“Yeah.” Jahora whispered after a drawn out moment of silence. “Rose, can you tell me about the grudge you hold against your family?” Hopefully changing up his question would make Rose more inclined to answer. He had been reluctant to let loose about his brother’s death but hoped that bit of intel would prove to Rose that he trusted her, therefore she could afford to spare some trust for him, hopefully.

“Selene kill my brother.”

“I’m not going to go away.” “Maybe I don’t. But your still going to have to tell me about it.”

“Probably wise. Although I doubt getting her to open up to us will be easy, I ended up pinned to floor last time I tried.” He grimaced. ”I think I should go upastairs to check in on her, I wouldn’t want my bounty hunter trying to harm herself or anything like that. Plus, I left my hat slip there and need to retrieve it before we leave.” Jahora stopped in the doorway as he walked out of the room and called back “Be ready to leave when I come back down.” Jabora tapped softly on his door then entered his room. He grabbed Tydel’s hat from its place on the desk then sat at the end of the bed. “I think it’s time you let go of some of your pain” he said. “keeping it bottled up inside isn’t helping you. I’m worried that the pressure inside your bottle is still building; I’m worried that if you don’t release it, then sooner or later, it will...” His voice turned into a hoarse whisper “I’m worried it will explode.” He finished, then he squeezed his eyes right and swallowed audibly as he braved himself for Rose’s reaction.

"Did you sleep at all last night? We've kinda got a long day ahead. We'll start by getting you guys a change of clothes and other supplies, then we'll go to the house that Selene and I lived in together as planned." He turned towards Kieran "Did you find any of that charcoal?" he asked.

"We're all in this together." He called out to Kess in the kitchen, "There's a tray of food in here if you're hungry."

I didn't want to become bad, so I learnt how to be nice." technically that was incorrect, Jahora had learnt to be a drunken wreck until Selene had taught him to be nice. She also taught him that there is a distinct difference between a nice person and a person who does nice things. His gaze shifted towards Kieran as he wondered whether that particular thought had penetrated through the avalanche of thoughts pressing down on the kid.

"Because I like you, and I think you deserve help. No one deserves to be alone if they've gone through as much as you have."

Jahora slowly picked himself off the ground. "You don't have to blame yourself, you didn't hurt me. It's my fault, I said something dumb, you were right to be mad at me." He handed Rose his handkerchief "It's not your fault" he repeated. "How about we calm down." He said conscious of Kieran struggling with the jumble of conflicted thoughts emanating from him and Rose.

Silk grinned "See, you understood that joke; you're doing well. Except you sort of extract from its enjoyment by pointing out the trick, but that's okay I'm sure we'll have plenty more opportunities to practice keeping a joke within the bounds of it's designated audience."

Twiget giggled in delight and nuzzled the dragon affectionately.

Jahora lay on the ground beneath Rose and raised his hands above his head where she could see them "You know enough about me to know that you don't have to be afraid. I honestly don't know much about you. I sought you out because your new to the bounty business. I couldn't ask my usual hunters to go kill Selene because she and I were a well-known duo throughout these slums. I would of lost alot of face if it got out that I wanted to kill Selene. That is why I sought you out." He spoke gently, trying not to make his fear audible. Unpredictable, unstable Rose was in a position to seriously hurt him, maybe even kill him if she felt like it, he was terrified. He twisted his head awkwardly to look at Kieran and noticed that he was slumped against the wall probably too many thoughts going around for him to cope. He turned back to Rose "Kieran's right, you have to trust us. I'm sorry I asked about the asylum, that was dumb of me. You're right, I don't deserve to hear about it." he slowly raised his hands to tap Rose's hands that were pressing down on him. "Are you ready to get off me?" He asked.

"Oh, I've had enough experience to refine my humor, there is no one better suited to my humor apart from me. Sure, others can enjoy it, but that isn't a necessary part of the process unless your name is Kelsier or that blonde kid; he looks like the type of kid who'd riot if he was left out of a joke." He nodded to the Harry and Draco "My name is Silk, it's been a pleasure to meet you both."

Jahora's heart sank a little, they were different. And that information could potentially crush Rose. "I can move metal, manipulate magnets. I wouldn't of been able to move the notebook like you did. I attracted the window latch to its anchor." He took a deep breath, hoping that Rose still trusted him "You've destroyed rooms...is that related to the" he gulped audibly "to the asylum you mentioned last night?" He looked away, embarrassed at bringing up a topic that was largely kept taboo.
