  1. Interesting! Sounds to be true, according to the WoB. The Svrakiss do sound a whole lot like Autonomy's "immortals" that Mr. Suit spoke of. I don't know if people seeing the Svrakiss as demons is due to them not being completely under Autonomy's thumb, I think it's more likely that such an opinion naturally evolved after such beings showed up a couple of times and people did what people will do; they formed ideas and half-baked stories about them which eventually integrated into their culture and beliefs. It may end up making Jaddeth's return more difficult if its human followers discover that Jaddeth's servants are demons though, which I could see making some people in Fjordell rejecting Autonomy's Avatar as Jaddeth. Good catch on the WoB by the way!
  2. Well, a single Breath does actually seem to contain a decent amount of Investiture. You could probably fill most Gemhearts with a single Breath, and the average Nalthian has more Investiture than the average Scadrien- most of which have somewhere between 20-30% the necessary Investiture to become an Allomancer. As a side note, this should also mean that the amount of Investiture you'd find in an Allomantic power would be only a few Breaths strong max in most cases (it may be more like one-Breath to one Allomancer's power, actually).
  3. Lol, I'm surprised it took this long before my rambling became incomprehensible Yup, you take a non-Invested Hemalurgically viable metal (duralumin in this case), you implant it- probably as a piercing- into your body at a Donor Bindpoint (assuming that the donor's Bindpoint matters for Connection). You don't choose to charge it immediately though, but you do later when something else tries to Connect to or possess you. Then you once it's charged, you don't have the spike give you anything from it since you don't have any Intent for that. Could be the case. We need some more examples of Hemalurgy to go off to tell for certain though. Yeah, that could definitely be a problem with Odium (Voidspren trying to possess you would certainly have a bad day though ). I wonder if Josh happened to be a Bloodmaker (or Radiant, more likely) if he could heal the hole made in his Spiritweb, but not grow back the Connection (this is rather doubtful, I'll admit)?
  4. Now, that would be pretty powerful. And unfortunately, simply for that reason, I don't think that it would work. At least, I don't think that it would be better than Bendalloy Compounding. It could be that the 5th Heightening allows someone to subsist entirely on their Breath rather than on food and drink, but even if that is the case I don't think that a 5th Heightening Awakener would be immune to dehydration when using Aethers or Sandmastery; they'd get a stream of Investiture from their Breaths that would keep them from being dehydrated, but if they used that water to fuel their other Invested Arts they'd have an upper limit to the amount of water they could use from their Breaths at any given time. So Heightenings may be useful in those situations, but even if it does work you wouldn't be able to use an unlimited amount of water.
  5. Intent is very important to Hemalurgy. You could pierce the right person with the right metal in the right place- but not end up with a Hemalurgic charge because you didn't have the intention of charging the metal. I'm wondering now if this could somehow be used to a Hemalurgist's advantage to protect them from harmful, spiritual intrusions. If a Hemalurgist took a metal (without a Hemalurgic charge) then pierced themselves with it in the right Bindpoint, could they at some later date choose to excise a part of their Spiritweb in the spike? For instance, let's say there's a guy named Josh living on Roshar, fighting in the war against Odium. Odium decides to Connect to Josh, similar to how he's Connecting to Dalinar in an attempt to slowly corrupt and weaken him. Josh knows that this Connection exists, but he deliberately removes it and stores it in the duralumin (another situation where this might be useful is when Kelsier was Connected to Ruin; he could have removed those Connections, then removed the spike, thus ending his Connection to Ruin and subsequent interference with wielding Preservation). A further question here is; does the Intent matter as well as the Bindpoint for Josh's newly charged spike- at least, whether it is "active" or not? To explain better, could the spike be placed in the correct Bindpoint to allow for Josh to use the contents of the spike, but if Josh didn't have the Intent to use or those contents, would they just stay in the spike? Or would the Connection just re-rout itself and automatically hotwire to this Spiritweb, regardless of his desires? Other ideas for the use of this include; excising a Shade's corruption from yourself, tearing out a chunk of Spiritweb from a Voidspren that tries to possess you (such as with Sadeas's men at the battle of Theynena), or removing a Bondsmith's ties to you (such as when the Windrunners and Dalinar were attacked by Ishar). So, does this seem plausible, or am I going off the deep end again guys?
