  1. @Faidh I’m not actually sure whether I’ll vote for you yet. On one hand, you’re the person I’m most suspicious of and you are really dangerous if you are an enemy. On the other hand, if you are innocent, you’re an excellent asset since you’re getting conversations started and you have experience with this game. Does anyone have any suspicions that haven't been expressed yet (particularly ones that aren't for me or Faidh)? We haven’t heard from Caan yet. Does he have anything to say?
  2. Kai closed her eyes, trying to get the images of the murdered bodies of the last two days out of her mind. She hadn't known either victim, and Mai had accused her earlier, but nobody deserved that. Still, red filled her vision. So much blood. And now she, and everyone else here, were trapped with the murderers. She could almost swear that she could hear A few of their number had cast out Joe to the cold, a sure death sentence. Kai was sure that would do nothing to stop the murders. She wondered why they thought he was guilty. There was something about him that had seemed earnest to her, and she had even started to like him. Now their numbers were down to ten. At this rate, they’d all be gone within five days. Of course, the murderers weren't likely to kill themselves, at least until everyone else was gone. Faidh had said there were probably three, and she rather suspected he was right. That meant they had two days before the innocents were whittled down to the same number as the murderers, if they didn't find any. Four days to find them all. Kai shuddered as she realized how small their chances of survival were. @ Nepene and Mai I didn't see anything in the writeup that suggested who either of you voted for. Joe’s vote for himself wasn't entirely clear without Tempus’s clarification, so maybe something in the writeup meant that Nepene voted for himself. I wonder if it’s possible that Mai’s vote didn’t count because he was murdered. If that is so, then we should probably keep it in mind going forward that one of team good’s votes might not count each day. @Faidh I honestly think it would be silly for the Mysteries to kill the only person who made an accusation if the person accused was one of their number. That kind of thing always casts suspicion on the person who was accused earlier. I agree that we need to get more conversation going though. On that note, what you said about how much time we have isn't exactly correct. You said “We have to find one of them before the fifth day,” but with my understanding that should should be “We have to find all of them before the fifth day,” or “We have to find one of them before the third day.” We either need to kill one of the members of the Mysteries today and at least two times out of the next three days after that, or we need to kill one every single day after today. I understand if you made errors in calculations or typos or something, but I worry that you might be trying to lull us into a false sense of security. Also, I would like to know why you didn't vote at all yesterday.
  3. Since lists tend to be helpful, here's the votes as near as I can figure out. Joe (3): Greggin, Gamene, Joe Faidh (1): Adolin Adolin (1): Warkel Warkel (1): Caan Caan (1): Kai Nepene (1): Ratel no one (4): Aspren, Nepene, Faidh, Mai
  4. Kai tore her eyes away from the bloody body. There was something mesmerizing and terrible about someone splayed out in such a fashion. She realized that she was shaking, although she wasn't sure if it was from the cold or from fear. Pulling her coat more tightly about herself, Kai shuffled back inside to the gathering of people. It was a good-sized group for the season, although the room felt empty compared before the weather turned sour. The murderers had to be among their number, and Kai worried about whether she would survive, trapped as she was with them. She scanned everyone's faces, trying to find someone who didn't belong. With the glares and frowns of worry surrounding her, it occurred to her that she must seem every bit as suspicious to them as they did to her. She backed away from Mai's suspicious stare and continued her inspection. Unfortunately, she didn't know any of these people and none of them sent off any alarms in her head. She had no idea how to start. She would have to wait for someone else to make a move. I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. I was going to, but then real life pulled me away, and since there's not any info yet I didn't have much to say anyway. I understand if I get killed because of that, but I'll be disappointed, and you'll be disappointed too since I'm not one of the followers of the Mysteries. I know I'll be on more the rest of this week than I was today.
  5. After thinking about it, I do want to join. I'll be Kai.
  6. Sure thing. Fixed.
  7. Dalinar observes that that is his position in chapter 26. However, Wit is the only one who calls him "Prince Renarin" (in chapters 12 and 15). I assume it is an accurate title.
  8. I don't really think that the Inquisitor would be ignoring the game as completely as Digits and Matheiu seem to be, and if that was their master plan, it seems to have failed. That being said, I'll vote Digits to go with Peng. There's no way I'll be back on before the day ends, so I hope he doesn't change his mind.
  9. Lucy shuddered at the brutality of her fellow crew mates, and at the thoughts in her own mind. She didn't want to kill anyone, but now it looked like that was where they were all heading. A few voices in the day had culminated in an outpouring of accusations that peaked as the sun hid beneath the horizon and the mists started to appear. Now, they were down another innocent, a coinshot no less. Were they even going to find the Inquisitor before they all died? And where was Peng? He was their best bet, and now he was nowhere to be seen.
