It's far more likely that the Unmade were simply powerful spren. We know Roshar had spren before Odium, Honor or Cultivation's arrival. They were created alongside the world by Adonalsium. Odium probably just Corrupted them. There is an idea that like the Heralds, the Unmade might've been from Ashyn originally but Ba-Ado-Mishram seems to have been an important spren of Roshar, so it seems more likely that the others are as well. Unmade having been people... or pieces of people isn't impossible but we've been told that there's no one to one correlation between the Unmade and the Orders, which there probably would've been if they were originally Cognitive pieces of the Heralds. Why would Odium transform them to the Unmade, that's a not insignificant expenditure of Investiture? He might've taken pieces off the Heralds if he was given the chance to but why bother turning those pieces into powerful spren? And if he didn't turn them into powerful spren then how would they have become so?

Oh, it's from Love, Simon ? I like that book, but it's not the best 8/10

Brandon has confirmed it wasn't Hoid who made the switch He's also confirmed multiple times that Hoid does not have the blade. As for Szeth's Oathstone, the idea is interesting! https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?query=Oathstone We do seem to have an older WoB where Brandon confirms that the Oathstone has no magical properties, but it has been RAFO'd since. Might've been something Brandon changed his mind on. That WoB is also without a direct source. but previous Bondsmiths couldn't use Connections, would the Shin have known how to? It also shakes the largest part of Szeth's characterization a bit: his fidelity to a personal code, which is what caught Nale's eye. As for the Shin not coming to recollect the Honorblade, given Ishar's comments in RoW, they're busy with something else in their homeland. Possibly an Unmade. Why they even gave a Truthless an Honorblade is not known. We don't know enough about the Shin.

Oh! You think Odium might've repurposed her to create the Everstorm! That seems very possible. Odium does not like to create Splinters of himself, preferring to adapt existing spren to his purposes, so it would make sense for him to do this. Although... the Everstorm was an attempt to circumvent the Oathpact, the Unmade, as Odium's strongest servants be the last ones to be able to reach Roshar (assuming they were on Braize, which we know is definitely not always the case). If Chemoarish was already on Roshar, that might've been enough of a Connection for him to manipulate? Interesting idea
