  1. I'll say that the Parshendi's motivation for the assassination of Gavilar is, in part at least, revealed in his two readings, a bit in both. If you guys had already heard, my apologies, but it seems like this debate wouldn't be happening if you had.
  2. Really enjoyed it, guys. Although, I do have to say, I really enjoyed the chapter triad system. I didn't want to put it down, because I always wanted to get onto the next instance of a character, although which character I was excited about fluctuated as the story went on. I'll bet you guys just can't wait to see it in action in Elantris 2 & 3 Did everyone else have problems with it?
  3. Yeah, those are all great arguments. The bottom line for me is, as was mentioned above, skeletals can't exist naturally, it's not believeable, so if it was Forgery, it shouldn't work. If the wrong type of glass, or a bad motivation are enough to screw with a Forgery, I think walking skeletons would too.
  4. Sorry, I didn't mean the "glossing over" to sound confrontational, I had just mentioned it before, so I thought you'd been ignoring it. My apologies
  5. Heh, no problem. It's right here. Pretty great stuff in there. This is the second one, with the stormform. You've heard the first one, right? If not, it's here. Enjoy, it's incredible!
  6. The second reading says that Gavilar told them about a plan that freaked out Eshonai and some other Parshendi so much that they had him assassinated. It doesn't explain how they got Szeth's Oathstone though. If you put two and two together, it seems that Gavilar's plan would return the Parshendi gods somehow.
  7. Well, since you store each sense separately, you could simply store touch, perhaps that would keep the pain away? The ability to store senses separately makes a Tin Compounder pretty powerful, they can compound for a huge amount of the senses they want, and store away the ones that are distracting them.
  8. Fun fact from TWoK, from a portion of Gavilar's biography, emphasis mine. As for stormform? If the Parshendi really are related to the Voidbringers, we know there are legends of Voidbringers walking the storms. Perhaps the Stormform somehow allows them to move about during highstorms? The concept is terrifying if you consider the potential of an attack on the warcamps during a storm. The Alethi would be cowering inside, unable to come out and fight. If the Parshendi were smart they could even try to get the interiors of the buildings burning, to drive the Alethi out into the storm.
  9. Mmhmm, I actually put the question to Josh to ask Brandon about, so we'll see what the audio comes back with, when it's done. I'm fairly certain Forgery and Bloodsealing are not the same thing. Dude, what you say is true, but do you really think that "coincidentally" a magic system and the name of one of the Shardholders is the same? Skai already has his thing, in the form of the Skaze. Sure they could have mixed things up, but Ati and Leras still stuck as the names of things from their Shards. Sure, one Aon has a similar bit to part of a Shard's intent. You've neatly glossed over the fact that no one on Sel uses the word Dominion. It's in English, they speak an entirely different language. Aona and Aon are both cosmere words. Omi is cosmere and Dominion is not.
  10. 1. No there is no relationship. Brandon has said this multiple times. 2. We don't know, some of us think a lerasium/atium alloy could do it.
  11. Another double post? This is getting to be a bad habit XD I had to show of Joe's drop off into insanity
  12. While the third trilogy will have more overt cosmere stuff, such as Hoid as a more major character like in Stormlight, I don't think it will be the serious with the most cosmere content. Brandon wants to write a "conflux" book that's separate from his other series.
  13. Elantrians can get sick. It's not common, but Galladon's father died of heart disease. Of course, he could have gotten that cured.
  14. Panic in the chatroom!
  15. Well, I'm slightly confused why this is relevant, considering I was giving evidence for why AonDor seems to be of Devotion rather then Dominion, and not discussing religion at all really. Care to point out the connection I'm missing? Also, these guys speak Aonic. (Or Arelish or whatever) Simply because a word from Sel sounds like a word from here doesn't mean that they two are connected at all. As a matter of fact, Domi comes from the Aon Omi, meaning love, which is certainly more in keeping with Devotion rather then Dominion.
  16. Good to know! I don't think we've ever met. I'm Windrunner, welcome back!
  17. We don't think so. AonDor, as I'm sure you can see contains the prefix "Aon" which seems to be a part of the name Aona, who we know held Devotion. Also, if you look carefully, the Elantrians are all "Devoted" to something, Raoden to his people, Karata to her family, Galladon to his farm, Taan to his sculpting. This seems to imply that the Shaod takes those who are especially devoted to something, which again, makes it seem like Devotion is the Shard behind this magic. But then there's the confusing fact that four of the five manifestations of Investiture on Sel (and probably all five, we don't know about Bloodsealing yet) draw power from the Dor, who's nature is still unclear.
  18. Just a surprising thing I noticed the other day while wikiing. You guys all remember the Unmade, correct? Often theorized to be Odium's equivalent of the Heralds? They're usually described with the word "consumed" or "consuming". While that's old news, what I did notice is that Dalinar often refers to himself as being "consumed" by the Thrill. Interesting, huh?
  19. But wasn't the whole point of the argument that social tendency doesn't matter because the value of these gems should be fluctuating depending on what new spheres are made? I don't know much about economics, so I could be missing a step here.
  20. Eh, I'm inclined to disagree here. Everything you guys say makes perfect sense, but the math of the spheres works out too perfect for it to be simple coincidence. No fractional sphere values, nice round numbers. I don't know how it would work, but it seems like some pretty set values to me.
  21. Not of the pin yet, I was referring to the table. Once I get the pin, I'll be sure to post some pictures for everyone to get a look at it
  22. Sorry for another double post XD I would like to announce that I bought the fine art print of the Feruchemical table. Also that Inkthinker has me thoroughly hooked with the collectible set of Radiant pins... Lets just say if they're all going to be free gifts, I'm going to have a lot of t-shirts pretty soon In all seriousness it looks beautiful and everyone I've talked to who has it says it's gorgeous. I can't wait
  23. Double post for breaking news announcement! You don't need to breathe!
  24. Hmm, thanks for that valueable info! However, I still strongly disagree with you on the color thing. Even if they are a similar color, they are not the same. After all, if we go with your argument on color, we only have 7 different colors in there.
  25. This is info from the RPG, a direct quote from Brandon.
