  1. None of these either. I'm thinking of something specific with "terrible things" and I probably should have put my clue in past tense.
  2. None of these are correct. Some are close though.
  3. So, now I'm supposed to come up with something. Maybe guessing right before I went out of town wasn't the best idea When this Royal uses a sword, terrible things happen.
  4. Lucy watched everything from the shadows. No one noticed her, partly because she looked unthreatening, but also partly because she was currently drab. She had stored all of her breath in the glove she wore over her safe hand. She had never been able to stand wearing that ridiculous sleeve. These people had an even stranger idea of modesty than Idrians. It worried her that now everyone blamed her friends for the mess that had become of the city. Already, two had been killed. They hadn't started it, although she had to admit that none of them had done much to stop it. But that was because everyone else assumed their own way was right instead of turning the city over to people who had seen such things before.
  5. Lucy stood back and watched the arguments. They were coming to a head, but she didn’t have much to add. She’d said what she had wanted to in private meetings. There wasn’t much to do now but wait and see what happened. Well, it looks like the vote is going to be really close. It's in the hands of the Nobles and Merchants, really. I’m curious how it’s going to turn out. It’s definitely going to be a turning point for one side or another.I figure I should have at least something here for in case the activity rules suddenly start being strictly enforced.
  6. After the storm today, so much more terrible than a regular highstorm, the streets were a mess in a different way. They were destroyed as if the Almighty’s own hand was punishing them for the riots. The storm had come out of nowhere and gone the wrong way, leaving a only death and destruction in its wake. Most people were too frightened to come out after the storm. So when Lucy walked around, the streets were nearly deserted. She knew it was foolish to go out–the storm might not truly be over, or it might come again–but she couldn’t just sit still and wait. Something important would happen today. She could feel it. The Darkeyes’ proposition makes me uneasy. Since the only people who have actually spoken for it have claimed to be Darkeyes, I’m really worried about how easily they might win if we try to form an alliance with them. If we work with the Seventeenth Shard, at least some of them will have an interest in actively helping us out instead of the Darkeyes.
  7. Every day brought more death than the last. Bodies were scattered in the streets. It seemed the living weren’t any better off than the dead. Everyone left was crazy or murdering. Or both. Lucy walked the streets again, trying not to think too deeply about everything that was going on. She noticed a pair of men speaking tensely. Something about children caught her ear. She couldn’t keep herself from listening in–from a distance of course. Their conversation surprised her, and she felt a breath of relief as their tension drained and they got to the heart of the matter. They were going to help get children out of the city to protect them from the chaos of the riots. Children weren’t likely to last long in a situation like this. The thought that there were still some around, along with people trying to help them, warmed her soul. Maybe this place wasn’t as hopeless as it seemed. Maybe there was a future that didn’t involve constant bloodshed. Lucy approached them, determinationspren popping up around her. She’d had enough of hiding and doing nothing. “What can I do to help?” she asked. I might as well join Jerrek’s noble cause since I can’t think of any good RP on my own right now.
  8. Lucy scanned the streets, trying to find the safest route to take. A reminder of the highstorm that had come through earlier that day remained in the air–a reminder that no matter how much everyone in this city fought and murdered, their mortal machinations did not matter to the Stormfather. The storms still came, and even the worst of the rioters bowed beneath their power. The highstorm had done quite a bit to wash the streets. However, a few short hours later death had again filled the streets, the highstorm and the power of the Almighty forgotten to most. It didn’t seem that the violence would stop until everyone was dead and their bodies and blood were washed away by another highstorm, leaving an empty shell behind. Maybe then someone would find this city and make it great, as it once was. The Almighty knew, there was no hope for the people left.
  9. Lucy made her way back to her home amid the sound of fighting and scent of death. She tried not to look at the bodies that surrounded her, while trying to be alert for any dangers at the same time. It was difficult. Her meeting had been relatively successful–well, at least the people she had met with hadn’t killed her yet. She wasn’t sure whether she was surprised or not. They had the same goals as her, but with the insanity of the riots, she wasn’t sure how well any alliance would hold up. Hopefully their company would be some form of protection. She saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Was that an enemy about to attack? No, it was rotspren crawling over a body. Lucy shuddered and stepped away, trying not to breathe in too deeply. It was awful how the streets were getting. The evidence of the riots lay out in plain sight with no chance of being cleared, and fewer and fewer people alive to see it. Few people even seemed to care anymore. Most of those left were the murderers.
