  1. Not too much. The TFE symbols are from the TFE time period. The WoA symbols are from around the Ascension. The HoA symbols are from long before the Ascension. No worries about not knowing, it's not exactly common knowledge. Welcome back!
  2. I wouldn't be too worried about a mass gain. Minor AoL Spoilers
  3. The Steel alphabet was not invented by TLR. The HoA symbols are from even before the Ascension. They split off from the Terris script way back when.
  4. It's an interesting theory, but Brandon has explicitly confirmed that the name of the Surge is Transformation. Welcome to the forums!
  5. Mmhmm, but it still could be a compass rose for geographic north, couldn't it?
  6. It's all good dude. I understand that his religion is a relevant factor that may have influenced how Brandon wrote his books, but I'd prefer if we just stuck to evidence from canon here, when possible.
  7. I would like to announce that the wiki just hit 1111 articles! So everyone, make a wish!
  8. Hey, with all due respect guys, I'd like to request that this topic doesn't end up a discussion of how Brandon's beliefs reflect on the cosmere's rules. I do have more to this theory that I will post "soon", so I'd prefer we didn't get too off track. Thanks!
  9. Honestly, I'm surprised that didn't turn up in your magic bookshop like a year ago.
  10. Brandon has hinted that the Splintering of Devotion and Dominion is related in some way, but not entirely responsible. It also has to do with what Expanse Sel is.
  11. Ten Shards are in perfect balance but then the other six come along and mess everything up. (You know there are 16 Shards, right?) I wish I had the Tenth Heightening.
  12. She'd been watching him for a few months in Amaram's army, seeing how he took in weaker soldiers and protected them.
  13. Hey, that link doesn't work unless you have a paid account. Is the bit you quoted all there is to it, or is there more info to be had?
  14. We know as much about honorspren as is in TWoK. Their origin is unknown, although some of us think that it makes sense that they predate the other spren because there were Radiants before Honor was Splintered. I have no idea what you're asking for the last one. Do you mean how do they bond? I mean, the following is pretty self-explanatory. Syl can fly.
  15. Yep, Scadrians, Rosharans, Nalthians, and Selish, for future reference.
  16. Yeah, I think Takeshi's got it. Like Brandon said in the forum Q&A, he spent a huge amount of time working on that ketek. There's no way he forget how many parts it's supposed to have XD
  17. Yep, it's temporarily been taken down, due to the fact that it might have some connection with all the downtime we were experiencing a couple days ago. Chaos can tell you better than I.
  18. We don't know all the Herald's names. The full names of the Heralds attached to the numbers Chach and Palah are still unknown.
  19. Hey dude, glad to have you here! I'm super jealous of the fact that you met Brandon, I haven't gotten the chance yet. I hope you like the forums and have fun here!
  20. There are definitely more than three Shardholders dead. Dead Devotion - Aona Dominion - Skai Preservation - Leras Ruin - Ati Honor - Tanavast Alive Odium - Rayse Status Unknown Endowment - Unknown Cultivation - Unknown Unknown - Bavadin So, even if we assume that all the maybe Shardholders are still alive, the dead Shardholders outnumber the living ones. Personally, every time we hear of a new Shard or Shardholder, I've started assuming that they're dead. XD
  21. That's super confusing... Is anyone else reading it as there's some difference between Shadesmar and the Cognitive Realm? Also, interesting about Telsin... Now I understand that question XD
  22. I'd go so far as to say that there will definitely not be anything new in the WoT universe aside from River of Souls and the encyclopedia. Everything I've read has shown that both Brandon and Harriet seem uncomfortable with the idea. There are literally two sentences of material on what the outriggers were to be about. I can't imagine that there's much more for the prequels, which don't even seem to be what you were interested in. And it seems that there is pretty much universal opposition to any Star Wars-esque series of authors writing in RJ's world. While unfortunate for what is, from what I've read so far, an incredible saga, I think it's for the best. For many years, Jordan wasn't even sure he wanted someone to finish the main sequence if he passed away. I don't think it's justifiable to keep writing in his world. I'm also super excited to get more Stormlight, so if that's your thing, perhaps that would be a suitable replacement for WoT in the years to come.
  23. Not particularly close. The Nightwatcher is in central Roshar, in a valley in the mountains between Emul and Greater Hexi.
  24. Well, Nightblood, in his active state, isn't running off of those Breaths. He draws in Breaths from whoever's holding him. I don't see each individual Breath being a Splinter. But Vasher and Shashara did some pretty crazy stuff to forge Nightblood, I think it's possible that they've created an artificial Splinter by binding those thousand original Breaths together into one. It would explain some of Nightblood's Returned-like tendencies. They both hold Splinters of Endowment.
  25. Dude, you should totally come in the chatroom when you get a chance and help me think of some good questions. Sweet's going to a Brandon signing :D
