This thread is like the Sanderfan and nerd ones, but for RPing! I’ll start: YKYRPTMW you automatically respond to almost all posts with quotation marks and have to remember to delete them.

There’s just quiet sobbing for several seconds. “Wh-what makes you s-say that?”

“I CAN’T! I JUST CAN’T!” There’s a pause on the other end, followed by quiet sobbing.

“M-maybe. Depends on what it is.”

“N-n-no. M-my d-d-dormitory only has th-three rooms, and m-my r-roommate d-d-doesn’t l-like me g-g-going into h-her r-r-room. And there are even scarier m-monsters in th-the sh-sh-shared r-room.”

“Ailin? Are you there, Ailin? It’s me, Karrath.” Karrath’s voice grows louder. “I always wanted to be your friend. You never liked me though. Why not? I thought I seemed like a very nice Obligator.” By now he’s practically screaming. Please work. Please don’t discover us.

Athena attempts to take several breaths, but ends up sobbing instead. “I c-c-can’t! N-not while th-th-that thing is h-h-here!”

“Ailin? I don’t want you to hate me. I don’t want anyone to hate me. I don’t think anybody does. I just—I just want to know why. Why won’t you just trust me for once?” Did it work? Are we doomed? Did he see Kelsier? Lord Ruler, if that zinc-tongued raven gets me sent to Hathsin I will not hold back. Don’t curse! You’re a priest! Don’t use His name in vain! It commonizes him too much.

“Ailin?” Karrath asked. “Are you feeling okay?”

“N-n-no! It-it’ll kill me! Someday it will! M-m-maybe tomorrow, maybe n-next week, maybe in a y-y-year!”

“I came here to help you. What do you think I’m traitorous? “Why does nobody like me?”

“I forgot! I forgot to be sacred!” More whimpering comes from the other end. “Okay, I-I-I’m stil sc-sc-scared.”

Karrath, instead of continuing down the road, stopped immediately after turning and rubbed his face, shuddering. I can’t believe I really did that. I lied. Lied to another Prelan. What have I become? Good. I’ve become a good person. Why does that scare me? Karrath looked back, seeing if the others were okay, and saw— Lord Ruler. Ailin was entering the jewelry shop. Karrath ran back over. “I guess you really don’t trust me, huh. What’s so special about this shop?” He hoped that Ailin couldn’t hear how fast and loud his heart was beating.

“I’m a-at m-m-my d-dormitory. I-I’m al-l-lone r-right now, m-my roommate’s a-at a p-p-party. That I didn’t get invited to.” She says the last words bitterly, sounding a lot less scared than before.

I have a character idea I like a lot -
“I guess I’ll check Zinc road,” Karrath says, gesturing at a cross-street. “See you at some point.” Karrath heads to Zinc Road.

“If it d-d-doesn’t kill me. It h-h-hasn’t yet, s-so my fr-fr-friends say I’ll b-be fine. B-but I kn-know it’ll g-get me eventually.”

Good. Another supporter. I hope. I don’t fully trust this one, but that doesn’t mean he can’t help me. Corbeau takes out a spare flyer from his bag. “You met all these people last night, so you don’t really need their pictures. But on this part,” Corbeau gestures to an address on the bottom of the page, “is my hotel room. Come there immediately if you see any of them, and I’ll try to gather the others to capture them. And when you have the time, go into the slums, ask around. See if you can find any of these three.” Best not to be seen as demanding.

There’s some quiet whimpering on the other end before the voice replies. “My name is A-A-Athena. I’m n-n-nineteen y-years old. C-could I m-make an a-a-appointment for ei-ei-eight in th-the morning? Or is th-th-that t-too ea-ea-early?”

“Why should this city matter any less then the cities I grew up in?” Corbeau sighs, and looks like he’s fighting tears. “Where I used to live…I made some mistakes. A lot of mistakes. And so I found my way here. “To try again. To get a second chance at being good.”

Am I on the list? I think I requested a little bit ago but I’m not sure if I ended up officially on the list. -
A call comes on the phone. “Hello?” somebody asked, sounding very nervous. “A-are you th-th-there? Hi? Th-there’s a m-m-monster in m-my closet. There’s a monster in my c-closet any no one believes me. My friends t-told me to g-g-get a th-therap-pist, so I c-c-called y-you. I d-don’t think I need you? But I don’t w-want them to a-a-a-abandon m-me. S-s-so I did wh-what th-they said. C-can I come see you? T-t-tomorrow? D-do you kn-kn-know anyone wh-who can k-k-kill monsters? Maybe they’ll know h-how to st-st-stop it f-f-from d-disappearing.”

“I had previously looked that way,” Karrath gestures to his left and Ailin’s right, “so you can look the other way. Or, where are they sending everyone? Did they make a plan?”

I had previously seen that WoI, but I thought that the pronunciation might be discernible, and I found possible phonemes fairly easily (even though some of them are almost certainly wrong). -
“You don’t believe that I’m capable enough to search the building? We’re of the same rank, Ailin. I think we’re both quite capable of finding criminals.”
