  1. "Vorin man spellings", that's a good one, lol
  2. I'd argue that it often feels like Feruchemy deteriorates something as a price for boosting it later on, rather than just storing it Well, Brandon does agree that it seems more Preservation
  3. Oh the Bridge 4 have opinions about it, they're not Kaladin's yes-men. Joining in with Adolin and ribbing Kal. Class struggles are so behind them. Also, look at Tenners: they're Lighteyes but like us™, also look at your own eye colour now, Kal. Those are literally things they've said. Oh, I'm getting flashbacks to Elhokar's reaction at the stadium now, and Dalinar's "be a good boy" lecture now. Since the last Shardcast on this topic, I've felt kinda salty that Adolin and Jasnah just get to shank people who made them angry in dark alleys and walk away. Ah, Kelsier and his anger at the Nobles. Because the Pits of Hathsin, fountains running red from executions, little beggar children getting killed for getting too near parties, skaa plantations, the Pits of Hathsin, Elend's "Skaa have the same intelligence level!" were not reasons enough to be angry. He's gonna go Moash too, isn't he *sigh*
  4. Moash / Vyre hard emphasis on the sometimes nowadays
  5. This, so much this:

    Oh and also this:

*starts worrying about Kelsier's future characterization*

  6. It sort of is a different ability when its effect is so different. We've seen Kal use it to manipulate local air pressure. It's just that the idea of things joining together and the wind & storms are probably both Connected to Honor due to how he's Invested in Roshar, I think. So, a lessened, just Physical version of Adhesion utilizes air pressure, and this particular effect can be used to do things other than sticking things together.
  7. I think you're breaking down the terminologies a bit too much. Everything an Invested Art does is not just Physical. There is no effect that is only Physical, they're all effects cascading down from the Cognitive or Spiritual from strength & speed boosts to sandbending. This is just a categorization aid. The effect is Physical.
  8. I meant the phrasing itself: "Periodically throughout Scadrial’s history, a man or woman gained access to vast amounts of power, with incredible effects. The most obvious evidence..." seemed to imply Ascensions aside from the ones which had massive effects
  9. Yes, they are both the legacy of the Knights Radiant. All Shardplates and Shardblades (not counting the Honorblades of the Heralds) came from them. Everything else is spoilers. They're meant to be mysteries! Keep reading and you'll find the answers in the books themselves!
  10. Worldbuilding and magic is one of Brandon's strongest points in writing. They brought me here but the characters are what keep me here.
  11. Sorry, nope! Probably not going to be online for a while!
  12. She and Kaladin shared a camaraderie, an understanding. She and Adolin share a romantic relationship. It's a bit different than friendship or a shared understanding, isn't it? She isn't sharing because she worries. There's a sense of needing to maintain the relationship, of what she thinks that Adolin thinks of her.
  13. Granted, you can now summon Austin Powers I wish for the contents of the White Witch's bottle that could conjure food from snow
  14. I don't think Hoid ever mentioned any grandmothers, maybe Jak did?
  15. Hmm... not Silence's g'ma either, not the Stump either. None of them are clumsy (or apparently had any living friends). Not Wax's g'ma either, I don't think, she's not clumsy. Geranid, no, not clumsy, and she's an Ardent. Adrotagia, Dukar, Fen & Noura can't be described as clumsy either, nor be considered too old. Wait the character themselves aren't necessarily old, is it Lift? Maybe she's too old to be a streetrat, idk
  16. We do see Raysium channeling anti-Voidlight just fine so I wonder how the tones interact with godmetals. I really like that idea, using the Tones to distill the Mists into Lerasium & Atium, I don't think Harmonium itself can be converted though. Brandon, while talking about the godmetals of Shardblades said that the god-alloys were a thing in itself, not just H+C but something new created from both of them. Second Heightening Seeker would be dope! Oh, crossovers can't come fast enough for me!
  17. I was going to say the device could be made by Aons, we do see Aon light sources in Elantris so we know Aon devices are a thing, but the Ire doesn't seem to have discovered how to use Aons off Sel from what little we see of them in Secret History and Stormlight. They don't appear to be using any program (Investiture System) but rather source codes (Connection, Fortune, raw Investiture storage) [sorry if my computer metaphor doesn't work!] but a warning system seems a bit too complex. And Shade specific warning system? It could be based off of the original Threnodite Investiture system itself. But the device itself looks very much like a Rosharan fabrial: From Rysn's interlude in WoK, we know that alerter fabrials use heliodors. Seems strange though. If the Ire had really figured out how to take spren off world, would they really only concern themselves with fabrials? They would take Shardblades and Shardplates, maybe even kidnap Nahel Bond spren. I'm guessing, they somehow figured out an alternative to spren for fabrials. Investiture keyed a certain way somehow or other Cognitive entities perhaps? Seons apparently can be taken off-world, Shades as well, from the broadsheets in era 2. Edit: there are many interesting things in Secret History upon rereads. There's those... attention redirection? wards that could even work on Shards and that it seemed like from an exchange between the Ire members that only one of them could make and is "an exacting art", a different Invested Art perhaps. There was also the interesting fact that Kelsier was still Connected to Ruin after Ascending to Preservation, which could potentially be very interesting.
