Perhaps the salt is another silver salt that isn't poisonous to humans(or at least Lumarians) which explains why both silver and salt kill the spores.

Ah, so there is no proven connection between Nightblood and Ruin, correct?
-
Sazed tells us that when he has Vin try to burn one of his metalminds in HoA. He explains to her about the block when traits are stored by another.
-
Ruin's mist? I missed something, I thought Ruin and Preservation stayed together until Sazed took up the shards and became Harmony. I request an explanation.

A person cannot access the investiture stored by another in a normal metalmind, they can both store in the same peace of metal, there will just be a block where traits have already been stored, like cometaryorbit said.

My thoughts on this matter are that it would take more energy to hold the two "subplanets" together and shape them into planets of their own, all while avoiding widespread destruction on the surface, but knowing that the changes made in Mistborn were so large makes me think that Virtuosity would have to already be weakened by the power.

Questions for Secret Project #3 Spoiler Stream

There has been a debate about this on another thread, but I think you may want to be careful how you word this as the definition of an Invested Art may not be exclusive to systems only some people can access -
Questions for Secret Project #3 Spoiler Stream
Lego Mistborn replied to Fritochip's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Were the two planets(Yumi's and Painter's) once the same and separated, perhaps in correlation with the splintering of Virtuosity? I have a theory about this posted on this forum, so I'm looking for others' thoughts on it. I would also love it if Brandon were to answer, but I can't submit this question, so if anyone were to ask, I would very much be in debt. -
Could we guess the last Shard ?
Lego Mistborn replied to Friendshipspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Several places, the easiest of which to access is probably the coppermind -
First off, this does have some spoilers for Mistborn and some SA, so if I need to put them in spoiler tags, let me know. Alright, here goes. My thoughts have to with the nature of the two planets. In another thread someone suggested that some cataclysm caused one planet to split into the two we get now, but I figured that it was unlikely, as doing so would not leave the civilizations intact. In the comment I posted, however, I said maybe the splintering of virtuosity had to do with it. Let me explain how I think this would come about. First, why would the planet be split? I propose that another force, perhaps whatever caused the shades on Threnody or an avatar of Odium (since we know he is trying to splinter all the shards) arrived at the planet. This force caused chaos and harm on the planet, focused around one area, and never reaching more than halfway across the planet, Over time,* it became clear that virtuosity could not defeat this force, so she decides to stop its growth, similar to what we find out Leras does to Ati. *Edit: the force weakened Virtuosity during this time, which is what made it clear that she could not defeat it. Now we need to know how this happens. I believe that Virtuosity decided to isolate the force, and the method she chose to use was to split the planet. The issue with this is how violent this action would be. As you may know, a habitable planet probably behaves like earth, and earth has a molten core. To split the planet, she would have to find a way to stop the core from spilling everywhere. In addition, the gravitational pull of the planet would mean that as it split, insane levels of seismic activity would occur as the two halves would basically try to rip themselves apart. This means that an awesome amount of energy, in this case investiture, is required. This is where we get to the splintering. We can guess how much energy is needed based on Rashek and Vin's attempts to modify Scadrial. Both times they got access to the body of Preservation's power, but they were only able to make relatively small changes, in a matter of a few seconds. To split the planet, Virtuosity would extend herself so far that she is splintered. The split of the planet has splintered Virtuosity, and so the force, while trapped on the one half that becomes Painter's world, is free to do what it wants there. Now, at this point in time, the two halves still use the magic system in the same way, but corruption is seeping in. Over time, the spirits become tained and trapped on Painter's world, but the ones on Yumi's world either remain the same or are ones freed by a combination of painting and rock stacking. By the time of SP3, the power has such a hold on the magic, that it is starting to infringe on Yumi'd world via the two halves' connection. This is what leads the spirits to call out for Yumi's help. (the halves' connection is what enables the body swap.) Here is the source: @teknopathetic 7th reply There you go, as I get feedback I'll edit this, so please tell me what you think.

It's been implied that the "lost metal" is harmonium, the last god metal. Edit: Maybe that's my own wishful interpretation.
-
That is a good point, I kind of interpreted it as three different systems, but I guess it could be that SP 4 is a place we've heard of before.

Yeah that's what I meant by a spaceship, just a way to get to Yumi's planet. -
Noooooooo! We were too late to stop Thaidakar.

Hello fellow new person. Don't take the cookies, and so far, from what we've seen with the secret projects, you would only need some understanding of Shardic lore and possibly Realmatic theory, though maybe #4 will require some extra knowledge as it's about a character we've seen before, we don't know which. The Shardic knowledge should be easy to get a without spoilers, especially if you were to post something in the Q&A forum.

Funny how everything I said is completely wrong So that everyone hopefully finds this out, none of the secret projects take place on Ashyn, no matter how much we want The Silence Divine, or any other planet in the same system as another canon story(or in a place outside of a star system at all, ie. Silverlight). Here is the WoB:

They are building or have built a spaceship that will travel to Yumi's world. -
Bolded and Underlined is the one word you missed, I believe.

We'll hopefully get Dragonsteel eventually, which will follow Hoid and probably deal a little with the other shards. I have no idea, I haven't read Dragonsteel Prime.

The first two seem to contradict themselves, but it appears I was right in assuming there would be spiritweb implications with the hema-mancy compounding(new word of my own coining), though Brandon is still vague about it. Also, the last WoB doesn't actually tell us about any strange effects the hema-chemy compounding would have, but I am excited that he RAFO'd the feru-hema-mancy compounding. Now for more speculation. This first part involves more general cosmere knowlege, so be warned of warbreaker spoilers below I won't speculate any more on the spiritweb disaster of burning a spike, but as for the triple combination, well: PS I figured out how to utilize spoilers, so now I will do so.

5/10 because I know nothing about that book, so I can't rate it poorly, but It's also not Brandon so I can't rate it well without more info. Have fun with mine- 1486 replies

This may already be answered in part or fully, but I'm still gonna post it. Part 1: Allomancy and Hemalurgy. What would happen if someone who could burn one of the metals took a spike of that metal, stabbed someone who had the power(s) that spike would steal, then swallowed it? Take for instance steel, which steals physical Allomantic powers, stabbed into a mistborn. My thoughts are that doing this would push on your spiritweb, causing small changes. Perhaps your coinshot abilities are stronger and you have small ability, though not noticeable, in the other three arts. Your children would also have increased likelihood of gaining the four powers, though not as much as someone who actually holds the spike in their body. Part 2: Feruchemy and Hemalurgy. What happens if a ferring uses a spike as a metalmind? Is this even possible? Perhaps the hemalurgic investiture blocks the storing of attributes. If not, I suspect the two would not interfere in the physical, although I think the attribute stored in the metalmind would get corrupted and using it would damage your spiritweb more. Part 3: All the metallic arts. I'm going to wait to do this until I get feedback on Parts 1 and 2.

What in particular was he not happy about? Brandon served a church mission in South Korea, and he says he feels a bond for the people there(yes, I know Japan is not Korea, but I think a lot of the terrible stuff they deal with from white people is the same regardless of where they came from) so I'd think that Brandon would not even consider putting in anything offensive. Also, I believe that Brandon would go back and get rid of anything that is derogatorily stereotypical, if it gets pointed out to him, he knows that kind of thing is bad.

A few of my own predictions for KoWT
Lego Mistborn replied to stonehand's topic in Stormlight Archive
Some of these are very likely, others, like the one about honor, seem very far fetched to me. I think it would be cool to see your reasoning though.
