalurgy page: They didn't blur nearly as much as they did with all the Stormlight teasers. And she flips past several pages like A-Steel A-Bendalloy F-Chromium F-Copper F-Electrum F-Iron And some general notes on training Metallic Arts and how Atium works. Anyone catch anything else cool?
  10. And the Dalinar that burnt the Rift was a murderous madman, and yes evil. Dalinar also had a tiny bit of literal divine intervention from Cultivation that helped him with his redemption. The Kholin family as a whole is full of monsters. They talk about doing the right thing a lot, but they don't hold themselves to the same rules that they establish for everyone else. Taravangian proved it for Jasnah, but it's true for nearly all of them. Renarin and Navani are the exceptions (though they are still enablers). Jury's still out on Gavinor, but he's a special case. Dalinar, Gavilar, Elhokar, Aesudan, Adolin, and Jasnah are all murderers. But I'm pretty sure the only time any of them has spent in a cell was when Adolin chose to as a way to protest Kaladin's imprisonment. They are hypocrites. That being said, Adolin is basically already redeemed. And Jasnah seems to be having a pretty big internal crisis after losing her debate with Taravangian. I think she will push towards actually practicing what she preaches in the back half of the series. Whether or not that will make her a "good person" is a tedious philosophical debate in and of itself.
  11. This is very cool! I use Titancraft for modeling my minis too, but I've been making exclusively humans to this point. I never even thought about trying to make Singers and Spren (there's not an artistic bone in my body). Eager to see what else you create.
  12. I stand corrected. Perhaps OP was still mistaking the modifier for the skill rank? I just threw a level 6 Singer together and can pick Ambitious Mind
  13. I think I figured this out. If you're only at level 6, then your character is only in Tier 2 (see below snippet from the "Tiers of Play" section of the rules - spoilered for size). At Tier 2, your maximum skill rank should be capped at 2. So, you can't have the required 3 ranks in Discipline that you need for Ambitious Mind yet. This isn't very clear on the character builder IMO, but when they say: They are referring to the number of dots you've filled in on the Skill Ranks screen - Not the resulting skill modifier. I'm not sure which tool you are using for character building. My screenshot above is from Demiplane, but I imagine they all look similar. Sadly, this all means you won't be able to use Ambitious Mind until you can get a third skill rank into Discipline, which you won't be allowed to do until you hit Tier 3 at Level 11. Hope that helps.
  14. Sadly, it will not according to the RPG:
  15. Correct. Brotherwise (the designers of the game) meet regularly with Brandon, Dan Wells (Dragonsteel's Vice President of Narrative), and other Dragonsteel employees to make sure they don't add anything too contradictory. It's intended to be canon, especially the World Guides and story materials. With a couple of caveats: If it contradicts any of the actual novels, the novels win. Take any of the mechanical aspects of the game with a grain of salt. In order to gamify the system, they had to insert certain limits and constraints. For example, the 20-foot range mentioned above. We get an exact measurement for the sake of the game, but for lore purposes I'd probably just interpret that as Stonewards being able to use their abilities at a short distance and would not recommend getting hung up on the exact number.
  16. The skill tree from the Cosmere RPG starts with you only being able to use both Cohesion and Tension on objects you can touch. Eventually, the Cohesion tree unlocks a talent called Through the Stone that lets you "use your surges and their talents as though your reach is 20 feet, as long as there is a stone surface between you and your target that you can touch." Very coincidental choice of words, but the Tension tree has a Talent called Fine Control. It lets you "selectively change the rigidity of an object’s parts, allowing fine control much like the movement of muscles and tendons". It even directly notes some of the rope shenanigans you are describing (spoilered for length - I cut out a couple bits of text related to the game mechanics since those probably aren't of interest to anyone):
  17. Actually, we know he can use Lashings. Which I think implies he has access to at least Gravitation and probably Adhesion too: From the context, it sounds like he just picked them up via Kaladin and Syl. So, he didn't need the Windrunner Honorblade. Personally, I do hope there's some special tip he's missing from the Bondsmith blade that prevents him from doing Bondsmith-type things even if he does have access to Tension and Adhesion.
  18. Well, she doesn't. Truly no idea why I wrote BAM. I was thinking of Shmone. Got a wire crossed in my brain somewhere. There's something stronger than basic decency there. She risks her status for him several times by just kind of letting him go during battles. Plus, she challenged the Pursuer in front of the Nine just to protect Kaladin. The Heralds may have died less, but they also had to deal with thousands of years of being tortured until they broke - something the Fused are exempt from. I don't remember the quote about violent Fused staying sane and can't find it either - but it does sound like something someone would say about the Pursuer. I did find a quote about rebirths causing madness while looking: Oh wow. I really imagined there being more. If anything, you're being generous with 3,000 sane Fused. Sigzil notes in WaT 47 that the Heralds state there are about 4,000 total Fused in existence. And Raboniel tells Venli in RoW 51 that no new Fused have been added since their initial creation. So, it's really just been the same 4,000 the whole time. Even so, I still think the love story thing is okay. Not great, but okay. At the end of the day, the Fused are just people.
