  1. No, Discord is not Trell. Discord is Harmony is Sazed didn't balance the powers. Discord is not a separate being, it is what Sazed can be if he can't control the powers. Questioner Last time you said that his name if it wasn’t Harmony, it would be something else. Is it Discord? Brandon Sanderson This is relevant. Questioner It is relevant? Brandon Sanderson Yes.
  2. Tin does not store certain feelings, they store the strength of the senses. So no, you can't technically store pain, but your pain receptors will be numb when being stored and increased when being tapped, making you increasingly vulnerable and sensitive to pain.
  3. Oddly concerned? I don't know what you're talking about. But no, the reason I ask is I know a sweet that has a thin metal layer of I think silver that is edible, so I just got curious on your thought process and if it related to that.
  4. You thought you wouldn't be able to taste the wrapper?
  5. I agree, having less plot armor is better. It makes you engaged in the story and makes you constantly on edge about what happens. It's difficult, but it's the goal of every writer to eliminate plot armor as much as possible. Hate to sound like a broken record, but I disagree. Being wasteful isn't what makes them good. What makes them good is that they make the characters (And you) face loss, raising the stakes because death to the character is the universal way to create tension in stories. The character's death needs to invoke change in other characters i some way, and if not then change the plot in some way, and you have to make sure that change is going in a good direction (Good in a narrative sense, not good for the character's). A wasteful death is a bad death. By wasteful, I think you mean it cuts someone's narrative arc off, but to cut someone's arc off, it has to either be to forwarding the plot or forwarding someone else's arc. Every death must have some purpose, even if it's just to have the bad guy get them out of the way so they don't bother them, therefore forwarding the plot and the bad guy's plan. If a death has no point, don't do it, wait, there will be a better opportunity. (If any death or survival of death is contrived, I'm against it, btw. I am never advocating to let a character survive a situation they should definitely be dead from. That's crem dung and everyone should avoid it.)
  6. Yeah, I'm including that in my statement. His mind control can be useful against normal people, but anyone with a strong will like a fused could probably resist it, and even then only a small portion is revealed, not the whole blade, and he doesn't seem to be as powerful then. With someone, he is the supreme god of the cosmere. Without them tho, he's going to have a hard time.
  7. How old were you to not know you need to remove wrappers from the chocolate?
  8. Well, I'm going to ask. What in the world made you eat a Hershey with its wrapper? That's a waste of a good Hershey!
  9. You're assuming he can get himself out of his sheet for even five seconds to use his power.
  10. ... WHAT?! Dude, no, nonononononnonononono. Not every death is worth it. For god's sake, watch GoT S8 to see what I mean. Not every death is worth it, as it narratively cuts off their arc, it can seem meaningless, and can take away from other characters who are close to them. Not every death is worth it at that moment. It can disrupt the entire story. I can see the appeal of a story where you may have a main character die at any time, both those often have plenty of main characters to kill, are incredibly large, and have plenty of side characters to either grow into main characters or help build up certain relationships. It does not work in these contexts, and deaths are not always worth it. yes, stakes are raised in turn, but it also can cut one's sense of disbelief and the smoothness of the narrative.
  11. Intriguing. I don't remember them having to eat or drink to survive, nor do I remember Lightsong every mentioning how they have to poop. I wonder why?
  12. XD You and everyone else dude, but let's face it, we can't compete with Susebron. But also, Am I the only one that isn't fawning over Lightsong? He was fine, I liked him, but I feel like EVERYONE just wishes they were in his bed.
  13. Vin's character is heavily tied to her relationship with Elend. Killing him then may not be the best move and may take away from the story. You have to think about whether or not killing a character will improve the story. And again, there are only two to three main characters in a book! Killing even one of them properly is difficult because even you can do it satisfyingly, you have to think about the other characters and future plot, and you may decide that it's just not worth it.
  14. Again, Clubs, Dockson, Twidnyl. You're asking him to kill the very main character, the one everything centers on, before the end. That doesn't work. You seem to have some very high expectations on that. He killed Elkolar. What do you want him to do, kill Daliner before he progresses as a character? He can't just kill a character without thinking about their narrative arc. The death has to go somewhere, and some deaths just aren't worth doing in the middle.
  15. You're moving the goalpost. You said characters that should have died, and so what it's at the end? Lots of major character deaths happen at the end. This isn't TLJ.
  16. No, she's not, I don't get why people hate her so much. And excuse me, a track record for not killing characters. You mean like Yes, he has two examples of not letting a character die, but that's not a trend.
  17. Shallan is somewhat naive, but wonderful, okay?
  18. But what happens if he decides Daliner turns evil?
  19. NO! Nonononononono! Don't even say that. No, it does not and you should feel ashamed you cancerous ham. Characters I don't think will die are Daliner, as he is probably going to ascend, Navani, as she can help progress technology, Jasnah, as her character can still be used, Shallan, cuz I don't see how that would complete her arc, and Lift, cuz BS likes her too much Szeth, maybe though I feel death while satisfying isn't where he's going, and Kaladin, which is much more likely.
  20. Works beautifully, though that may get in the way of his oath to Daliner. Does he still need to uphold that oath when swearing the fifth Ideal?
  21. Could be due to some interference hat prevents them from access Fortune properly, something acting almost like aluminum and messing the species. Also, yeah, we did. People are going to look at our conversation and be like "What the storm is wrong with these two? How did they get here? Chill the hell out."
  22. Okay, I agree with that, but a natural property might not be able to be accessed or accessed to a different effect, which is why you need a Feruchemist or Hoid to manipulate it to actually do something. Not sure how having less fortune than normal works, but I'm sure BS will eventually get into that in Era 3 or 4 of Mistborn. Also, I have completely forgotten how this conversation/argument/discussion started/related to my theory, funnily enough. This topic really draws you in.
  23. No, Fortune taps into the spiritual realm, and getting more fortune simply means you draw more power, and haveing less fortune means your drawing less of that power.
  24. Okay, yes thank you, I was wanting that quote. You are correct, it involves spirit webs. Fortunately for my theory, it isn't a part of the spirit web so still has some degree of separation to have different properties than Connection.
