  1. I doubt that mid term storage could make shardblade resistant armor. Filling a ring took Sazed weeks WoA 484. At most you could get a bracer, it would take life time storage to get armor. And even then, the radiant would just switch to a shardmace, and combined with the power of plate kill you with blunt force trauma. Even steel compounding can't maintain that speed forever, and they lack the ability to crack plate at all, let alone break it, even with their coinshot abilities.
  2. I doubt that there is a single twinborn no matter what combo that can overcome a single oath 4 radiant, regardless of order. Plate is basically invulnerable to anything any twinborn other than pewter compounder, and those have no way to survive shardblades, not to mention surges.
  3. Fortune is future sight, not luck. And you can't move or think at the speed of light, going faster than sound would be a once in several year event, and only for a few seconds at that.
  4. Intent is more like spin it magnetism. This is part of a very long WoB but here's the relevant part. The reason the manifestations are different is the same reason sound waves can round corners but light waves can't. The nature of intent makes it so Investiture forms specific ways. Or if you mean why don't shards just give their followers all the powers, the answer is that it expends their power in ways they don't want to do.
  5. An elantrian with enough prep time, or someone with a Dawnshard could do it.
  6. Dead Plate allows you to easily do with one hand what two/three men would struggle to do. WoK 415. Flared pewter only triples strength Shardplate is much stronger than pewter.
  7. Full Radiants can just open a perpendicularity whenever you need stormlight.
  8. ... Worrying that a compounder would run out of attribute is like worrying that a coinshot would run out of pushes. The only difference is that a compounder can store up their ability and use it all at once. When allomancers burn awakened metal the only different thing that happens is they get their breath back, the metal isn't burned more efficiently
  9. White sand probably.
  10. Aluminum as cord says. And how do you think the spren get their stormlight? They have to go through the horneaters. And spren charge off worlders for passage on their ships, directions, the resources they manifest etc.
  11. Brandon says otherwise, see @alder24's post
  12. Any shard could in theory power, or make any magic system. So I think it's more a matter of the magic systems they make being the easiest, or most natural state for their particular intent to form a magic system. And the reason that highly invested objects/people struggle to leave their system is due to Connection(RoW 188)
  13. Burn time is equivalent to the amount of Investiture drawn out. The reason leeching takes longer is that it has to burn through the Investiture before it can destroy the metal.
  14. We saw the pits in SoS, and they weren't generating Atium.
  15. Compounding isn't multiplicative, which is what we have been saying. If you have a piece of pewter, that you could burn allomantically for an hour and stored a days strength in it, when burned you would get a days strength, plus an hours worth of feruchemical strength, equal in power to allomantic strength, not ten days worth of strength.
  16. Wooden shields block coins, as seen by lurchers, I doubt plate would even notice.
  17. For the most part it's there for the same reason the Dawnshard section is, despite Scadrial not having one. It's to compare it to the world's that have things like category 5 hurricanes that circle the world every couple of days. And while things like technology and Investiture make geography less relevant than say during the middle ages, it is still(to my mind) a factor worth considering, if that makes sense. Is that the difference? Honestly I've just thought they were two words for the same thing. ... I do not have that. Thank you, that is an egregious oversight on my part.
  18. This is kind of an extension of a RoW problem, but I've noticed recently that some characters(Marasi and Navani) get to the end of the book and suddenly develop self-doubt, without it affecting any other point in the book, only for them to immediately get over it.
  19. SA 5 is the finale of this arc. 6-10 could be considered a different series.
  20. No problem, we all make slips like that
  21. Bro what? That hardly condemns anyone.
  22. Distance doesn't matter Shallan just didn't complete the process of summoning, more of half-willing it to her than anything. And we know that how?
  23. Syl zips away as ribbons of light all the time.