  10. Shouts sounded from beyond the entrance to the structure that Lucy had taken shelter in. The riots were getting bad—even just after a highstorm, the streets were in chaos—and she wanted nothing more than to get away from them. It was not a time for a young woman like herself to travel about on her own. However, she didn’t have much choice. Most of her family and friends were gone. She had places to go and people to see to ensure her own survival. Lucy hesitantly crept out of the small building. She kept to the shadows, one hand on a hidden knife. At times like these, the best thing to do was remain unnoticed and stay away from people who would harm her. Oh how things had changed. Before the riots, her life had been simple. Her parents had always known what she should do, and her brothers had always been there to protect her. Now, she was alone and could depend on no one but herself. Maybe she could find safety among the people she would meet with. She wished she had the time and supplies to burn a prayer to the Almighty. Peace, it would say. Peace. Safety. Life. All that had been taken from her and the others in this city. Now, she could only hope that the Almighty could hear and would listen to her frantic thoughts. She couldn’t brush off the feeling that He had abandoned them.
  11. I'd add that, while gold compounding can heal injuries and sickness, it does not prevent aging, so it doesn't really make someone effectively immortal. That was Axies, an Aimian. As Moogle mentioned, they are one Rosharan group that it is possible is immortal.
  12. Since Game 5 is wrapping up nicely now, there aren't quite the 27 people for a full game yet, and I actually will have time for it (mostly that I will have time part ), I'll sign up. My name is Lucy.
  13. That was an excellent coordinated effort that Ace and Wurum pulled together last night. The amount that you planned out is impressive. Thanks to Mailliw for putting this game together. It was a lot of fun. I'll vote Khas before I forget.
  14. We're not going to get back any important items if we only kill during the day because I find it extremely unlikely that the Ghostbloods don't have heirs. We need Wurum to make as many killing blows as possible if we want to actually get anything, so chipping his plate seems pointless tonight if it won't actually kill him then. Your other point--that if we actually lynch one of the Ghostbloods today, it will be more difficult for them to use all of their items--is a good one though.
  15. I was mostly wondering why Tion suggested what he did: to have you attack Awes tonight without voting for him today. Regarding what you said though, Awes cannot be protected by the Painrial tonight unless they have more than one (at least according to what Tion has been saying all game), so now might be our best opportunity to take him out unless we manage to kill the person with the Painrial first. Of course, if they really do have two Painrials then we do need to vote someone else. Taking out Awes first might not be the best option anyways because then another Ghostblood might get his Shardplate and we would have to hit someone else twice to get them. At this point, we need to consolidate our votes. They are too scattered, and if we leave them this way, the Ghostbloods will easily be able to control them. As such, I will change my vote from Awes to Humperdink. I know that that is just switching who has 1 vote and who has 2 between Awes and Humperdink, but it appears that no one is going to add votes to Awes today, and Humperdink seems a good choice at this point. Here’s the most recent set of votes: Awes (1): Tion, Wurum, Lucal, Sprenil Tion (2): Wurum, Jim Bob Dirt, Khas Sprenil (2): Cara, Saritu Cara (1): Humperdink Humperdink (2): Wurum, Lucal Currently no vote, but had a previous one: Ace, Tion No vote at all: Alv, Awes I for one would like to know where Alv is. He has been on, but he hasn’t said anything during this cycle. In the past, he has expressed suspicions of Tion, but he’s not now when many other people are. That to me seems rather suspicious (but I’m not going to start a vote for him this close to the end of the day when we really need to keep from being so scattered). If Tion was Pain Knifed, then he can’t be one of the four Ghostbloods who were active last night, and he can’t be the other one on my list because that one attacked him personally (although, now I think that one and last night’s rope one probably are the same). If there are 4 Ghostbloods, then it is impossible for Tion to be any of them. If there are 5, then the only thing he has done for them in the writeups is being attacked, and I don't know if that squares with the thoughts of the last one in the most recent writeup (but that could just be RP anyways). That does bring into question how they got their information, which Ace seemed rather sure they could only get from one of their group being a Ghostblood. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, especially this late in the day, but I would like more explanation for that. Given Ace gave his plate to Wurum, it seems like Ace is probably not a Ghostblood though.
