  1. Due to Ruin's Intent, I don't imagine his magic system would give much help in containing leaky Investiture, it would remain leaky, I imagine
  2. Their Investiture would automatically get aligned with the native Shard that they have the most Connection to. Typically Preservation for Scadrians before the Catacendre, and Harmony afterwards. Honor and Cultivation for most humans and Listeners respectively. Autonomy for Daysiders and Darksiders of Taldain and also probably for the people from minor Shardworlds with her Avatars. Endowment for Nalthians and so on.
  3. Yes to everything, but it wouldn't be a one-and-done effect, it will be like what Shai did to Ashravan and the stamp would need to be reapplied periodically.
  4. Narratively, it really shouldn't work but magically, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. There's a WoB on this welp
  5. I don't know. Would those thugs have cared that they could just steal stuff from them without shanking them? All they'd have had to do was cover their faces so their potential victims couldn't identify them. But apparently they were gang thugs or something like that and had been doing their business in that area for a while. It's a bit "hmm" inducing to be told that someone should value the life of someone who was about to kill them and had very likely already killed several people. On the other hand, that was pretty much pre-meditated murder there. And Jasnah was a Knight Radiant and and Alethi Princess, she did have the power to stop them. Though she did argue that the thugs had some connections and would've gotten away without having faced any sort of justice or consequences for their actions. But she planned to kill them from the beginning. And she brought someone else along, putting them in danger and most definitely traumatising them although I'm sure she would call it a reality of life that Shallan would've had to learn eventually anyway and what was it she called it? "applied ethics"? And she did all that to make a point. That kind of thinking is kinda disgusting. It's a visceral reaction. Logically, legally, morally I think you can probably make arguments for both sides. Personally, that was a d-move and if I were Shallan, I'd have chosen to steal her Soulcaster too, even if I hadn't come to steal it in the first place. And then there's the fact that it's not just a scene in a book, it has baggage, it's representative of a lot of things to the readers. You know what? I'll change my mind regarding this stuff as represented by this author, when Kal and Moash and the darkeyes crew get to lay it down to the Lighteyes. Until then, ta-ta!
  6. I don't think Odium would be able to though. We have WoBs that Odium can't just go ahead and kill someone on Roshar (though his agents like the Fused, Thunderclast, etc can), iirc that was part of what's binding him on Braize. And I think this restriction also applies to killing spren and was a part of the reason why he didn't kill the Stormfather (that and Rayse believed that it wouldn't be necessary) or the other Radiant spren. I don't think any of Odium's agents can just go and off Nightwatcher, it wouldn't be a guaranteed kill, though it might be a gambit he'd be willing to take. Plus, Cultivation would probably take action. As for effects, Nightwatcher doesn't seem to be an integral part of Roshar as far as we can see, but we can't see very far. No one expected imprisoning Ba-Ado-Mishram to have such far reaching consequences either. Even if the Nightwatcher was created by Cultivation and not Adonalsium, we know that Odium's Rhythm integrated into the Pure Tones of Roshar, similarly she might've become something more integral. But the Nightwatcher is not a Shard, so Lifelight would still be there, that is Cultivation's and even killing and Splintering Cultivation wouldn't change that, Stormlight still exists after Honor's Splintering. Though Lifelight doesn't seem to have as robust of a distribution system, there might be problems with acquisition, I guess? But that could be mitigated by Navani's research into the Rhythms. The Boon and Banes, I agree, would not be affected, I don't think they're continuously drawing on the Nightwatcher or anything like that. They're probably alterations of the Spiritweb. In the cases we've seen anyway... Lift could be an exception to the continuous drawing but her Connection is to Cultivation I think.
  7. When a magic user in the Cosmere gets access to two different powers, say being Twinborn on Scadrial or being a Surgebinder on Roshar, their two powers may interact and give them a third ability. For Surgebinders, or the Knights Radiant, this seems to be strongly associated with their Order's role just as much as, if not more than, their two Surges: Windrunners get a Connection related power: they have a considerably greater number of and much stronger Squires than any other Order. For Lightweavers, this effect often expresses itself as greater mnemonic abilities. Do note that a Resonance is a separate ability than a combo of two different powers. A Windrunner or Lightweaver or any other Knight Radiant could also combine their two Surges to create various effects. These are not technically Resonances. Resonances are new, separate abilities.
  8. Oh! Good eye! And yeah, this could be a potential use of the Lightweaver Resonance!
  9. Thanks! Def feel like this was the better answer though I don't feel like taking this round, sorry everyone. Feel free to start if you have any clues on your mind!
  10. Granted but he can only maintain his functional immortality by Hemalurgically stabbing all your favorite characters and stealing their lifespans I wish for a banana
  11. Isn't that why almost everyone else on here is here Welcome to the Shard, hope you find the people you met at the event! It's possible that they might not be active on the forums, but there's also the Discord, and there's more people active there. So just in case if you can't find them here: https://discord.gg/17thshard
  12. Leader, female, has access to the Surges, not Navani or Jasnah or Raboniel is it Leshwi?
  13. Happy B'day!

    1. miqius

      miqius

Wow thank you so much!! Hahaha <3. Sorry for the (very) delayed response, I'm not active here right now.

  14. Normally Unsealed implies that the metalmind is also Unkeyed, though I think with the godmetals as per this theory, y'all mean an Unsealed but not Unkeyed. Anyone can use them, but the stored attribute can only be tapped by the person who stored it. But, could be very interesting though, if Atium minds were truly Unsealed, meaning if anyone stored age in one, anyone else could tap it.
  15. I vote them the best written friend-ship on the Cosmere after RoW (sorry Pattern, you're good with Shallan too!) Great work!
  16. It's probably too obvious to be the correct answer but might as well get this out of the way then Is it Jasnah?
  17. New WoB regarding Odium and Autonomy: "double-crossing" is an interesting choice of words
  18. The AoN were still sentient though, iirc, but yeah, not sapient like LoP one WoB in question: Maybe they don't have a Connection to the world? Could be why they're so important to space age Cosmere
  19. The original name for the Stormlight Archive was Dawnshards, iirc. Dawnshards have also been mentioned in the narrative multiple times and played a key role in Ashyn, whose backstory we'll get. So narratively as well, it's very possible that she will. (Besides, I doubt that anyone in a fantasy story really gets an artifact of amazing power without the readers ever getting to see it unleashed)
  20. Oh well, though with the nature of most of this fandom, I don't think this would be a big issue regarding reliability of WoBs
  21. Granted, every time your snap your fingers, one of your fingers disappears (incl and starting from your toes) I wish for the ability to recreate any food that I've ever tasted perfectly
  22. Granted! As payment, your teeth are now hollow. I suggest soft foodstuffs from now onwards! I wish for the ability to summon fashionable clothing
  23. @Vin(Diesel), I thought the same thing about that particular Boon/Bane, lol. The Nightwatcher definitely isn't fair. Her Banes are random, seemingly unconnected to the Boon. So it's possible that they could be mild, could be disproportionate, it could also be that the disproportionate ones are something that seems disproportionate but something that you could adapt to with time. The numb hands and seeing things upside down Banes could support that hypothesis. Cultivation's Boon and Bane can be argued to be more fair. Ultimately they both give you what they think you deserve, Cultivation is just more thematic compared to the spin-the-wheel style of her daughter.
