Sorry, I wasn't very clear. They are one of the religions Sazed tells Kelsier about. Their leaders were killed, but the religion survived. More of the quote describing them is in the spoiler below. Mistborn 1

Thanks for running the game Joe. It had great mechanics, and I'd love to see it again with improved balance. Odium and his Champions, you all did great from beginning to end, and I want to congratulate you on sowing chaos to the end and not giving up. Also, thanks for the compliments on my plan. I'm glad I was able to do something helpful despite having no role and no extra information.

Bort, I'm sorry my actions last cycle lead to you being lynched instead of Jain. My only intention was to bring information to the table that no one else seemed to be considering so we could find Odium faster. I didn't mean to deflect suspicion from Odium. I honestly thought Splinter would have told someone if he learned someone couldn't receive investiture. At least now we've found Odium. Jain. I hope this lynch ends the game.

First, I want to lay out a simple plan to make sure that if we don’t lynch Odium this cycle, he doesn’t get a kill in and we lynch him next cycle. Right now there are five suspects. I am assuming at this point that there is not enough data on the ones that are not shards at this point to narrow down our suspects. I hope that Snoopy would have told us if there was. One of our suspects is Cultivation, one is Devotion, and one might be Endowment. One of the other two or three is Odium. Here I will refer to the five as Cultivation, Devotion, Suspect A, Suspect B, and Suspect C or Endowment. Snoopy and the Shards can assign these titles within their own PMs. These are the steps: 1. Lynch Suspect A. At this point that seems to be Bort. 2. During this Day cycle, Cultivation invests in Suspect B. This is not the person who is to be lynched. If Endowment is not among the five, it is the more suspicious of the two non-Shards left. If Endowment is among the five, it is the only non-Shard that is not lynched this cycle, and is more a formality than a necessity. 3. When this day ends, if Suspect A is not Odium, Cultivation tells Snoopy the results of their investment. 4. If Cultivation was unable to invest in Suspect B, we have found Odium. Snoopy roleblocks Suspect B, which prevents a kill. If Cultivation was able to invest in Suspect B, Suspect C must be Odium. Snoopy roleblocks Suspect C, which prevents a kill, and Devotion may attempt to invest in Suspect C if desired to prove that Suspect C cannot receive investiture. 5. Snoopy tells us who Odium is during the next Day cycle and we lynch Odium. This plan depends on both Cultivation and Snoopy seeing this and following through. I am laying it out like this because I want to give us the best chance of Odium not getting another kill, and I want to make sure this plan is out there instead of hoping Snoopy and Cultivation have come up with something. Second, I double checked my earlier list. I didn’t check all the names for each turn, but I did check that each person who I said had a three-turn streak of not posting actually had a three turn streak of not posting, and all of them checked out. I did notice that I had an error in the list I originally posted: I said I didn’t post on Day 8, but I actually did. However, I still didn’t post for three turns in a row on Night 5, Day 6, and Night 6, so I cannot be Odium. There may be other places on my list that aren’t completely accurate. Despite this, the list of who cannot be Odium is the same. Finally, here’s a vote tally: Bort (4): Tulir, Winter, Leif, luckat Meta (1): Alvron Snoopy has been on, so I hope he has checked off on Leif’s claim to be a Shard and is okay with the lynch on Bort. I’m voting for Bort as a cushion, even though it probably isn’t necessary. If Snoopy tells us to change, I will change my vote, but otherwise I won’t.

From Joe's rules: It is turns, not cycles. It applies to every shard except for Endowment (Joe made that note when I asked the questions). Joe said that I was understanding it correctly when I asked if he meant a consecutive night-day-night or day-night-day.

Alvron is not on that list because he has failed to post for at least three turns in a row after Mail died: Day 7, Night 7, Day 8 and Night 8. He is "Second" on my earlier list because I usually keep track of people by their RP names in my notes. I checked with Joe, and Odium will lose his Shard, even if there are no OCs for it to go to if he is inactive. Guys, Alvron isn't Odium. Stop voting for him!

