  1. I think the title kind of says it all. We know that humans are way harder to soulcast than most other things. So if a really good soulcaster decided to find a workaround and just soulcast air in someone's lungs, what would happen. Because you could do things like turn the air into pure oxygen and set it alight, or into smoke to suffocate, or even into crystals to shatter the chest. Why would someone ask ruthless as Jasnah not figure this out yet?
  2. I was just reading the preview flashback for Szeth in SA5, and it struck me how the Shin seem to be so focused on dancing. In particular, the similarities it seemed to share with ChayShan from Sel. Is there any influence of Selish or Devotion and Dominion influencing the Shin?
  3. I then use the Surge of Gravitation by drawing on a Nightblood worth of Investiture before lashing you two into the ground at 50 G Force. I then calmly take the sandwich away to my bunker.
  4. Granted. However now you cannot function without laying on turnips every day. I wish that all banes don't apply to any of the next 20 people.
  5. I then use an anti-aircraft station to shoot down the nimbus. I then run away as I crash the Shard. SeventeenthShard.exe has stopped working
  6. Kaladin got that one plot of land and the title before they went to Urithiru, so I am thinking any soldier who is responsible for a high amount of land is a highmarshall.
  7. Well, that is actually probably technically possible, because Melishi could have bonded the Stormfather after the Sibling rejected him. After all, we do know the Nohadon vision was hard for Jasnah to place.
  8. The scariest thing is that I think you are probably pretty close to the mark. I do think Moash will murder Syl. The only thing I would disagree on is Szeth getting all the surges, and maybe on El being the champion.
  9. In SA5, Szeth will go crazy and use Nightblood to murder everyone, including Dalinar, the main characters, and the spren. Then he will give Nightblood back to Vasher.
  10. I would like to take the Shard Intent changing to another level. How do we think Taravangian will start trying to manipulate the Intent of Odium, and how will Cultivation try to manipulate him.
  11. Wasn't Ambition the first one Splintered. If Ambition truly was Splintered in space, clearly Odium didn't like the result if he felt the need to try something new on Devotion and Dominion.
  12. Well, in Oathbringer, when Vyre stabs Jezrien with the raysium knife, it is mentioned that the gemstone in the knife is sapphire, which is Jezrien's Polestone. I reread the box scene in RoW, and sadly it does not mention which type of gemstone was in the dagger Shallan was to use against Kalak.
  13. No, they all came from Ashyn, and there were no singers on Ashyn. Well, technically it is theoretically possible Shalash could be singer, because it is unknown whether she was born on Roshar or Ashyn, and her mother is unknown. So if Jezrien had a fling with a singer right after getting to Roshar, it is possible.
  14. One notable thing in the new preview chapters for SA5 is the mention that BAM was trapped into a flawless heliodor. This would indicate to me that each Unmade has a specific Polestone it is linked to to be bound into. After all, Yelig-Nar was in an amethyst and Nergaoul is in a ruby. If BAM is indeed locked in a heliodor, than I would posit that this also links her to the essence of Sinew. Oddly enough, this means that BAM would correspond to Ishar as a herald. This would raise some extremely interesting questions for book 5. In addition, we know from this WoB that you need an intrinsic connection to an Unmade to trap it in a gemstone. This above quote would imply Melishi was deeply connected to BAM.
  15. I am thinking that if Sazed really does realize he is becoming Discord, he will intentionally hand the Shard off to someone better equipped to the Intent and handle things, and just live as some random Sliver. It would be interesting to see Sazed as a main character again.
  16. I would probably chose "The sesquipedalian cow is exhausted."
  17. I can see a book 5 where on his crusade, Szeth kills whatever Unmade is supposedly threatening Shinovar. However, this does raise some questions on how Nale got the highspren to bond Szeth, considering Nightblood could probably kill the spren. TSM spoilers
  18. I am almost certain that part of the ending of Wind and Truth will be the death of the Stormfather. Regardless of whatever happens to Dalinar, if he falls of if he becomes Honor or whatever, there is no way Stormfather is making it out alive.
  19. I have my research proposal due next week, and I really should be working on it, but Shard. Do engineering people have any ideas for research into number theory?
  20. Another thing to consider is that Dalinar is bonded to the Stormfather, who basically ensures he will follow all oaths. I would think the champion will be be someone Dalinar can't fight without breaking an oath, which would probably kill the Stormfather.
  21. I do think though that setting Szeth up as Honor could be a genius move for Brandon, because Szeth is so unpredictable. It basically gives the power of Honor to a total lunatic, which is super dangerous for the Cosmere as a whole, and could even make Szeth a major antagonist. Him and Todium would have an amazing back 5 conflict, considering all of their tensions. And don't forget, Szeth has Nightblood to assassinate other Vessels.
  22. The only other good interpretation I could really think of was maybe Leshwi and Venli with the singers in book 5 referencing the The Nine, or potentially even a Fused becoming part of the Nine.
  23. I was looking through the death rattles and was suddenly struck by a different interpretation of the following death rattle. "The burdens of nine become mine. Why must I carry the madness of them all? Oh, Almighty, release me." The most accepted interpretation I have seen of this generally agrees this is from Talenel's perspective. However, I would like to propose this could possibly be from Dalinar's perspective in book five. We know that Odium's champion has the 9 shadows of the 9 Unmade. If Sanderson does go down the path of Dalinar losing and serving Odium, then I think it is shockingly likely this could be from his perspective in response to being burdened by the Unmade. I am interested to see if there is anything else significant on this.
  24. I am very strongly of the opinion that there is a good chance that Szeth may indeed Ascend to Honor. When you think about it, Szeth's entire arc is based on his total obedience to his Oathstone and his definition to what honor is. While this may not necessarily be the definition the power likes the most, Szeth is incredibly dedicated to his ideal of Honor, seeing as he swore to Dalinar in hopes of finding Honor. I think that a potential hint Brandon could have given is Szeth's very specific references to himself in his chapters across the books. This ends in him naming himself Szeth-son-Honor, by RoW. We know that book 5 is the Szeth book, and he will almost certainly at least hit the fourth Sky breaker Ideal, maybe even the fifth. I merely think that is is possible that Dalinar would intentionally choose not to Ascend. This could also fulfill Brandon's saying the ending is hidden in the first two books, which could reference Szeth being told by Gavilar to find the most important words a man could say.
  25. Even a Fused would not use you as a host.
