  1. Yeah, I strongly agree with Nepene on this one. It's a fragment of a Divine Breath that's responsible for the Royal Locks, so if only one small part of a Divine Breath can cause that to happen, I imagine it can happen to someone with a full Divine Breath as well. As for why Blushweaver didn't freak out like that, it's probably because she died relatively quickly. Neither her nor Lightsong expected that they'd be in any real danger, and Lightsong only had the chance to yell a quick phrase before she was gone. Denth died relatively slowly. I think making him a member of the royal family makes things unnecessarily complicated.
  2. Aye, I had seen something in the book recently that seemed to hint that direction too, but I had Josh ask a question for me about it at the recent signing and apparently there's a pretty interesting answer, so we'll just have to sit tight for a bit.
  3. I'm not really sure why you'd think Syl is wrong about being an honorspren, but there's no way that honorspren are unconnected to the Shard Honor. Saying so would make very little sense, and needlessly complicate things.
  4. Spren are not tied specifically to Honor, some are all Honor, others are all Cultivation, and the rest are a mixture between the two.
  5. See, I disagree on that Joe. I'll quote my analysis on it from my OP.
  6. Here's the quote you guys were thinking of, although it was referring to the Astalsi.
  7. I don't know about the copyright, but if you're transcribing one of these, make sure it's the youtube one, as Stringbean says he'll be doing he recording himself.
  8. I've had similar thoughts Yados, we were discussing that in my Shardic Constructs topic, if you want to look at what everyone had to say and add your opinion. Aethling, you can't just decide to stick around, there's specific ways that you need to be tied to the Physical Realm to stick around after death.
  9. Well, the "intermediate" state you're referencing seems to be the Cognitive Realm. Brandon's stated that's where Kelsier was waiting for Preservation's power, and at least one person with the death visions described Shadesmar.
  10. Joe, you're amazing! I'm loving the new additions to the infoboxes. Is there anyway we could edit the Template:C so we can cite the "Day"s that TES is divided into, since it doesn't go by chapter?

  11. I didn't say they were the same. As my first paragraph says, I didn't count slave form. Slave form is nothing, simple Parshmen. I was speaking of the original Parshendi form, the first "thinking Parshmen" (although I've no idea how they became bound with whatever spren in the first place). This is what the excerpt says, "There were two other forms, though the first, dull form, was rarely used. It was not a keen minded form. It was a relic of the past, before they'd rediscovered something better". Sounds like, to me at least, that the first Parshendi were of dull form, who then managed to discover some of the other more useful forms, so dull form has now been mostly abandoned. Does that make sense to you?
  12. Hey Zenouous, good to have you here! Have you read any of Brandon's other works aside from TWoK?
  13. Here's a natural question. If forms are created by bonding a Parshendi with a spren, what spren are needed for the five (not counting slave since it doesn't have a spren) forms the Parshendi already know about? I'm really not sure although I might hazard a guess that creationspren would be useful for the art form their attempting to find. It sounds like if they're bringing this spren with them during a highstorm they're probably trapping them in gems. What would happen if a Parshendi tried to bond with a musicspren? Considering how musically inclined they are already, it seems like something cool would happen. Could a bond with a potential "odiumspren" make them into Voidbringers? Here's a list of the forms for everyone. What spren are they bound with? Warrior - The Parshendi with the carapace armor Mating-Pretty self explanatory, has trouble concentraring on anything but mating Work-Unknown shape, has trouble commiting violence Thin-Dextous and careful Dull-Unintelligent in some way, sounds like the initial Parshendi form
  14. I doubt Brandon would leave a character alive that Jordan specifically said would die, but from what I've read there are quite a few holes in the notes. If Brandon made the call to keep one character alive, whose fate wasn't dictated either way, and Harriet felt strongly that the character should die, I can see Brandon bowing before her wishes. Another thing to keep in mind is that Harriet is an editor. If Jordan originally wanted a character to live, Harriet could still disagree with that, and maybe could think the story is stronger if that character dies. It wouldn't really be any different then her disagreeing with Jordan keeping a character alive in a book he wrote.
  15. That quote is out of date Cheese Ninja. Brandon had to shift the timelines of the books around substantially, due to a behind the scenes conflict. Warbreaker is still before TWoK and AoL but now those two happen almost concurrently. I think AoL may be a hair later, but don't quote me on that. Brandon's said he's not going to answer anymore timeline questions for a while now, because he wants to work on his a bit to make sure no other conflicts will arise.
  16. No worries dude, it's not really a big deal. It's super easy to do anyways.
  17. It will get done. I'd do it now, but I don't have power over the events board, which is where this belongs, so I can't move or merge it with the other topic. Let me just say, I had chills listening to this. The Shattered Plains had a city at one time, and from the sounds of it the whole area was populated. I'm leaning towards this being the old capital of Natanatan. And "hundreds" of forms? This wait's gonna kill me.
  18. Also, if you bought the paperback you can get it by emailing Brandon with the receipt or a picture of you holding to the book to ebooks (at) brandonsanderson.com Hope this helps
  19. Another thing to keep in mind with the medical stuff, is that there was a direct hint from Brandon in the MAG that metalminds can be created that anyone can tap. If Scadrians figure this process out (probably has something to do with identity) they could create goldminds for anyone in need of immediate medical care, like heart attack or stroke victims or mortally wounded cops. So spikes may not be necessary for this particular process. Although, I don't envy the guy whose job it is to store health constantly.
  20. There is confirmed to be an afterlife in the cosmere My personal theory is that people go onto this afterlife because they've lost their Physical aspect, and cannot exist for long in a universe where it seems that everything has all three aspects.

    Gemmel?

Here you go! If you look under the cover, you can click that drop-down menu and select the digital edition. That's what I bought as well. I didn't regret it at all, the story is wonderful. Full disclosure, so you know what you're paying for, the story is about twelve and a half pages long. It's also got lots of interesting facts about the world of Scadrial. I think Brandon mentioned that the story would appear exclusively in the MAG for at least a couple years before he'd consider posting it on his site.
  22. Something grabs Shallan's leg in the sea of beads, but she's rescued by Jasnah before it can get her.
  23. Any who wants to transcribe it, let me know here. It's 52 minutes long, so there'll definitely be a forum award in it.
  24. New transcription of the Q&A at HalCon thanks to Lance! It can be found here. Let me know if you want to do it, so we won't get any repeats.
  25. Huh? Denth isn't related to the House of Idris, unless I've forgotten something. He's a Returned, which gives them the ability to change his appearance. (Although few know how it's done) The Royal Locks are actually a lesser form of this ability. I believe Denth's hair color is freaking out in the end because of his extreme emotion and pain from dying.