We are nearly there. Araris was an OC, and is now dead, and he did not hold Odium, so the data we gathered before his death is still useful for finding Odium. Most of us think it likely that there were six Eliminators this game, and we’ve killed five of them, so there’s only one left. And that one holds Odium. If we can find and kill Odium now, we win. The sooner we find Odium, the better. I had a few questions about game mechanics that I wanted to clarify before posting this. I wanted to make sure that the information I presented was accurate and relevant. I am happy to report that most of my assumptions were correct and I have a short list of who can be Odium. While Shards have been investing in people to find Odium, I have been looking at another game mechanic: every Shard must be active to retain their Shard*. The activity conditions include both posting at least once every three turns and investing at least once every two cycles. As of yet, no Shard, including Odium, has changed hands due to inactivity. Also, one thing that I clarified with Joe was that Odium still must remain active to keep their Shard, even if there are no OCs for the Shard to go to, so lists of who hasn’t posted are still useful, even after Araris’s death. While it would be impossible for us to track who hasn’t invested, it is simple for us to track who doesn’t post. I had hoped others were doing this, especially the Shardic Coalition, but it appears based on who is up for the lynch that I was wrong. I have listed who hasn’t posted each turn since Odium change hands for others to see below. I do not guarantee that all of my data is completely correct, and it might be good for someone else to double check it. However, it is correct as far as I can tell. Anyone who has failed to post for three turns in a row at any point starting Day 5 cannot be Odium. <Mailliw dies> Day 5: Frank, Ash, Scree Night 5: Cleo, Frank, Leif, Animus, Ash, Scree, Cognition, Lu Day 6: Second, Animus, Scree, Piffletiff, Lu Night 6: Jain, Frank, Animus, Ash, Scree, Cognition, Lu Day 7: Second, Frank, Animus, Scree, Cognition Night 7: Second, Jain, Frank, Leif, Animus, Ash, Scree, Cognition, Lu Day 8: Second, Leif, Ash, Scree, Cognition, Piffletiff, Lu <Araris Dies> Night 8: Second, Jain, Frank, Ash, Scree, Cognition, Piffletiff, Lu If you read this list, you can find several people who have had at least one three-turn steak of not posting: Sarcomere, Tulir, Luckat, Feligon, Meta, Alvron, and Ash. In addition, we know Snoopy isn’t Odium because he is Hoid. From this, the list of players still alive who could be Odium is Jain, Bort, Winter, Leif, and Pifferdoo. Due to the method I used the same list includes two or three shards*. No other player in this game can possibly be Odium, and whichever players on that list are other Shards also cannot be Odium. I hope, with the information the Shards have of who has been invested in (and possibly who has been roleblocked) we can narrow down the list to only one this cycle. Because of how close to the end it is, and how slow and exclusive PMs are, I hope information is shared in the thread so we can discuss, come to a conclusion, and solidify a lynch well before the cycle ends. The only player on this list who has a vote on them at this point is Jain. If it is true that Honor was to invest in him during the last day cycle and didn’t say anything to anyone about getting a message back that he couldn’t, I would tentatively say that he is more cleared than anyone else on the list who doesn’t have more compelling evidence clearing them. This, of course, depends on the assumptions that Splinter actually went through with the investment and that he would tell someone if he found Odium instead of sitting on the information when he might die. Jain, Bort, Winter, Leif, Pifferdoo. Right now, we need to investigate each of these five players, and only these five. If the Shards come forward with their information, we will have even fewer that we need to look at. * According to Joe, Endowment is exempt from the inactivity conditions because they can only occasionally invest, so Endowment might not be on my list. Also, if what Meta says about having a hidden role is true, who knows how the inactivity conditions would interact with that?

I'm disappointed, but it's good to have that cleared up. I would like to point out that this is the second cycle in a row that there has not been anyone protected by Devotion. Devotion's investiture is the most visible of them all, and I hope the other Shards aren't also forgetting. I hope that this isn't indicative of the Shards' investment in the game, and I hope all the Shards have been sharing information with each other. Do you have a response to either of the other things I brought up? I haven't been paying much attention to this game because I thought the Shards had everything in hand and I've been using the time I have for these games on the Quick Fix. Now that that's over, I can turn to this one and help finish it off however much I can. I don't have any solid suspicions at this point, but my notes are mostly up to date. I just sent off a bunch of questions to Joe, the answers to which will partly determine how I go about trying to find Odium. When he gets back to me (which hopefully won't be too late in the cycle), I'll put together a post with my top suspects.

What are you talking about? Honor (Splinter) invests during the day (so the investee can use the power at night). Splinter should have had a chance to tell us during the night cycle if he got back a message that he cannot invest. If he didn't want to risk going public, he should have at least had a chance to tell Snoopy and the Shards. I have two questions for the Shards and Snoopy: 1. Why is nobody protected by Devotion this cycle? Did Devotion try to invest in Odium? (Please let this be the case, and if it is so, please come forward soon!) Or did Devotion not invest in a suspect? (If this is the case, I am really disappointed.) 2. Why did Honor die? Since he is the source of two protection abilities, I would have thought he should have a lashing on him every night, even if he was the least likely of the Shards to be attacked.

