    I'm upset, flabbergasted, and quite annoyed.

    So, if you guys didn't know, WIRED did a profile on Brandon Sanderson. Last year, Brandon invited the reporter into his home, showed him the company, his lifestyle, and how he writes, and was extremely open with him. The article is ruthless and in my opinion unnecessarily cruel to Sanderson. It mocks his religion, his community, the way he dresses, his family, his writing, people at conventions, and even the way his son eats...like storming what! It makes me pretty upset.

    Anyway DONT look up the article cause it gives the article more clicks/revenue—if you want a good summary check out Daniel Greene's Video

    I mean, I get it if you don't like a person or their writing, but writing a condescending and elitist 4000 word essay about it seems unnecessary.

    Everyone is capable of being mature! Yeah, it's annoying when our hard work and accomplishments don't get recognition. Comparing ourselves to others is a very difficult thing to get over, especially when we feel like we need that recognition. You're not worthless, cellist. You've achieved a lot. Try to focus on the things that you can control. You can control how hard you work and how much effort you put into your goals. Even if you don't always get the recognition you deserve, you can still feel good about your efforts. Also, yeah it's hard when we feel like we're being treated differently based on gender. But we all have our own experiences, and separating the world into groups based on gender isn't very good cause it generalizes people. Kinda the thing you were just complaining about above You're a cool person, Cellist. Don't get distracted by other things

      Me too! It was the day after school shut down for me, which happened to be the day after pi day of 2020.

    Twas closing night for our musical. We finished nicely with a heartwarming ceremony for the seniors, but right now I'm kinda just feeling sad. 

    I spent almost 18 hours today with my friends doing musical stuff. I really don't know what I'm going to do without them. I go to a small school (about 70 kids per grade) and one nice thing about that is everybody knows each other super well―the cheering is quite spectacular.

    I'm going to miss it all. The music, the memories, the magic...everything.

    Also, my orchestra conductor is my hero. I'm really going to miss him too. I've seen him almost every day for the past 7 years and I tear up thinking about not having that. He's been there for me so much and it makes me sad to think about leaving.

    My core friend group is all in orchestra with me and we have one more concert. Just ONE more. I can't bear thinking about it. We've been playing together literally since first grade! It's going to be a really tearful parting. And 2 months till I leave high school behind and go on internships. THIS IS INSANE

    Can someone explain why growing up is so sad??

    Also it's currently 1:22 AM and I'm running on about 5 hours of sleep from last night so apologies if this SU just doesn't make sense

      Growing up really is sad (says the small child stuck in 8th grade). I can relate to a lot of this from leaving show choir. It'll definitely be sad for a while, but you'll be okay :)