  6. SA spoilers: Basically, yes Yeah, I could see that happening; I've gone onto long threads before, but have been hesitant to join because I felt I'd be intruding or be bringing back up a dead part of a conversation. This actually happened with me on @Frustration's thread on the Who would win, the Ultimate Cosmere free for all thread in the ToES and TLM spoiler forum. I eventually did end up posting my thoughts regarding the 1st page on the 8th page of the thread, and it turned out great! So if anybody who reads this wants to post some ideas on some older parts of this thread and the Twinborn combos, go ahead! We'd be more than happy to hear them
  7. Yeah, since F-steel increases the speed of burning for your metals it's basically a more controlled version of A-duralumin and you get superspeed. As a side note, I really love this thread. Some of the Twinborn combos have really let me take a new look at Allomancy, Feruchemy, and Resonances (particularly the A-pewter/F-steel and A-aluminum/F-gold Twinborn combos). Thanks for starting this thread @Koloss17
  8. Stick is Adonalsium, slumbering until it someday reclaims its full might and glory.
  9. Those are some good ideas. I like them I don't think that there usually is a lot of lingering damage after you remove a Hemalurgic spike though, at least, not more than what a Spiritweb would normally have (i.e., you might be "cracked" a bit, but things like Ruin and Allomancers still can't get inside you), so I don't know if it would be necessary to have the Twinborn Resonance for that part. I apologize. I meant to say that you either needed to burn aluminum or tap gold to remove a Shade's effects- I had falsely assumed that you were saying that the Twinborn would be straight up immune to Shades because of their Resonance without any other use of Investiture (that's what I get for jumping around with assumptions ). If I'm correct, the questioner did ask whether Wayne would be able to take some damage, than store health and heal it later, to which Brandon said would be possible. It could be that Wayne just has a unique perspective on permanent injuries due to his nature of being a Bloodmaker and thus is able to use his F-gold to heal even old wounds. Or Brandon just was answering the first question and missed the second, which is totally possible.
  10. I don't know that doing so would work. Feruchemical and Allomantic Investiture is specifically Keyed to certain effects, and while Brass Feruchemy is very similar to a heating Fabrial, the difference may make it not work. I could be wrong though, so maybe it could be made to function.
  11. That could be interesting. I wonder what the people watching from the ground would think
  12. Embertounge does have a nice ring to it and feels thematically appropriate. Hmm. I would think that the Resonance between A-aluminum and F-gold may allow for the Twinborn to better alter their spiritual ideal to match what they think it should be. They'd still need to tap health from their Goldminds to achieve the desired end result, but I think that healing from Shades or similar infectious forms of Investiture would become more efficient. It also may be possible that the Twinborn's Spiritweb is naturally more resistant to invasive forms of Investiture, which could help someone resist Emotional Allomancy, or maybe even reduce their weakness to bearing too many Hemalurgic spikes (though it wouldn't be erased). There probably would be more possible to achieve with the Resonance, but I don't know all the possibilities. Could you clarify what you mean when talking about Hemalurgic spikes? I agree that the weakness to external sources of Investiture by bearing four or more may be lessened, but I don't know if that's what you mean. As for Shades, I think you'd still need to tap F-gold, though the process would likely be easier due to the Twinborn's Resonance. Recovering from old wounds may be easier to do, but Wayne himself could do so without this hypothetical Resonance, so I don't know that this particular aspect would be too useful.
  13. We know that Sand Mastery can be used to make "springs", which can cushion your fall. ToES spoilers- An Allomantic pewter/Feruchemical steel Twinborn could burn their metals faster when they tap more speed. Tap enough and they could potentially even fall at their terminal velocity and walk away unscathed. Kandra could potentially spit their bones out of all together as they fall and shield them with the softer parts of their body. The soft parts of their bodies heal and their bones walk away unscathed after they reassemble themselves.
  14. Yeah, just like when a Sandmaster uses White Sand. Me too!
  15. Stick is also secretly all of the Heralds, holding all Surges.
  16. Perhaps. I'd be hesitant to read too much into what the mechanics of Spores are right now- we don't know if they are actually like Invested healing yet or not, though I suspect they don't really "heal", it's more like a general growth. Interesting idea though
  17. I agree with this. I don't think that Emotional Allomancy is strictly limited to augmenting or smothering emotions that already existed in the target. A Soother or Rioter who has an idea of what their target is feeling will be better able to judge how strongly to push or pull on their emotions, however.
