  1. Here's the wiki article that I made on spheres. Actually, Shallan states that only nine of the Polestones are used in spheres.(That reference is actually on the wiki page) The only sphere types that are not mentioned in TWoK are heliodor or smokestone. My bet is on smokestone as not being one of the typical spheres. I'm pretty sure the lower four levels have two types of spheres of equivalent value, but emerald broams alone are the most valuable. So we know that there's another level of value in there somewhere. I'd imagine that firemarks fall into this level because they seem fairly commonly referenced. Then zircon, amethyst, topaz, and heliodor/smokestone would be placed alongside the bottom four, somewhere. I'm not sure there's any way to logically determine where, considering we don't know much about them.
  2. Well, lets discuss some problems with this. Firstly, most of the Words of Founding can be read by anyone. The only knowledge that we know for sure that's been restricted is about Hemalurgy. Secondly, Sazed's backup metalminds are significantly out of date. There's never any mention of him going to them, and he's never had time to go find them and store his knowledge of Hemalurgy or anything interesting about the cosmere that he found out. So basically if someone finds those copperminds, they can tap them and find out information that they could have read in a book. The religions are all in the Words of Founding. Thirdly, those back-up metalminds are gone. The whole world was razed. After it was razed, the crust of the planet has literally been shifted, basins formed, mountains raised and flattened (All things Sazed would have had to have done to return Scadrial to its original state, something we know he did). The ruins of cities are gone, old locations have no more meaning. Sazed's metalminds could be under an ocean, or a mountain, or have been shifted into the mantle. And on the off chance that someone somewhere digs them up, who would even know what they were? They'd think they were bits of copper, probably from old tools or something. No one thinks, "Hey look at these rusty pieces of metal, I found god's jewelry!" And continuing on in this vein of implausibility, even if someone identified them, no one would believe that person. It'd be like someone claiming to find the Holy Grail. And as for Sazed's real metalminds, those are locked up tight, I'm certain. And even if someone did gain access to them, and used the trick no one knows about, what would they find? The copperminds are empty, the others practically drained. The only people who would "revere" someone who had Sazed's stuff are the Pathians, and their religion specifically prohibits the worship that this "heir of Sazed" would have to demand in order to have any real effect. Not to mention that the Pathians aren't an overwhelming majority by far, the Survivorists are at least as powerful, if not moreso. Sazed's metalminds, back-ups or originals, aren't going to be granting any knowledge or making anyone a powerful religious leader.
  3. IRC died on us, and I was the first one back. Recipe for disaster... I had to take the opportunity. D:
  4. I think they probably go to the same place as everyone else does, after all that's what happens to Vin. Kel and TLR probably won't be doing any fighting, considering Kel didn't go on to the afterlife, and is just chilling in Shadesmar for now. Perhaps he's aboard Hoid's zeppelin
  5. I "think" it was the homepage? I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to check it out.
  6. Sazed's copperminds are empty, he tapped all of the knowledge in them into his head as he Ascended.
  7. Haha loved it you guys. If they make an Elantris movie, I can't imagine the sound of the Reod could be done better then that A couple quick answers to some questions you guys brought up: 1. One likely reason that the Elantrians turn foul is that they have a bad Aon constantly acting on them. The same exact thing happened to Seala, Dilaf’s wife. Raoden says otherwise, but I think he's wrong in this situation. Although you do get into complex territory when you remember that the Shaod is an effect of Elantris. I strongly agree with Mi'ch that Elantrians have a constant connection to the Dor. 2. In my opinion Seons aren’t screwed up by the Shaod because they aren’t drawing power through that Aon. It’s a discreet bit of spiritual energy, largely independent from the other Seons, except for it’s intent. As Brandon said during the Q&A, if a Seon now tried to “actualize” their Aon (sacrifice their life to use their Aon) it wouldn’t work right. 3. I think the wounded boy is healed when the city is restored, just like how Raoden’s head injury and gut wound are healed, as you so rightly said. Aiden also gets his autism cured. 4. Raoden doesn’t hate his father too much because a part of him still sees his dad as the hero he thought he was when Iadon was a merchant and Raoden was a boy. "Yet, when news of his father's demise actually came, Raoden found his emotions traitorously melancholy. His heart wanted to forget the Iadon of the Iast five years, instead remembering the Iadon of Raoden's childhood. His father had been the most successful merchant in all of Arelon-respected by his countrymen and loved by his son. He had seemed a man of honor and of strength. Part of Raoden would always be that child who saw his father as the greatest of heroes." 5. The reason Hrathen doesn't recognize Dilaf is that he had his shape molded and twisted into the form of an Arelene before he infiltrated Arelon, so he looks nothing like how he did when Hrathen knew him previously. 6. I don't think Forgery can be the original plan for how Galladon functions on Roshar because TWoK was published before Brandon developed Forgery as a system. Loved the podcast, keep them coming guys
  8. I certainly hope so, they're too cool to go to waste. And considering that they're scavengers, there's always going to be a food source.
