The Ghostbloods Are Harvesting Radiant Spren(moved)
Honorless replied to Karger's topic in Stormlight Archive
I took it as a given. Mraize's collection all but confirmed they're on Roshar for war profiteering. Sja-Anat would be a valuable addition to their collection or an ally as she wants to defect, but she also Corrupts spren with Odium's Investiture basically makes her a very valuable commodity -
Why Hoid declined a shard/can a shard get more shards?
Honorless replied to Wind's question in Cosmere Q&A
You can pick up another Shard while holding one, you don't need to drop it and pick up both of them. We can infer this from what Brandon said regarding Odium not picking up the Shards he Splintered. He chooses not to. -
Couldn't Hoid have known through Fortune?

Could Miles or Hoid survive Sel's CR Storms ?
Honorless replied to Friendshipspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yes, they are https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?query=metalmind%2Bnightblood But I doubt that they are Invested enough to survive two Shards manifesting their power as a plasma storm -
How Invested are Yolish Dragons?
Honorless replied to Honorless's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
Because of the timing of that reaction. The metal can be both natural and have use in Investiture arts. This is a Dragon we're talking about and what looks potentially like a godmetal. -
I'm not arguing about their importance, rather the roles being assigned to them. The Taravangian part is even more of a wild shot, in my opinion. Dalinar could've gone either way and it could've worked for Cultivation.

How Invested are Yolish Dragons?
Honorless replied to Honorless's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
The passage really isn't written that way. If you want a mundane interpretation of it, how about Frost had cried metallic tears upon learning of Ati & Leras' death. Though then the question would arise, how did he know? He's been sitting in Yolen all this time. Also, he didn't just know, he was "watching", which Hoid inferred from his eyes' metallic tinge -
How Invested are Yolish Dragons?
Honorless replied to Honorless's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
The part in question: "leaning in closely", "studying the man's eyes", having a reaction specifically to the silvery substance. Assuming Frost didn't know at first, then immediately realizing that he did in reaction to the substance -
Could Miles or Hoid survive Sel's CR Storms ?
Honorless replied to Friendshipspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The Dor is the power of two Shards so I'm going to say no. Hoid would probably have a better chance to survive a near brush with the Investiture plasma storm but Miles' metal would be eradicated with him, I think -

How Invested are Yolish Dragons?

It could've been! It also naturally pooled in the Shattered Plains (which got cannibalized for The Stormlight Archive). These WoBs make me think there's some merit to the idea: I know some people that aluminium might be Adonalsium's Godmetal but I don't think so. I think all Godmetals would be mythical substances, by which I mean that they won't be real world substances We've already seen one Godmetal capable of that (Atium) so maybe Also links to the sources: https://www.17thshard.com/news/brandon-news/the-traveler-r393/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-25-bridge-four-1/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-28-bridge-four-2/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-30-bridge-four-3/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-31-bridge-four-4/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-33-bridge-four-5/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-35-bridge-four-6/ https://www.brandonsanderson.com/dragonsteel-prime-chapter-37-bridge-four-7/ -
Finally leaping the lurker chasm... Hello :)
Honorless replied to Dalinar'sCroissant's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Sorry, didn't find anything on the extended dialogue but you should get vol 3, there's an extra scene there that wasn't in the prose Hey, can I interest you in voting for your favourite characters? -

Just go here: https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/60219-aether-of-night-manuscript-requests/ and say that you want a copy Hmm, I talk about it in a Aether of Night spoilerific thread. Lemme go see if there's somewhere else I've talked about it because I don't remember seeing this mentioned by anyone else Update: looks like this got overshadowed by the extra scene in the GN (don't visit the subforum if you don't want to get spoiled!) -

Well said, I consider Part 3 of the GN better than its prose counterpart for this conversation Oh hey, does that mean you've read/are reading the Aether of Night? -
Circulating the Shards? What's to guarantee that someone wouldn't just keep theirs? Also we don't know enough of Shard-Vessel mechanics yet

Who's your least favourite character, @Dalinar'sCroissant? -
She is but makes a lot hinge on very little. I mean thematically it's quite appropriate that an Edgedancer might end up resolving or being the key to resolving the Recreance but that might already be happening with Adolin and Maya, an Edgedancer spren Also, this is something that could also have been more thematically appropriately solved by a Bondsmith, Nightwatcher's Bondsmith in particular with more gravitas, perhaps a high cost Boon and Bane or simply through her closeness with Cultivation (and Honor) This seems... contrived, both plot-wise with how badly it could go wrong & narratively. I do believe that Lift's Boon/Bane would be pivotal going forwards but I don't think it's for this As for Taravangian, he seems like a stress test and a plant

@Frustration, spoiler that, it's the Mistborn forum. Plus, Scadrial seemed to have been pretty Cosmere aware in its pre-history too when Preservation was around, as he thought people would remember the importance of the number sixteen Let's not derail Kar's thread, post on my profile or DM me if you wanna talk more on this

Could be but all other astronomical objects in the other systems follow the local naming convention so it's also possible that they were named by the locals. Astronomy is an ancient science on Earth too
-
I remember reading in an annotation that astronomy was one of the few sciences that the Lord Ruler didn't ban. Though it was difficult with the Mists, meaning only really wealthy Nobles indulged in it. I'd really like more info on Classical Scadrial, we really only have Sazed, Tindwyl, Alendi & Qwaan giving us tidbits here & there *sigh* But yeah, not related to terraforming, just the Scadrian System
