  2. Their names are a bit complicated magi-socio-politically Parshendi is the exonym, given to the Listeners living on the Shattered Plains by the Alethi The Listeners themselves are a subgroup which diverged from the Singers long ago (see WoR, Eshonai's mother's songs, or Rlain in OB differentiating between his people, the Listeners, and the wider Singers) The Listeners were a group, previously called the Last Legion that fled from the Fused by giving up their Forms of Power and taking on Dullform (which protected them during the False Desolation when Melishi imprisoned the Unmade Ba-Ado-Mishram and accidentally transformed the Singers into what modern Rosharans call the Parshmen (and the Listeners call the Slaveform)) The Singers is a term that refers to their species which was used during the time when they were a part of Odium's forces. The Listeners prefer to call themselves, well, the listeners rather than singers. This is also probably where the term Dawnsingers came from.
  3. It's an amazing series, @FantasyFanatic, you'll love it too!
  4. *extends foot right in front of Emi to make her stumble*
  5. *now sneaking out with a win and a screaming plate of salad*
  6. We haven't really had any new sources of info regarding this topic since Invo posted it. In fact, we haven't had any new Cosmere releases since then. Instead of creating a new topic, if someone wants to post new info on an old topic that isn't based on outdated info or been explained/expanded upon since then, should be fine I think. If @Invocation, who's the OP here, doesn't mind either, of course. Chaos has said something similar on previous necro complaints which were starting to make some members feel unwelcome: @Channelknight Fadran, I hope you didn't take Weltall's words too harshly, he's just trying to follow the rules. Anyway, we can just wait for the mods' verdict on this, I guess
  7. *sneaks in* *grabs a win* *sneaks out*
  8. That is how Brandon intends to go about it. Stormlight probably will have multiple novellas by then. Maybe Isaac's Nazh story could also be there under Threnody.
  9. Though I don't know you, this makes me happy, if you don't mind me saying
  10. It seems that it is (or rather, was, due to Odium's forces) indeed accessible to spren and Worldhoppers. The spren probably have Mandra driven ships like we saw, some of the Worldhoppers might have their own means as well, given that they usually have access to some form of Investiture arts. I think that the Perpendicularity sits far underground at the base of the lakes (or Oceans, as the Unkalaki call them) at the peaks. This would mean the lakes should manifest on Shadesmar as dry land surrounded by an ocean of beads. Unless the mountains also manifest in Shadesmar in some manner. On Scadrial, the land was reflected as liquid mist but on Roshar land manifests as beads, would the beads form the mountains? Hmm...
  11. Hmm? I'm not great at math but what relation do the Cryptics have in their appearance to Fibonacci sequence?
  12. Next batch of 3: Honor, Cultivation and Odium?
  13. Karger is correct, Pattern talks to Shallan and is given his nickname after Jasnah's assassination and the sinking of the ship, while she was on her way to the Shattered Plains. She was with the caravan during this and Pattern was talking about the nature of spren.
  14. Your username matches up Welcome to the Shard! What were the first Cosmere connections that you made?
  15. Welcome to the Shard! Warbreaker is a bit difficult to get into compared to his other books but it's good. Have you read the short stories and novellas by Sanderson?
  16. Why, of course. Also here's your The Last Post Wins award:
  17. Here's more flattery then
  18. Granted, you will always have nice dreams as you will never waken. I wish to have a good day tomorrow
  19. *slaps forehead* I meant to quote you
  20. Did you mean runner-up?
  21. They are pretty awesome Which book's your favourite so far?
  22. Splinters are basically chunks of a Shard's Investiture. When Odium Splinters a Shard, he does it so that it would be very difficult for someone to become the next Vessel of the Shard with its power so diffuse Ruin killed Leras, Preservation's Vessel in a long and confusing manner. (Preservation sacrificed his Cognitive aspect to build the Well of Ascension, so the Vessel was more like a Cognitive Shadow or something) Shards often do Splinter off parts of their power, like Honor & Cultivation did with their spren and Endowment does with the Returned

    Sja-anat

Ancient Radiants did not believe she could corrupt highspren (referring to either sapient spren or Nahel Bond capable spren) at all, yet she clearly can. She shouldn't be capable of Corrupting Bonded spren, as that would've been a huge advantage for Odium to do nothing with. I would say there should be ways to change Corrupted spren back but they wouldn't just naturally turn back to their previous form, she's probably affecting their Identity somehow
  24. Ene, when were you unmade?
