  1. A full two thousand years after the Desolations ended. How would he do that? Dawnshards are independent of his power. There are a lot of things implying it, the Dawncities first and foremost, which are noted as being beyond Radiants ability to soulcast But also the shattering of the plains, depending on what caused that and so forth. Why would they not have been?
  2. They do under certain conditions, and the light is actually leaking through the SR, rather than being generated. Why do you say that? That's not entirely true, there can be non-metal solid forms of investiture
  3. Why would you not use them? And Honor said that he didn't see how Humans could beat Odium now that they didn't have them, implying that they were used during the desolations. And Raboniel saying that humans killed fused with sticks.
  4. See my last post. Brandon has said some orders had thousands of members on their own. I don't think they could until Honor's restrictions began to fall away.
  5. They are also limited by the number of people able to live up to the oaths. Dawnshards were used during the Cataclysm of Ashyn, Honor mentions that fighting Odium will be harder without them, the poem of Ista etc. So Roshar at least had one during that time probably multiple.
  6. With a larger population you'll have more radiants and can begin a campaign to simply overrun the singer through sheer numbers. Not to mention the fact that you should never actually lose anyone as with a Dawnshard you could easily wipe out the entirety of the singers forces.
  7. Considering how slowly singer reproduce, not much. The human population would grow faster and they'd begin to expand outward.
  8. They are, but with the amount of metal they used it just worked out to be that large. Three barrels full is a lot.
  9. Feverstone keep was only the orders of Windrunners and Stonewards.
  10. Which Dawnshard is the one that's different from the others? And if they all self-protect why is Survive a Dawnshard unto itself? And what's the Dawnshard that can bind any creature motal or Voidish?
  11. Alright, this is a double post, but it's my thread. My findings: Harmony's perpendicularity is not in the mountains near the southern roughs, such as the Seran range as I had initially thought, but is rather in mountains further south than the roughs, placing them near Lost Doriath. This changes just about everything, as it is hundreds of miles from the basin, and might make an amphibious invasion easier than a land invasion. Now it does render the Seran Range mostly useless as the gap is nearly 25 miles wide and an invading force wouldn't lose much time making for it, but it does place them starting at a much higher altitude. Additionally the Ghostbloods say that the perpendicularity is closely watched, though I'm not sure how much we can trust that as the Set got their jars of identity free investiture from somewhere off world, but it is something to keep in mind. Now the rivers on closer inspection will not prove to be much of a barrier as an invading force has no reason to cross them, Elendel is the economic, political, and industrial capital of the basin, while also holding half the population, any deviation from that goal would be foolish. Needless to say, I'm going to have to rework the entire defensive section. @alder24 I've edited the original post, do you have anything else to add?
  12. Ice 7 probably. Or dry ice, dry ice is fun.
  13. When Odium drives the Everstorm towards Theylanah and then stops it in place the Stormfather says that Odium drove it the same way Honor once drove him.
  14. I can confirm that the copper is not only move valuable than the penny, but that it can cheaply be removed. I do not recommend however as it is highly illegal.
  15. Probably awakening as even the high you get from breaths can kill you.
  16. In the past Honor also commanded the Highstorm and would move it to wherever he needed it, so running out of Stormlight was no a huge problem.
  17. Why not? They are not only possible in their circumstances they are incredibly powerful as well. On the contrary they do work like that, if I wanted to purposely tip scales you'd see a lot more speculation along the lines of "Reforge Honor and have him give you a direct feed of Stormlight" but I do not. You do, we saw that when Dalinar went to visit her, if it's within her power she will give it. She's not a conniving monster trying to screw everyone over. Why would you risk your Bondsmith? This isn't even the same discussion, we should pull this back to the Bondsmith vs. Fullborn one. You can do it, and Jasnah has. Maybe instead of being belligerent you could ask where I source the information from. If you remove their Connection to the Physical realm they die. However you couldn't do that with metalminds as those are an Identity thing rather than Connection. What oaths would that Violate? And if you make a new one then you don't even have to worry about releasing the Fused.
  18. I can never win with you can I? You say something is impossible, I say it's not and then give sources for it, and you add some other condition that wasn't present at the start, along with extra helpings of snark and then act like I'm the one being unreasonable. What more do you want from me? Edit: however for the sake of the argument, they can just make a new oathpact that doesn't bind them to Braize, because their powers are what made it RoW 284
  19. Here's the thing, they get to choose when they leave. So they can die, and then say, alright, time to go, and their free once again. And ther Heralds all outlived TLR, who was thousands of years younger. It was never included. Though I will note, purely for the purpose of pointing out something cool that it is theoretically possible
  20. Creating Stormlight/Lifelight/Towerlight is done via their bond, not as an application of surges. Their spren can make the light naturally and when bonded they allow their Bondsmith to as well. (RoW 795.) So no, they do not need light to start with. So without prep we throw two people with nothing but the clothes on their back into a pit and the Bondsmith wins because they can generate light. With prep the Bondsmith adds themselves to the Oathpact and can be reborn until they win. Bondsmiths can have plate
  21. So the Bondsmith wins the non-prep fight as they can make stormlight. That is not what the OP ment and you know it. In order to have a full metalmind you have to use your powers. Getting stormlight or metals does not.
  22. I unfortunately know too much about humans to trust in their... humanity. If I revealed any powers I'd get abducted by some government agency or another trying to replicate them. Normal life with slightly better quality for me.
  23. It could be that the electrum dilutes the power just enough that it can't break through and view the Spiritual realm, and Duralumin gives it the power it needs to overcome that barrier.
  24. That's not true, when the Stormfather summons the space between speaces for Dalinar's wedding the people inside can move around, tall and interact. So the Bondsmith can move, summon a perpendicularity or stormlight, form Connections etc. In fact given the compression factor they would actually be faster than the Fullborn. Stormlight doesn't require prep, any more than metal vials do, in order to have Shardplate they would have to be fourth ideal.
