  1. When from when I was seven to when I was ten I was really obsessed with Greek mythology (and history and geography to a lesser extent) but I’ve forgotten most of it by now. It’s still interesting though. I’m also the only person I know that likes the Iliad more than the Odyssey, does anyone else feel this way?
  2. “Would…would that be okay with you? What’s your name, by the way? I’m Autumn.”
  3. I am officially in love with that Shardpen. I wonder what the ink would be made out of? The body would be the alloy of Tanavastium and Korkelliumium that Brandon’s mentioned a few times, but the ink?
  4. “But what if I don’t want to? Or, I could live here with you and the corpse! You two seem nice enough. I would have to leave occasionally to play gigs, though.”
  5. Karrath, Prelan of the Steel Ministry and Augur, looked at the note in his hand, running his other hand over his shaved head. The note was from Kelsier, Karrath’s arch-nemesis, yet seemed to be offering Karrath a job. A job to kill God. Karrath had, in his youth, been involved with the skaa underground, using his position as an Obligator to let him steal things that he would ordinarily be unable to. But upon being promoted to Prelan, he had put such days behind him. He had become a loyal Obligator, a loyal priest. But in a position such as his, he saw how…bad God was at leading the country. At fighting the Deepness, He was wonderful, and humankind still owed him for that. But at being an emperor…. He needed to relax the Terris breeding program, to have some sort of standards for treating skaa. For in His position as Lord Ruler, He was a tyrant. Why must religion be so complicated? But despite Karrath’s personal opinions on the Lord Ruler’s rule, open rebellion was not the answer. That’s what he had told himself for the past decade, anyway. But…maybe it was? It would help them to have somebody on the inside, anyway. To help him in his decision, Karrath burned gold. And image of him appeared across from him, yet not only an image. For it was…him. Just a different version. And right now, Karrath was them both, equally. The other Karrath had greasy raven-black hair stretching to his waist with some strands of grey. He wore a black shirt and pants, and held a knife. He had painted over the tattoos around his eyes with make-up he always kept there, hiding his past. This Karrath had left the Steel Ministry, pretended to be skaa sometimes and nobles other times. This Karrath had fully and completely left God, forever, no coming back. This Karrath had gone the way of the thief. “I may need to become you, old friend,” Obligator Karrath said to thief Karrath. “For I have received an offer, and I plan to accept. I will join Kelsier despite how much I hate him, and I will kill God. I will betray my religion for the greater good.”
  6. “That’s good. But no knowledge is forbidden to me, and should not to anyone.” Still not technically a lie. It shouldn’t be forbidden, though it needs to sometimes.
  7. Aubrey crossed her arms and turned to Owen. “Do you know him?” @Invisible
  8. An idea came to Autumn. “What if I entertained you? I brought my guitar, I could play a little song for you. You look like you need some entertainment. Would that get us out?”
  9. Short, with short brown hair and dark blue eyes. You like jackets a lot. You’re around 17 years old. You are quite short with short hair dyed a pale pink with bright green eyes. You enjoy wearing sweaters. Around 26 years old, tall with long black hair, you wear a lot of dresses, usually orange. You also like hats. If anybody wants to do me…I’d be curious.
  10. Aubrey frowns. “Hello? Why have you come to our manor?” She opened the door of the room where she and Owen sat.
  11. Corbeau opened the book and began to read the first page. “‘I am, unfortunately, the Hero of Ages. Holding the power did strange things to my mind. In just a few moments, I became familiar with the power itself, with it’s history, and with the ways it might be used.’ But what is the power? Ruin? Preservation? Something else?” Corbeau closed the book and turned to Sonyr. “This book, it is a biography? Of the Hero of Ages…of the Lord Ruler? Or of the Sazed you mentioned? I used to think that the Sliver of Immortality was Terris…could He be your Sazed? “This book interests me greatly, I will definitely read this. But do you have anything more exclusively about Hemalurgy?”
  12. They shouldn’t adapt the Cosmere. The books are just fine on their own, and I don’t need to see a bunch of actors (too many of which would be white) showing me the book (which I can already imagine just fine!) and getting annoyed at everything they change which won’t make the plot work. I may be somewhat overly pessimistic about this
  13. As a result of the adaptations the Cosmere will become popular and a bunch of people will join the fandom without reading the books (some not even knowing that there are books).
  14. Happy birthday! I haven’t interacted much but you seem like a really cool person.

    1. AonEne

      AonEne

      Thank you!

  15. which may lead to marriage,
  16. Nope. Lost Metal was great. TPBM thinks that The Lost Metal was the best book in Mistborn era 2.
  17. Some excerpts from the critically acclaimed Broadway musical, West Side Goat: “When you’re a goat, you’re a goat from your first cigarette to your last dying day!” “Could it be? Yes, it could. Some goat’s comin', some goat good, if I can wait. Some goat’s comin', I don't know what it is, but it is gonna be great. “Maria! I just met a goat named Maria! And suddenly I’ve found how wonderful a sound can be!” “This goat…this goat. Won’t be just any goat! This goat there will be no, tail at all!” “I like to be a goat! Okay by me if I’m a goat! Everything’s free when you’re a goat! For a small fee when you’re a goat.” “Go-at, go-at. Crazy go-at. Stay cool, goat.” “One hand, one goat.” “Tonight, tonight! The goats are going down…tonight!” “I feel goat-like! And attractive! And the city should give me it’s key! And so goat-like…I hardly can believe I’m real.” “In some goat, there’s a place for use.” “Gee, officer goat, we’re very upset. We never had the love that every child ought’a get.” “A goat like that…will kill your brother! Forget that goat…and find another!” “I…have a goat. And it’s all that I have!”
  18. So I very occasionally will do a drawing or two, but I want to get more in the habit and get better at it (I’m not very good) and I figured making a thread here could help with that. I have my most recent project, some Stormlight Archive fanart (the plan is to make a portrait of every character mentioned on the backs of the books, but I’m not quite done yet):
  19. Aubrey is silent for a moment as she eats. “Do you know if there are any other balls coming up?” she asks.
  20. “Yes, I suppose so! You can tutor me in geography and I can teach you dance and German.”
  21. “Yes,” Aubrey agrees. “Though sometimes I think we put too much emphasis on that. The Romans were powerful and all, but our, Empire, of Britain, is bigger than anything they ever had.”
  22. @Rallohir isn’t too active anymore, but when he was he was nice enough to draw me a Shardblade, which is seriously beautiful: And so this has become my Shardblade (although at times it would be a Shardpen which would totally word). In accordance with this Shardblade:
  23. “We base so much off of it…yet hardly anybody can speak it, these days.”
