  1. Pulls out electromagnetic weapon* "Sir, this is your last warning".
  2. I know 2 people at my school who play D&D. I'm in the discord server, and the club isn't school oriented.
  3. Yeah before I moved my old middle school was massive! I'm glad I don't go there anymore lol. + people there were mean.
  4. Partially, but I feel like I would be able to learn a lot more, and get things done more easily at home. My parents want to homeschool me for religious reasons though.
  5. I'm socially awkward in real life too *trust me
  6. My parents might make me be homeschooled. I actually don't mind that idea; I'm currently in High School (public school) and it kind of sucks. How good is homeschooling in your opinions?
  7. Baahh, it's okay. -P.S. I didn't see this post earlier ;-;
  8. Hello. I'm posting this on my profile to record my Cosmere reading progress. I've been on a long Stormlight hiatus ever since I finished Oathbringer, and am going to pick up on Rythm of War once I finish this Star Trek book because I'm going on fall break. Once I finish Stormlight and the Cosmere in general, I will evidently be on the Shard more.

      Zephrun’s Imperium

      Oh my goodness, thank you!

  10. Happy spooky month! P.S.- I'm going to follow a lot of inktober threads; it's interesting to see people's progress
  11. There issss a way you can send permanent ones too in the settings. Can I have the link?
  12. Hello, I'm socially awkward. By the way, did everyone on this thread revert to the discord? P.S.- I'm asking this because the link to the server is re-directing me to the app in general and not the invite link.
  13. To preface, yes DID is usually protrayed in a bad way by the media, yet Shallan's instance of DID is quite different lest I don't even know if you could even label her as having DID. I'm no phsycologist, only a teen speculating on the internet, though I have read articles and watched videos about the disorder. DID is usally caused by trauma, which Shallan has yes, though most people with the disorder black out before changing into said alternate personality like Treamayne said. I've seen an interview where a person could even make the conscious choice to bring out one of their alters, yet they still blacked out, and their personality and behavior changed completely. The person demostrated the transition for the interview, though for the most part, they coudn't control when a stimulus triggered them on a regular basis leading them subconsciously change into an altered state. Heck a person with the disorder could be doing the dishes, but since water is one of their triggers they could change personalities without the willingness to do so. Additionally, a person with DID may feel quite disregulated, and they might have to find ways to communicate with their altered personallities (via writing things down and what not) in order to get things done. Shallan doesn't black out or wake up in a completely different place with a distorted memory of what happened, rather she brings out another side of herself to help cope or handle issues. P.S. - If I got anything wrong let me know. P.S. x2 - I should have mentioned that people don't purposefully create their alters like Shallan did.
  14. Name: Solar District: 7 Gender: Female
  15. I have never read Skyward despite being a teen, but maybe I'll try it someday. P.S., "retroactive handwavey pseudeo-science explanation" l0l. Editorial note: I read sci-fi and I'm not sure why, but I feel that Sanderson is one of those authors who strongly specializes in epic fantasy and is eh for other sub-genres such as sci-fi.
  16. The weather delayed my book for 2 days, but Oathbringer is finally here! I'll keep you posted.
  17. l0l Interesting idea; I'll take it into consideration. P.s. These stories/books that I am creating are never going to see the light of day and I don't mind if anyone takes this trope idea.
  18. I feel like I have heard a similar idea to this, though I have thought up a trope where everyone else left on earth has a pasueatronic brain and is immortal. You would be the only one to feel true emotions. It's almost the reverse of Star Trek, where Data (an andriod) is lonely in a sense that he cannot feel, nor display true laughter and wants to become more humanoid.
  19. For some odd reason I cannot edit my original response to the thread, but I will quote you here. Lol! Yes, I agree, weapons by electricity should definitely be used more in fantasy! It would be cool if electrictal currents could somehow be used to alter a person's response to certain stimuli. Okay, now I have found this cool Sci-Show psych video on it:
  20. In the instance of an electrical shock, a current of 20mA can cause a person to loose control of their diaphragm (therefore they stop breathing), and a mere 100 mA can cause a person's heart to stop.
  21. I am to start Oathbringer (for the first time) today. It was supposed to arrive in the mail yesterday lest the rain delayed it oof.
  22. I won't read this full thread since Oathbringer is coming in the mail for me today (hence the spoilers), though I'll gladly share my thoughts on it once I am finished. I have been reading other books and went to camp, so hopefully I didn't forget too many small details.
