  3. I think many of the Shards would disagree on themselves being false gods. Again, you're all trying to frame it from a Christian point of view but the Cosmere isn't Christian. And the topic is not about the nature of god.
  4. I don't think this topic is about irl religions and definitions of god or God or whatever. The people in-book worship the Shards as their Gods and that's that. My vote goes to Leras / Preservation. Even after everything he was still kind enough to offer some comfort to the recently deceased. He was aware of how his own mind was being warped by the power he held and planned for it. He sacrificed himself for his people. Honor... I'm really suspicious of. There's the switcheroo with the humans and singers, plus the torture of his Heralds. Feels like he might've used people as pawns "for the greater good" of containing Odium. Cultivation is on the suspicion list for the same reasons. Odium and Ruin aren't considerations for best god. Endowment... hmm... Her magic system is of questionable morality. And her system of Returning people seems more cruel than kind. Autonomy's Avatars don't seem all that great. The Sand Lord initiated a massacre. Patji commits massacres for breakfast. Other Shards we know too little about.
  5. I think Aon Eto is far more likely to be a healing or physical enhancement Aon than something to create a flesh & blood simulacra. It might be possible though, and would probably require a lot of modifiers (we don't really know how Aon modifications work). As for moving consciousness, maybe Aon Rao, though it is possible that Aon actually represents Investiture in general rather than "essence" and "spirit".
  6. I doubt Lirin had any sort of plan. He wanted his son to become a surgeon, and was too stubborn to leave Hearthstone. And Hesina chose to support his decisions.
  7. Oh wow, these are great @An Inkspren! I especially like the blinking Kal one!
  8. It's only a problem if two people share the same username, so no need. Welcome to the Shard!
  9. Technically speaking Mistborn have more powers, but Radiants of certain Orders have... more power, imo. So depends on which Order's powers I get: Lightweaver or Elsecaller, hell yes! Windrunner or Stoneward? No thanks! (sorry, Kal! Sorry, Taln!)
  10. We do have a WoB on the Oathpact being between Honor and the Heralds
  11. Two WoBs regarding the no. of Ascendants: Nothing more definitive, I don't think, but they do seem to indicate prev Ascendant(s) before Rashek. As for the origins of Feruchemy that's the only thing we have on it, afaik
  12. That makes a lot of sense. We guessed the generalities from Bondsmith abilities, Honor himself restricting them somewhat and Rayse's personality but nothing as concrete. Also, the Envoyform obviously requiring Spiritual Connection totally slipped my sight! Good work!
  13. Same Welcome to the Shard!
  14. Dammit Granted, in exchange for worse water quality. Next time you turn on your faucet, a cat crawls out of it, proving once and for all that cats are liquid. I wish for the red coat from A Darker Shade of Magic
  15. Yes but those donuts were originally supposed to be sent to Katakuri and he's not happy about you having his donuts. And you, you are not Luffy. So, tough luck when Katakuri finds you munching on his donuts. I wish for... oh! I wish for a Devil Fruit!
  16. Heya there, welcome to the Shard! So, what are your favourites? Characters, magic systems, moments
  17. Ah, this is old but I feel like I should help clarify... Kar didn't really mean that you're splitting hairs, he meant that classifications are fundamentally at least somewhat arbitrary. Cosmere magics aren't distinct things, they're just natural phenomena, "magic systems" are just how parts of these phenomena that interact with humanity are termed in-book by the author and by the readers. So one could make an argument both for whether or not fabrial science is mechanical Surgebinding or a separate magic system. One could also give separate classifications to other spren bonds (like between megafauna like the Tai Na and the spren that allow them to break the square cube law) than the Nahel Bonds of Surgebinders / Knights Radiant.
  18. Happy B'day, @Elegy!