  9. I don't think just sticking a spike in anywhere you like would work. You need to hit a bindpoint in order to stop the decay. This could still work with a kandra, they have bindpoints like humans do (you can give kandra Allomancy after all). The best benefit about having a kandra hold onto these spikes is that you don't have to stab them with them, they can simply form their bodies around the spikes, like TenSoon does. It's not a practical solution though. There are only so many kandra left in the world, and Brandon's said Sazed doesn't want any more. Who even knows if there are any mistwraiths left after the Ascension? Rashek gave them that form to survive in a biome that no longer exists. A better solution is one that was hinted at in the RPG. There are "very special preparations" that can be performed to stop a spike's decay.
  10. He said it was "scrapped" in the Q&A. Lance inquired further at HalCon and Brandon said that he'll be rewriting it from scratch, much like he did for Kings.
  11. Thanks Cheese Ninja, this is good stuff to have!
  12. I think it got decided that I'm going to be imputing stuff from this side of things. I do not have access though. I made an account on theoryland (Windrunner there as well). I think Eric's planning on emailing my contact info to you, but he's been busy. Do you want me to send it to you?
  13. Thanks for these Terez! I'm sorry that I haven't been better about staying on top of things; Zach left some pretty big shoes to fill. I have two more interviews, and the Warbreaker annotations all tagged and ready to go as well.
  14. I would like to announce that I finally found a quote I've been trying to find for a month. I can now cite that, "Hoid has metal he isn't supposed to have"! Finality deserves loads of upvotes for that bit of info.
  15. The first one's been answered in the recent Q&A, IF. Roshar has only that one supercontinent. There is other "stuff" out there in the oceans though. If I'm remembering right, there are latitude markings on one of the maps, and the continent is in the southern hemisphere, which makes sense, considering the "Frostlands" are in the south and Iri and the Reshi Isles, in the north, are tropical.
  16. Do you remember where you got these facts? They'd make awesome additions to the Roshar page, if I'm remembering right we don't have them yet.
  17. That's not a great idea, if I'm remembering what Eric told me right, that's in violation of some wikia copyright law thing.
  18. Well the rest of Roshar has crazy seasons, but it just wouldn't work on Shinovar. What do all the deciduous trees do, lose their leaves every time it's winter for a coupe of weeks? (Most all the leaves on the trees up here were gone in days) Lets look at strawberries; it takes about 14 weeks for them to grow from seed (8 from an already established plant). If I'm remembering right, TWoK mentioned how 6 weeks of one season was a long time. Those strawberries wouldn't take well to getting frozen. And many crops take even longer then that to grow. I just don't think there's anyway for the crazy seasons to be in force in Shinovar if they're growing Earth-like food.
  19. Hey Nepene, I was on the SA wiki and noticed that Aetherstorm was making edits there. You know that this is our wiki, right? Or were you there intentionally?
  20. Scheduled downtime? I feel like there should be an award or something XD
  21. I said that exact thing in the second half of that same paragraph...
  22. I think Lightflame is referring to how the Shin calendar works when they likely don't experience weepings there because of the shelter provided by the Misted Mountains. A Shin year probably works just like ours do. Year lengths are probably one full seasonal cycle, although which day they decide is the "beginning" is probably just a cultural thing. Also, in the book, it's said that the first day after the Weepings end, and presumably the first day of the year is called Lightday. Not sure if that takes the place of Jeseses though.
  23. Well they somehow managed to, because it's pretty heavily implied that the Oathpact was between Honor (Cultivation maybe?) and Odium, and that certainly seems to be an agreement.
  24. More poor timing as I was panicing about the dentist. XD
  25. Ok, I'd say that's about enough. I don't see the Denth debate getting solved anytime soon. We've moved away from my original theory pretty far now, so if you'd like to keep debating this, please make a topic of your own. I don't want my theory as some sort of epic battleground. If you'd like I'm even willing to move the topics discussing this to elsewhere for you. If anyone else has something to contribute that directly relates to my theory, feel free, I'd love to hear from you
