Connection Iron Feruchemical Shenanigans
The Stick replied to The Stick's topic in Cosmere Discussion
As a continuation, this is how I think you could try to mess with each of the 16 base attributes. Iron-see above Steel-see above Tin-maybe if you could Awaken security cameras and microphones, then do the same connection trick, you could get something. Or you could potentially connect to animals with really potent senses? Pewter: If you grew artificial organic lab muscle, then did the trick and connected it, you you could probably mess with the investiture, especially if it was derived from you. Brass-just connect yourself to a furnace and store. Zinc: Besides connecting yourself to animals, or maybe an awakened computer, I think this one would be nearly impossible. Bronze: This one is weird, and I don't really have any great ideas. Copper: Memories are really strange. Maybe you could connect yourself to a hard drive or something? Gold: Connect yourself to a planaria or some lab-grown tissues. Electrum: This is another weirder one. I don't have many ideas. Aluminum: Nothing else really has your identity, but if you connected something to yourself, it would. This is weird. Duralumin: This is a recursive loop. Chromium: Umm. Connect yourself to Renarin or some other methods of future sight? Nicrosil: Just connect yourself to an investiture user. Do you have any ideas on the ones I could not fill in? -
It occurred to me that you could potentially hack the storage of Feruchemical weight, and likely speed as well. In Stormlight 4, near the end we see Ishar doing Bondsmithing shenanigans with the connection of the Windrunners. He ultimately is able to connect them to the ground to a degree where the Stormlight believes the ground is part of them and siphons off. My question here is if he did this to an iron ferring, could he connect them to a huge tungsten block weighing thousands of pounds. If so, when storing, would this not count as part of their weight, and allow you to hack physical weight. This would also theoretically work with physical speed by Connecting a Steelrunner to an extremely fast moving object, but that would likely be more dangerous.

Why don't Scadrian god-metals become aware.
The Stick replied to The Stick's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would argue that both the Lerasium and Atium would qualify as being left alone, because Ruin was imprisoned and couldn't locate the Atium, and Leras was essentially in a comatose state. I guess the issues is with how long the metals were left alone. -
One question I still have on Scadrial is how the lerasium bead near the well, and probably some of the hidden atium in the Trustwarren not come alive. They were sitting for nearly a thousand years or even longer, and we know that god-metal can become self-aware like the Honorblade. We also know that Odium shattered the Selish Shards early on, but Elantris is also one of the earliest stories chronologically, which would be a relatively decent sized time gap. Is there any information on how long it takes Investiture to become self-aware on its own.

Yes, especially on a planet where cream builds up regularly to cover pretty much everything old. Now that might now necessarily be the most satisfying explanation, but it works if Sanderson needs it to. Keep in mind some other stuff could have happened like potential worldhoppers trying to cart them away, or potentially the Unmade trying to manipulate them to get hidden.

A few things. First of all, it is mentioned multiple times that a lot of blades were simply lost over the centuries, and are now probably in remote locations without owners. Secondly, when blades are not summoned, the deadeyed spren has a physical form in Shadesmar that attempts to correspond it its location in the Physical realm. So all of the residents of Lasting Integrity are likely from lost blades that are not being actively summoned. We also know from the honorspren that a deadeyed resident being summoned as a blade will make the spren disappear from the current location.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
The Stick replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. However, the buzzer is ultrasonic and outside of human hearing. I wish for my washer to have a filter that automatically catches stray pens in the pockets. -
Chaplainform: This form is granted by bonding a deathspren, and gives instinctive understanding on how close one is to death(kind of like Saks). This form is very skilled at comforting the dying, with a very unaggressive looking form. Plagueform: This form is derived from rotspren, and allows the singer in question to accelerate the growth of different bacteria and deeply understand how things decay. This form would be gaunt, sickly, and short.

Welcome to the Shard! Would you rather pick up Nightblood, Hoid's worst personality traits, or a RAFO card? Also, which Shard would you Ascend to?

As a continuation of this, if someone theoretically burned a large amount of pure god-metal while also burning Duralumin, would they be Invested enough in that instant to become a Sliver? Edit: I just realized Elend did this at the end of HoA, but if he had consumed more, would this affect be achievable.

What are your thought on the new leaked SA5 chapter-
The Stick replied to Sythrin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That is interesting as a theory. The main issue is that Chana is Herald of the Dustbringers, and the aforementioned Honorblade would give Division and Abrasion, neither of which Shallan or Radiant seem to have any connections to. In the other hand, Dustbringers are all about self- mastery of destructive potential, which matches up extremely well with Radiant, so maybe there is something similar to this. -
Steel Inquisitors would not harvest a spike from you.

There is a mistagged WoB relating to the Shattering. Questioner Who invited Rayse to the Adonalsium-Shattering party? Brandon Sanderson Hehe, you will have to see. That is definitely a RAFO. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/9/#e7672 The tag below is for Hoid, when it should be for Rayse.

So as a logical continuation for this, there are also both forgery and F-Gold to worry about. I think Forgery performed to change someone to have the condition would almost certainly lead to them developing the symptoms, largely because Forgery is a tad more aggressive. F-Gold is tough. I think it probably would not hurt you necessarily, as you said above, but I think there is greater potential of something bad happening with no spren to keep things in check.

Let's say you are suffering from a long term disease, genetic in nature. Let's say cystic fibrosis for simplicity here. If you then bonded a radiant spren after having and knowing about the condition for years and years, what would happen. If you do indeed perceive yourself as having severe cystic fibrosis, assuming this was part of your life since birth, would you actually hurt yourself? The thinking here is if you simply perceive yourself as having it, you would grow further scar tissues in the lungs to match your Spiritual ideal. Any thoughts?

What are your thought on the new leaked SA5 chapter-
The Stick replied to Sythrin's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Aren't you forgetting about Nale's blade, which he reclaimed early on. Because your nine blades would imply them all except Taln's. -
Here, what I would like to posit is whether or not a Nicrobusts misting could Nicrobust another Nicrobust misting, so the Nicrobust from that misting applied to another misting, let's say a coinshot, would increase the power. If so, could mistborn use Duralumin to boos Nicrosil, then go down the line to crazily amplify powers?

Topic of the second half of Stormlight Archive
The Stick replied to Oltux72's topic in Stormlight Archive
The twists you suggest Quantus are probably more second half stuff once we get Herald flashbacks.