  10. Accusations had started flying. Lucy tried to keep track of who said what as the arguments carried them into the twilight hours. Maybe there would be a clue as to who was the Inquisitor amidst all of them. Shadows were beginning to stretch far and it was getting easier to find a place to observe unnoticed. Suddenly, the shadows started to pull back. Lucy jumped and looked around to find a darker corner in the new light. It wasn't that she had anything to hide. She just preferred to stay out of other people's sight. It made it less likely that she would be killed. Possibly. She felt so exposed without a cloak of shadow to cover her. Unfortunately, she couldn't find a good place before she felt eyes drilling into her. The Inquisitor was somewhere in the room, and she didn't want to draw its attention to her. As Lucy looked at the faces around her, she realized, that more than a few pairs of eyes were on her. It was like they wanted something from her. She thought back to the conversations that she had been listening to. They were all voting on who to kill. Right now they were arguing between Wes and Quillion, although several had decided not to vote, and some suspected Shimble. Peng was accusing Wes, although Lucy wasn't really sure why. He was Mistborn, she was pretty sure of that, but that didn't mean he knew what to do any better than the rest of them. Lucy wasn't sure she understood the argument against Quillion at all. Lucy met Peng's eyes. He didn't have much reason to vote against Wes, but it was important to join together against the Inquisitor. And Peng knew the identities of a coinshot, a lurcher, and a seeker. If he was willing to vote against Wes, it meant that they wouldn't lose someone important, at least. She shoved that thought away. No need to be so cold. Besides, if everyone else voted to a deadlock, that would just give the Inquisitor all the more power to control the vote. "I vote Wes, for now," she said, barely loud enough to be heard. "I'm sticking with you, Peng." At the last word, she quickly scurried back into a shadow. @Aonar You left off Windrunner your list of people who haven't voted yet.
  11. Three people dead! Worry filled Lucy. These deaths weren't all the work of the Inquisitor, that much was clear. Some people were starting to take matters into their own hands. The problem was, no one else had any more clues than the rest of them. Trust was running thin. It was one thing to want to kill the Inquisitor, but knowing that you were as likely as not to receive a knife in the back from a friend as an enemy chilled Lucy's blood. They had to work together to kill the Inquisitor, otherwise they'd just end up doing its work for it. Of course, the combination of the message on the wall and the death of Lam basically proved Peng's words from yesterday. His death hadn't been in vain, even though it was unfortunate. Lucy was feeling a tentative trust of Peng growing. She could tell that he wanted to kill the Inquisitor as much as she did, maybe even more. Maybe, maybe, they could work together somehow, even though she wasn't sure how much she could help. A MIstborn. That was nearly as powerful as an Inquisitor. Maybe they had a chance after all. Lucy tried to watch the crowd to keep track of anything out of the ordinary. They needed more to go on before the entire crew was decimated by the Inquisitor and well-meaning vigilantes. She wanted the Inquisitor dead, but if she died in the crossfire while everyone was still bickering and making guesses without making any progress, she was going to haunt the fools from the grave.
  12. She looked over the crowd in the room. Most were panicking at the thought of being poisoned. One of them was the Inquisitor. He or she would want to blend in, for now, and hope to find the antidote, or at least kill the rest of them. One of the group stood up and claimed that he was a Mistborn. Lucy wondered at the audacity of saying such a thing in front of everyone. On one hand, if he was Mistborn, he was putting a pretty big target on his head, although his plan that others protect him made that less dangerous, for now. On the other hand, if he was the Inquisitor, he was taking a surprisingly big risk that everyone would believe him. Unless he had a way of disguising his powers to a Seeker. Lucy listened to the arguments and the plans and felt a deep worry. They were saying so much right there in front of everyone. Surely the Inquisitor would mess with their plans, somehow. But what else could they do. They couldn't trust anyone alone. Lucy shuddered. Maybe that Peng was a Mistborn. She felt a small glimmer of hope that there was finally someone she could trust, who would help fight the Inquisitor, whatever it took. However, she pushed that thought back. Not yet. She'd have to wait out the night and see what happened. Watch for the Inquisitor, that was her job now. Look for anything suspicious. She was going to work to destroy the Inquisitor, even if it cost her her life. Edit: I think I pressed the wrong button for something.
  13. Lucy stared at the horrible scene before her. A similar scene rose in her memory. Her old crew leader in an identical position. Dena, her sister, lying lifeless in her own blood. Fear rose in the pit of her stomach. Of course there was an Inquisitor here. He would come for her. She tore her eyes away from the body and instead gazed with suspicion at the gathering crowd around her, gauging each person's reaction. Was there one who wasn't surprised? Along with the fear came anger. They were doing it again. Destroying a crew that Lucy had hoped perhaps would be safe for once. She had to find a way to stop it. One of these people had shattered the fragile hope that had been slowly building within her. She would find them and make them regret what they had done. She took a deep breath. Calmly, she thought. It was best to approach the situation rationally, no matter her feelings. It only took one traitor to ruin everything, and the more everyone turned on one another, the more likely it was that everyone would fail. Quick accusations were no way to go. No, it was best to watch and wait for now. Perhaps she would be able to notice someone acting suspicious. For now, I am voting to kill no one. I agree with what has already been said that we don't have enough to go off of.
  14. Lucy stood silently in a corner, watching as people filed in. It was a diverse group. Already quite a cacophony was rising. She looked at faces for any she might recognize. She especially looked for the telltale glint of silver or covered eyes that would mark an Inquisitor. Hopefully she would notice them before they noticed her. Thanks for the welcome, and sorry to mess with your list
  15. Thanks, these are awesome. While I'm delurking, I might as well take one of them. Learned/giving sounds good, so Palah's glyph it is.
  16. I'd like to join, if it's not too late. I'll be Lucy. I'm so quiet most people don't notice me. I watch from the shadows, waiting for betrayal. I'm sure there must be someone hiding among us. The last crew I was in was good, until the wrath of the Inquisitors was brought upon us. It ended with my sister dead on a spike, which I still blame myself for. Now I am weary of any traitors in our midst, and I hate those Inquisitors with a passion. My sister was all the family I had left. Edit: spelling