Quick Fix Game 6: A Time of Nightmares
luckat replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hero, thanks for running a great game! It was a lot of fun. Kas, I agree with everyone who has said that those were some really impressive and helpful messages. Joe, congrats on your awesome seeking streak, and good job making good use of the results. Nightmares, I think you all did well, especially considering the lack of communication. It was a game well played. Winter, Clare and Lily are lovers now, huh? Sounds good.- 218 replies

Is that all? Have you and the shards been using the plan I had earlier? I thought there would have been more players cleared of being Odium if you were. It appears Devotion didn't invest in anyone this cycle, and if that is true, I think it is a wasted opportunity. In addition, if you are using your role block, we could clear people of being both Odium and the attacking OC. If you have doubts about it, please tell me, but I really think it is the best way to find Odium with the fewest deaths. We've lost two shards since then, so its efficiency would be less at this point than it would have been earlier, but it would still be useful for Cultivation and Devotion, at least, to invest in separate players who could possibly be Odium. Maybe Honor too, depending on how much you want to risk possibly giving up a protective power. Sarcomere hasn't been on in over a week, so unless she can send orders through the doc, she can't be either Odium or an OC. Also, I've been trying to keep track of who hasn't posted each cycle, and so far my list of people who have neglected to post for at least three consecutive turns since Maill died is Sarcomere, Tulir, luckat, Feligon, and Meta. Since there is an OC for Odium to go to if Odium is inactive, I believe that these players cannot be Odium. Plus Ash was invested by Devotion. That leaves Alvron, Jain, Bort, Winter, Araris (the fact that he's a Voidbringer doesn't preclude him also being Odium, does it?), Splinter, Leif, and Pifferdoo as possibilities for Odium. (I'm leaving Snoopy off this list for obvious reasons.) Snoopy is sure of Winter, and lynching Araris again is pointless. I think we should vote for Alvron, Jain, Bort, Splinter, Leif, or Pifferdoo. I also think that Cultivation should invest in one of these 6 that isn't lynched. Since most of the safe shards are probably on this list (since I took people off the list for reasons that meant they couldn't be shards), Snoopy and the Shards should know who they should invest to find Odium by the next day cycle. In fact if at least three on this list are safe shards, if we lynch one of the remaining three and Cultivation invests in another, Honor doesn't even have to risk investing in a suspect this time for us to find Odium by the beginning of of this night. It could also mean that they want to break through any protection on a shard like they did with Ruin and that they don't want to kill normals because we are potential suspects and killing us would just bring them closer to being found. Here's the current vote tally Tulir (2): Bort, Jain Pifferdoo (1): Araris Bort (1): Tulir As I mentioned above, I don't think Tulir can be Odium because of inactivity, so I don't think we should lynch him. I don't really have strong suspicions at this point, so I don't know who to vote for right now. Plus I'm a little worried about picking a shard. There's a little under two hours left until the night. Let's figure out what to do by then.

@Alvron In your discussion of roles we haven’t seen yet, you left off Voidbringer. Also, since a shard is passed on after three turns without a post (as distinguished from cycles), Maill only would have had to wait until the end of this day for Odium to pass on. (His last post was on Night 3.) The writeup hints are a good point, although I'm not sure how much to make of them. If the Bloodsealer is Odium's, it appears they didn't know who Endowment was. So now we have four down. It seems likely to me that there’s only one or two left. One of them has the shard Odium, so they can kill shards now if they know who they are. It would be excellent if we were lucky enough to lynch Odium this turn and he was the only one left, but I think it is best to prepare now for the possibility that we mislynch by working on a plan to find Odium. Before, when Endowment had the names of all of the Shards, there was a list of people who could have been Odium, which the Shards used to find him. Now there is a list of who can be the new Odium: the people who are not Shards. One of these people has become a Shard. Assuming Odium works the same for its new holder as it did for the previous one, he will not be able to be invested by a Shard. I propose that all of the Shards currently alive try to find out who cannot receive investiture. There are 19 players left. Of these, six are shards, one is Hoid, and the remaining twelve are potential Odium candidates. Today we will lynch one of these twelve, and during this cycle five Shards can attempt to invest another five. If Odium is among these five, a Shard should receive a message that he cannot receive investiture. If not, the Shards can cover the other six through investiture and lynching during the next cycle. We should be able to find Odium by the beginning of Day 7. With the Shards’ information, they may be able to narrow down suspects and find him even earlier. If there is still another OC left after we kill this Odium, we can repeat the process. (The second time will take longer if Odium is successful in killing Shards, but it should be just as effective.) There is some danger in this plan in that it calls for giving power to prime suspects rather than those that are trusted. However, Odium will not receive this investiture, or hopefully even discover what he would receive. Anyone who does receive investiture can be instructed by Hoid. They will either be clean, in which case they should have no problem going along with Hoid and using their powers for our benefit, or they will be a remaining OC, in which case there will be little damage they can do without revealing themselves. This plan does assume there are few OCs left, but I think that is reasonable to believe at this point.

Joe, Snoopy retracted his vote for Araris. All of these votes on Dowanx are confusing to me. Since he hasn't been on since before the last night cycle, he can't be the Unmade that destroyed Nalthis unless Joe is taking orders outside of PMs. So if he is an OC, he would have to be a second one. And I don't really see how destroying Nalthis would let the OCs branch out since everyone there would just get sent to the most populated world, where Odium already is, so I don't see why it is very likely that there was more than one OC there. It's too late to change at this point though. I would like to know if our Shards and Hoid have anything to say about this choice of lynch. It's not good if everything they do is in PMs.