  16. I just went through the previous writeups to get more information about what the Ghostbloods have been up to. Mailliw has admitted in the past to putting clues in the writeups (see the reference to the rope in a pocket and to silk on a sword after nights 1 and 2), although some of it could just be RP. I wanted to see if I could match up different descriptions to the same Ghostblood to get a better idea of their numbers and assets. I have isolated five different Ghostbloods in the writeups (although it is possible that two are actually the same so there’s only four): 1. The first Ghostblood was referred to as a “man in Shardplate” in the opening writeup. He climbed a rope to get in to kill the king. On night 2, there was an assassin with a blood-stained sword with fine silk stuck to it who killed Pailan. From the discussion that followed, it seems this assassin was the same one that killed the king (the silk was the clue). On night 3, there was a “murderer with the bloody sword” who, IIRC, has thoughts that imply that he was the one who killed the king. This implies that the person who killed Fnorf and took his shardblade is the same person as the king-killer On night 4, someone with a shardblade attacked Wurum--certainly the same person who killed Fnorf. This Ghostblood likely killed the king, Pailan, and Fnorf and attempted to kill Wurum. He probably started with Shardplate, and has since gained either an emotion bracelet or a reverser (or both, but the writeup seemed to imply that Pailan had an heir) and a Shardblade. If he still has the Shardplate, then he is a full shardbearer. However, it is possible he gave it to Ghostblood #4 at some point, or even that the first mention of Shardplate didn't mean anything, since it hasn’t been mentioned on him since and I doubt the Ghostbloods have two Shardplates. 2. On night 1, someone attacked Tion. He had a rope in his pocket, which from the following discussion meant that he was the Ghostblood who took the rope during the assassination of the king. There is no indication of what this Ghostblood has. 3. Night 4 opens with a man who pretended to be Deren (who let the man with Shardplate up). He is the person who used a painrial to protect rope-man (Ghostblood #4). This Ghostblood has a painrial. 4. Rope-man is a (possibly) new figure in the writeups in night 4. He has rope about his neck. It is also possible that he is actually Ghostblood #2, who had the rope in his pocket. If he is Ghostblood #2, then there are only 4 Ghostbloods mentioned explicitly in the writeups so far, and given how Ghostblood #5’s attack is phrased, it seems like that is all there would be. During night 4, this person has “new Shardplate”, which could mean that he just got it (although Wurum’s plate wasn’t called “new”, and he had just received his, apparently). He tried to use a Fabrial on someone, so he has some kind of Fabrial that targets people at night (I think that means Pain Knife, Soulcaster, Painrial, or Emotion Bracelet). He was attacked by the Grandbow holder and protected by a painrial holder (Ghostblood #3). This Ghostblood has Shardplate and some kind of Fabrial that targets people. 5. A new assassin killed Jost. It appears that he had done little before that for the Ghostbloods, at least in terms of actions. I worry that this is an indication that the other Ghostbloods now have too many items so they needed their fifth member to attack for the first time. He thinks, “The others had had their chance to help, now it was his,” so I don’t think there are any more Ghostbloods beyond those mentioned. This Ghostblood now has a Spanreed, Soulcaster, or half-shard (or all three if Jost didn’t have an heir) in addition to whatever he started with. Note: If how I have lined up the Ghostbloods is correct, then every one of them has been referred to as male at least once in the writeups. I don’t know if this actually means anything though. Altogether, the Ghostbloods at least have a Shardblade, an Emotion Bracelet or Reverser (Awes mentioned they had an emotion bracelet, so it is probably that), a Painrial, one (or maybe two) sets of Shardplate, some kind of Fabrial that can be used on someone, and whatever was taken from Jost. In addition, I would guess that there are a few other items they started with plus whatever else has been heired or given to one of them. Given what has already been said, Ghostblood #4 is Awes, and is the only one that has been identified. Unfortunately, he apparently also has Shardplate, so we can’t kill him in a lynch today. However, if we lynch him today, his plate will be damaged so Wurum can take him out tonight. Why would it be better to take Awes down a notch during the next night and wait to lynch him until tomorrow and hope that whoever we lynch today just happens to be a Ghostblood than to take him down a notch by lynching him today then kill him tomorrow so that we can maybe take one of his items from him and wait to lynch someone else until the next day when we have more information from the next night? I think gunning for someone else right now just spreads out the votes too much and lets the Ghostbloods hide in the votes.
  17. At this point, I think it is best to go with Tion's choice of Grellin. Following Tion is probably our best bet, and his reasoning makes sense.
