  1. Okay...I guess I'll defer to your judgement.
  2. ...You destroyed the world so you're making a new RP?
  3. I started that series once. I don't remember anything about it except there was a guy named Septimus and also magic.
  4. I agree, Haly is not food.
  5. The thing you don't understand is that food's purpose is to be eaten, and therefore it wants to be eaten. It's not like death to them. It's fulfilling their purpose. They don't have a concept of death. Like, think of the little bead of food in Shadesmar. It's not going to be scared of being eaten. It's going to want to be eaten, because it's food, and that's what food does.
  6. Once again, I have a hyperfixation and no one to talk to about it

Yeah I love them both, honestly :D

  7. Is it weird that I keep finding myself instinctively capitalizing the word Idea?

It seems like Identity and Ideal, which I frequently capitalize, so it could be that

      Edema Rue

I keep capitalizing Normal, but I blame stats for that.

  8. Sorry; yeah, that should work.
  9. Welp

There's a new game in the top five

    Maybe top 3

I don't know, my ranking system is all wack because I never like things for the same reasons I like other things.

I need to eventually play outer wilds. Also @Edema Rue @The Bookwyrm I’ve watched the first hour and a half of Interstellar.

Interstellar is amazing. It's definitely up there for me.

There are a couple of movies I like more, though...

I own outer wilds, but haven't had time to play it. maybe this summer

  10. Betrayed which country? The one the assassin is from, or the Empire her nation is fighting? ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION THE MAGIC SYSTEM SHE USES She has the power to solidify and manipulate shadows, using them kind of as tentacles, but overusing the power causes her vision to fade, which can cause temporary blindness. If she uses her powers too much, it causes permanent blindness. So there's a limit. The shadowy magic system is kind of frowned upon in society, which is why she's a sneaking assassin instead of a soldier.
  11. @Telrao, I would've thought your favorite spren were Seons.
  12. Unanimously, I have misinterpreted the situation, it appears. Haly, if you think you're ready for it, go ahead.
  13. Okay, this is dying. I don't know if each of us have the focus and interest left in this project to worldbuild a world, design characters, and plan a scene, and then meticulously write a scene based on that outline. If we want to keep doing it, we can, but I would like to propose an entirely NEW experiment: Each participant writes a scene that is the ending of a story. Then they give the ending to another writer, and that writer has to write a scene that is the beginning of said story.
  14. I think something like this was done long ago, even before my era. And so a new one is built.
  15. Heyyyyyyy!

    We know you!

      Woah, I know you!!

  16. Welp

    I finished it

    I'm sleep deprived and reeling

    WaT spoilers:

    Spoiler

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    WHAT

My mind is too scrambled to parse out every single thought I had like I did for Tress way back when.

I caught the hints about the Gavinor thing (but NOT the SR timeskip that blew my mind)

I called that "Formless" had something to do with Iyatil and/or Mraize, and I totally called that 12124 was Aux

Other than that everything completely blindsided me.

    Oh my gosh.

    What does this all mean?

I will say I was very happy to see that Syl is still with Kaladin. I thought they were being separated and was more sad about that than I was about Dalinar's death. His story was a good one. I'm still sad though.

Also we got multiple Hoid on Scadrial POVs in this book which is funny.

And we almost got Worldhopper Shallan, except I like her and Adolin's relationship far too much for that.

    Oh yeah Adolin is awesome.

Also if it takes eighty years on the outside for ten years to pass on Roshar then Era 3 and Back-Half will essentially be consecutive, if not simultaneous, which...wow. He's got it all planned out.

I can go Shardcast now, yay.

    Um

    Yeah

It's going to take me a while to recover from this

    I'm so happy

      The Bookwyrm

So true. So very, very true.

      It was awesome.

  17. ...Why is it something though?
  18. That's all worldbuilding is, to be fair.
  19. I will say: NOTHING in space is stationary. Some things just accelerate far slower than other things. I like space station though. I still want it to be an O'neill Cylinder because those are cool. *** So the premise thus far is Humanity has expanded to the outer reaches of the Solar System, is on the brink of discovering FTL, and aliens come and visit them? If that is the case we might want to slighly lower the human's general tech level, cause they aren't yet interstellar. Or maybe they borrow tech from the aliens.
  20. Sorry I'm being kind of pushy... Also I forgot you mentioned Star-Destroyer sized and yeah that basically fits the bill. Are you thinking space-station or ship? Uh I dunno.
  21. Once we have all the details down I'll probably go edit the original post to include the outline for the scene.
  22. I want to try, but I probably won't be around for super long...that's not an issue though, as something terrible can happen to my character.
  23. They don't necessarily have to orbit anything. What if we go a little bigger? Something like this: So like...city sized, rather than neighborhood sized. (This is called an O'Neill Cylinder; this one's kind of on the smaller end of what you might see in sci-fi) Or something like this: Where the blue habitat pod is the size of a (small) city. (This is like an interstellar ark type ship.) Both of those are pretty big, but it gives us more room to do stuff. Either we're people living on the ship/station and have to deal with a problem that arises, or we're a group that investigates the ship/station after contact is lost. If we are leaning horror, that second option would add to the vibe, because we have this place meant to hold thousands or tens of thousands of people and it's completely abandoned. (But you don't have the daunting sense of scale a large-scale bishop ring would give you.)
  24. How big is gigantic? Cause I was thinking surface-area-roughly-equal-to-a-planet gigantic.
