  3. The shadows catch the sandwich you drop in midair because of the taco truck smell, and run in a rolling mass.
  4. Malsam's eyes widened when the creature spoke back, repeating the words in a horrible blending and twisting of her voice and it's own. This entity nothing like a Kandra or mistwraith. This was some sort of face-stealer, a changeling, a doppelganger. She could hardly blame the Willow woman from fleeing, as she seemed to know a great deal more of the creatures that may be in the house than the rest of them. However, she was surprised that Willow had taken Vivi, protecting others seemed a bit out of character. As the creature moved forward, she lashed out blindingly fast with her sword, then retreated closer to the main group.
  5. Yes, that will work perfectly.
  6. It was the morning after Balance had been carted home from Cassandra's Metalurgic Emporium. Demaren had spent most of the night fixing the security systems and keeping an eye on the two devices he was fabricating, sleeping on a small cot in his laboratory for a few hours in the depths of the night. He had managed to retrieve some footage of the intruder who stole the motivator from a small camera in the safe that had remained untouched, but it didn't tell him much. He glanced over at the humming machine that was weaving a jumpsuit. it was nearly completed, and then he would test it. It probably had thirty minutes left. There was a loud beeping sound, and he turned to the now still machine in the center of the room. Lying on its bed was a silvery leg, several joints and pistons clearly visible outside of the main body of the limb. He smiled for a moment, then frowned. Embedding the control panel might be a problem, he thought, especially since I can't do it to myself. There was a noise from the door, and a clumping sound as Balance's booted feet entered. "I see that you're up," Demaren commented, still pondering on the artificial limb. "You were out for about sixteen hours." Balance grunted. "Have you found the location of the Motivator?" he asked, the buzz in his voice very plain and giving it a mechanical sound. "The tracking system is nearly back on line, another hour and I should have the precise location," Demaren said as he turned towards Balance, who was still wearing the same set of smooth, loose clothes and his cloak. He froze as he noticed Balance's face. Nearly half of his face was now composed of the blue lines, even taking the eye from that side. "That's much worse than I thought it would be," he finally said after a moment. "How well can you see?" Balance snorted. "As well as ever, though the framesight will not fade now." Demaren studied Balance for a moment more, then shrugged. There wasn't anything he could do about it now, he thought fatalistically. "Well, I have to embed a device in my leg, and you get to help by watching to make sure nothing goes wrong. We will be able to finish it before the tracking system is done if we start now. He picked up the cybernetic leg from the machine in the center of the room, and made his way to a small room cut off from the rest of the building. "I'll do it in my cleanroom, come along." Balance followed wordlessly behind him.
  7. where are you going to have Mike hole up, and is he going to have the motivator with him, or is he going to stash it somewhere? I can work with either, but need the specifics.

  16. Balance shook his head. "Not that I know of. I.." he stopped suddenly as his eyes began to glow brilliantly. Faint lines like his wireframes streamed from his chest, pointing out of one of the shops. It maintained for a few seconds, then vanished, and he slumped forward. "Demaren," Balance said horsely. "Where is the other motivator?" Demaren paled. He slipped on a glove, made a few gestures, then paled further. "The safe I had it in was left open, and the only things missing are the motivator and the channeler I used to harness its power. Parts of the alarm system must have been destroyed by the deForgery in some way." Balance pushed himself to his feet. "We have to get it back. We cannot have it out, not with the destruction my powers can cause." he began to walk towards the door, but his eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed on the floor. Demaren sighed, leaning carefully back against the wall. "I'm sorry about this, Cassie. I had no clue this would happen. I'll call up some people to bring Balance back to my shop." He carefully extracted a Selphone from his pocket. "Is this Brutes and Brains? Excellent, I have an ... object I need to move from Cassandra's Metallurgic Emporium to Technotic's Shop. Alright, thank you." He put the Selphone away and turned to Cassie. "They will be here in a bit. If you need me, you know where to contact me." He smiled. "You are an excellent customer." Two large and brawny men entered the Emporium, and Demaren pointed at Balance's prone form. They shrugged, and picked him up easily. Demaren followed them out the door silently, moving smoothly in spite of his missing limb.

  18. Valence followed at a steady pace, keeping an eye on the woman who had joined them. He had heard her seeking to sell something, but he was not sure what specifically. As he jogged steadily to keep up with the guard, he settled his quiver and sheath more firmly, and as a precaution loosened his sword some in it's sheath.