  19. The book doesn't give an exact timeline. But I'd place it somewhere between Oathbringer and the end of Wind and Truth. All it really establishes is that a Fused betrayed Odium's forces to help a Lightweaver that he fell in love with. Location-wise it takes place in Marabethia (that narrow strip of land between the Purelake and the Reshi Sea). Another hint about the timeline is that the Skybreakers are still aligned with Odium.
  20. Doesn't really strike me as any less likely than BAM loving a Radiant. And I love playing devil's advocate. So, I've got 4 points I can think of in favor of this romance: One- As stated already, we've seen that Fused are capable of respecting and genuinely caring for humans through Leshwi and Raboniel. I don't think we saw love from either of them towards humans, but love doesn't seem like a huge leap from care and respect. Two- It also might be worth noting that the Fused in this RPG Scenario is a Masked One. We haven't interacted with many of them, but I suspect the Masked Ones might tend to be a bit more sane than some of the other brands of Fused. Being reborn over and over is one of the biggest contributors to the madness we see in the Fused. But Masked Ones aren't usually combatants. I'd wager that they, on average, have far fewer rebirths under their belts than say a Devastating One. Three- Odium's influence over the emotions of the Fused and Unmade seems far from absolute unless he really focuses in on them. Just from their general vibe, I think a Masked One would be good hiding his feelings and avoiding that focus. Four- The Era of Solitude lasted a looong time. The Fused talk about 7,000 years of war, but it was more like 3,000 years of Desolations and then a 4,000-year break. Maybe 4,000 years is enough time to re-evaluate your hatred of humanity? Is it a likely scenario that a Fused would love a Radiant? Probably not. But this is one outlier in millions of combatants. It doesn't bother me much.
  21. Yeah, I don't think it's made of Investiture either. I've always viewed them as similar to Commands in Awakening. So, them being erasable doesn't sound impossible to me. But it always felt like such an intrinsic part of what a Shard is. It just being 'gone' feels wrong to me. Like, is it really that simple? Intents have caused some pretty big headaches for the Vessels. If one of them figured out that Intents can be removed so early in the Cosmere's history, then why has it never been done since (as far as we know)? Side note: If Ambition's Intent truly is just gone. It seems like that would also mean the damage to Ambition is irreversible. Which puts a damper on many of the theories about Adonalsium someday being reassembled. I'd actually be a bit pleased if that's the case. I've never been a fan of those ideas.
  22. My theory is she wasn't on either side and just showed up to finish off whoever was losing. Like a mercy-killing that also put a quick end to the destruction. But I have a tendency to assume unknown Vessels are bad people until proven otherwise.
  23. I can't wait to find out more about Mercy. I'm soo curious to know what she was doing there. And whose side she was on. And how she was affected by it all.
  24. I'm very interested in this because it could be very significant to other Shards. I'd really like to know if Odium performed one action that had both consequences (Intent removed and Investiture inverted) or if those were two distinct actions that he took. I'm leaning towards both being a consequence of one action. Mainly just because the other option feels too convenient, I guess? If there were some method to remove a Shard's Intent without inverting its Investiture, then I feel like Leras would have included it in his plans for stopping Ruin. Or Rayse would have used it when he killed Tanavast. Or Taravangian would have used it before he picked up Honor (assuming he learned it from Odium's memories). But, if the only way to do it is to cause a catastrophic event and create more Evil like Odium did when he fought Ambition, then I could see why no one has done it since.. that we know of.
  25. I'm really surprised I haven't seen this one discussed more. He "removed" Ambition's Intent. Is the Intent just gone now? Does it live on in Odium? Did he rework it into an Unmade? Where'd the Intent go? I wonder if that means Aviar can gain other Invested abilities from their partners, like Surges. Wait a minute... Could Lift's Chicken gain Abrasion and Progression?! Is this foreshadowing!? THIS is something that bothers me about the lack of info we have on the Nahel bond. Is it a two-way street? It would be awesome. But I think it would also cause some problems. Like was Lift's chicken a Feruchemist when it was bonded to Gereh? Aux seems to have some level of access to Zellion's abilities. But then is Design able to access all the abilities Hoid has? She does do some weird voodoo that lets Nikaro's spirit move farther from his body which definitely feels outside of a normal Cryptic's abilities. And what about Seons? Is THAT a Nahel bond? Can Ien use Elantrian abilities? Is Olo also able to use Hoid's abilities? And I don't even want to think about Kelsier's Seon.