  18. I'm curious to know as well my friend. How exactly does one go about getting "a winning of the day"?
  19. Maybe you could use F-bonze to fall asleep initially, then stop storing/have someone take away the Bronzemind after you fall asleep? Or perhaps you just tap some of the Bronzemind after you wake up.
  20. That would probably be a useful ability to have, especially for E.R. technicians it to keep someone having a heart attack, stroke, or any sort of ischemia alive. Hospitals could have large Unkeyed Goldminds to help people recover more quickly and fully from their injures. I imagine that "health-drives" could be used to fuel them, at least until other sources of Investiture become readily available. Definitely would be cool to see them used in conjunction to help those with sleep disorders and security. "Yeah, we don't pay by the Bubble." I could see that becoming a new slang term in the later eras Bet if they added some determination in there it would be of great benefit. Plus, you could probably drop the bronze and F-bendalloy, since those don't have to be tapped constantly, just regularly (since medallions with more powers are harder to come by).
  21. The Southern airships use Feruchemical iron to reduce their weight, so we know that there is at least that option available.
  22. But... I did mention that. Also, in order to make that happen, steel Compounding would need to take place, which could become game breaking very quickly- what's to stop people from using Compounded F-steel in combat all the time once that happens? Not saying that F-steel wouldn't work for trains, but I feel that it would make more potential holes in the plot if such ability became commonplace. Edit: Actually, I think since Primer Cubes use Harmonium to fuel the powers they use Compounding wouldn't be necessary. So, if that could be extended to F-steel, then Steeltrains could be used instead of Bendalloy/Cadmium trains. I see no reason why this wouldn't work. Might be costly due to Harmonium though (unless they ever figure out how to distil and harness the Mists for fuel). Yeah, as you and @a Faceless Immortal mentioned, security could be a problem. Perhaps they could study and experiment with Identity encryption, making some information accessible to everyone, while some information would only be accessible to those with the decryption devices. As for a Coppermind virus? That would be cool. For example, if almost everyone started using the CopperWeb, a lot of Investiture could start congregating in one place which could start taking on a life of its own. It could be discovered by people that this living Investiture starts doing things on its own, making its own memories that people start to pick up on accident (the memories the people try to take get corrupted by the Invested being), or perhaps it starts meddling with machines connected to the CopperWeb. It could either become a villain, being an evil AI/Spren sort of thing made out of the combined memories of the people of Scadrial, or perhaps it would just be another character in the story (or maybe the managers of the CopperWeb just invent a way to keep it from gaining sentience). Either way, the CopperWeb could lead to some epic worldbuilding in my opinion. I love this idea now. I really hope Sanderson thinks of it and decides to use something like it. Being able to copy information would definitely make accessing the same memory for multiple people at once easier. Perhaps copper Compounding could help (if that's even what it does, though I suspect it is). Also, being able to tell something was an actual memory and not a fabrication would be very useful. Oh yeah, I'm excited to see what happens with it. Honestly, I'm really excited just to see what happens with era 3.
  23. Perception likely plays a role. Especially since Adolin treating her more like a person than a weapon or a dead thing sets Connections between him and her. I'm not sure about Spren's own perception, actually. Though, we do see that emotion Spren are attracted to Radiant Spren (shock Spren crowded Notum after he was attacked by the Tukari in RoW), so they have an effect on the Cognitive Realm. As such, perhaps their perception does effect other Spren, and therefore Deadeyes by extension.
  24. Yeah, basically. Just may be easier to harvest.
  25. I know, right? Honestly, this is currently my favorite Twinborn combo; it's just so powerful. Well, because the A-pewter/F-steel Twinborn could increase their strength so much, they could probably do grasshopper-like jumps (like Vin was mentioned to be able to do in WoA, but better). Not as useful in most cases as A-steel, but could still be very useful for mobility. Also, if you're falling a great distance (such as from one of your jumps) you could enhance your strength briefly to absorb the shock of landing.
