What do the Spiritual Metals do in Feruchemy?
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to Primeival Chaos's question in Cosmere Q&A
Pretty sure this is answered in the ars arcanum in the MB era 2 books, look at the Coppermind wiki for more information. Sorry I can't be more helpful, these powers confuse me some too, while at the same time seeming absurdly simple. -
Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
speaking of which, I think you can steal people's age w/ Hemalurgy. not sure if it would add it on to yours or replace yours, though. -
I said might, they could be the same. also, could be technological advancement.

Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I agree, Kelsier is not one of the worst people in the cosmere, but his actions and overall scheme have stayed consistent throughout various books, showing a lack of personal growth(not sure how possible that is for a Cognitive Shadow), and making him seem worse than he is. I also agree with you on the selflessness part, @elsoberanok. -

Aluminum sheaths and hemalurgy.
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That would make sense, as in the Allomancer Jak episode in Arcanum Unbounded he gets a bunch of really old koloss spikes from a deep pool that were in a solid aluminum box. -
Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Okay, I was just clarifying the stuff I remembered, it's been like 6 months since I read it, and didn't know anything about the WOB. I completely agree that Hemalurgy is evil, that is part of its essence and danger, especially if it gets to the rest of the cosmere -
There are several threads that are discussing this, try one of those.

Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This could be further developed into the morals of Hemalurgy, though I have to say that the set made it sound like they discovered a way to make a hemalurgic spike without killing someone in Bands of Mourning. Also, remember Spooks book on Hemalurgy, if we can determine when in his life after the remaking he wrote it, we can determine somewhat what experiments he did. -

Kelsier will NOT be a villain, Hoid will
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to KaladinWorldsinger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Each is a good guy in their own story, or at least not the worst person (hoid might have some image issues, I can see that). Kelsier strikes me as the type who is a little to arrogant for his own good, and with his interactions with the Cosmere, he's a little to arrogant for anyone's good. Hoid is an enigma wrapped in flannel wrapped in a question mark wrapped in instant noodles. I can't safely theorize more w/o more knowledge, though he always seems to act for his own purposes.. -

Fullborn vs 4th ideal radiant
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to bmcclure7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Even causing atomic bonds to disassemble can release massive amounts energy, probably on the level of a C4 explosion(18% more powerful than dynamite) multiplied by the number of bonds you're breaking- 302 replies

A Kandra's Worst Enemy; Soulcasters
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to Trusk'our's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Soulcasting is reliant on identity, right? so if someone has a stronger identity(i.e. taping identity) they're harder to soulcast. -

Relatively sure that "blank connection" is the result of someone storing identity and then connection.- 302 replies

Yea, I know, but I mean using this to go from one planet to another nearly instantaneously. -

(Theory) How FTL travel will work in the Cosmere
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to cpw2007's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thought on not just FTL, but on near-instantaneous teleportation: Spiritual realm has no distance, only connection. So if people could find an easy way to hop into it, (not via perpendicularity) They should be able to use the connection to travel from one place to another almost instantaneously, bypassing space altogether, similar to what cytonics do in the cytoverse with the nowhere. -
(Theory) How FTL travel will work in the Cosmere
EmulatonStromenkiin replied to cpw2007's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It probably partially depends on the view of the one creating the speed bubbles, just like spanreeds depend on the users considering themselves in the same frame of reference -
they could be consumed by the shade and merge the consciences.