  18. I’m really sorry I haven’t been on much. I haven’t had much time to get on for the last couple of days, let alone analyze everyone’s actions so that I can have useful suspicions. I’ll have more time over the next couple of days. I haven’t followed the explosion of conversation during this day cycle. I agree with the people who have said that Jain has acted suspiciously, and I think the arguments agains Faialen make sense, but I don’t suspect either enough to vote for them right now. I haven’t looked much at the other arguments about who is suspicious, but they’ll probably make more sense when I read them more carefully.
  19. The King is dead. The thought rang through Lucal’s mind. She barely noticed what else the message she read to Highprince Ruthar said. There was no heir to the King. This would mean chaos, and perhaps even more death than when Geratad had united the nation, unless a strong leader could take control. Perhaps one of the highprinces would come out on top. Lucal watched Ruthar closely for his reaction. An expression of eagerness showed through his detachment. She knew what that meant. He was going to try to be the new King. Worry mingled with excitement filled her. That would be dangerous for him and everyone around him. However, Lucal couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to be a scribe to the King. Faialen, that seems like a good analysis of what is out there. I wonder, however, if it is possible that some people have more than one item, or someone with a role has an item. Also, there’s 11 items and 3 roles that aren’t Ghostbloods or Shardbearers/Full Shardbearers (which as far as I can tell goes with the shardblade/plate rather than really being a separate role (I might be wrong though)). That makes 14 separate roles, so there might be more people without anything or more duplicate items than you think.
  20. This looks complicated. Should be interesting I would like to join as Lucal, one of Highprince Ruthar’s scribes. I need to stop waiting for the last moment to join. I have a few questions about the rules. 1. Are shardplate and half-shard passive like the Shardblade’s defense against a Pain Knife is? If someone is already using three actions, does the defense kick in? If so, which one of the three actions is negated? 2. If items change hands, do their uses reset, or does, for example, a Shardplate keep damage from previous users who were protected by it? 3. Regarding the Spanreed, you said starting a PM uses up a night action. Does this mean that the person can only start one PM per night, or does it mean that if they start any at all that costs an action, but they can start as many as they want that night? Can the PM’s continue beyond that night? If the person loses the Spanreed, what does that mean for the PM's that were started by them previously? What about if a PM is started during the day--does that cancel their vote, or is it a free action, or is that not allowed? 4. If someone nominates an heir, does it have to be publicly if it is done during the day like giving an item is? It is in private at night, right? 5. I am a little confused at the win conditions and the ending conditions. Does the game end when either the Ghostbloods are all dead or they outnumber the nobles? How exactly do the second goals work?
  21. @Nepene I don't think that is very good reasoning for your vote. It's easy enough to find the players and the roles for the game. I'm still suspicious of you. @Ratel I don't think the fact that I made a list should make me automatically suspicious. While many spiked in games 1 and 2 used lists, they were never the domain of only the spiked. Aether was the main list maker in game 1, but many other players, most of them not spiked, also made lists. In game 2, it is true that the main list makers, Wilson and Aonar, were spiked, but they started making lists before they were spiked. I can't comment on game 3 because I didn't follow it much, but that must be where your comment about statistics comes in.
  22. Kai was disturbed by the deaths. The Mysteries had struck again, and once again the body was mutilated in a way that only the followers of the Mysteries would do. That wasn’t the only thing that bothered her, however. She couldn’t help but think that the movement against Faidh was her fault. She had been the one accusing him, and he had been sent out to certain death. We don’t know whether Faidh was innocent or not, but given how that turned out, I think he might have been. Now there are eight of us left, and probably three are killers. If we kill the wrong person today, it will be three and three and we lose. We can’t afford to kill anyone who isn’t a follower of the Mysteries. At least we know that a vote from the person who was murdered still counts. I have no idea what happened to Mai’s vote yesterday. We should start the conversations going early today so that we can get as much information as possible. Everyone who said who they were going to vote for beforehand voted how they said they would. So now I’d like to know from the ones who didn’t say before what their reasoning was. Nepene and Greggin, why did each of you vote the way you did? @Tempus Thanks for showing us the votes more clearly. I liked the role-playing of last time, but it’s very helpful to have the information shown clearly, especially in a quick game like this.
  23. Yeah Nepene, voting without knowing what others are doing definitely makes it harder to find clues. I might as well just vote for Faidh since I don't have any other good leads. So far the votes declared in the thread are: Faidh (2): Ratel, Kai Kai (1): Faidh Caan (1): Warkel Warkel (1): Caan But these can easily change without any of us knowing, and it's only half of the people here.
