  1. I'm going back and forth. What bronze stores is wakefulness which would imply that when you tap it you don't get sleepy. But on the other hand when you fill bronze you go into a coma like state so it is more sleep. I'd guess that the your first idea is correct. You always have a good night's sleep. But I cant think of any definitive evidence.
  2. This is freaking amazing given you have absolutely nothing to build off of!
  3. @Ookla the Prolific I'd love to see your take on truthwatchers and elsecallers if you find the time. I just finished starsight and I really like your takes on dustbringers! I'd also like to hear your opinion on my pet theory for the 4th windrunner ideal "I will forgive myself for those I fail to protect" but that can probaly wait till you put out your predictive windrunner oaths.
  4. I feel like the question here is how do you cheat becoming a shard. To become a true vessel like Kelsier, Vin, or Sazed you need to have Connection (artificial or natural) if you want to become a psuedo shard like the LR this overcharge of investure would probaly work.
  5. Well, as I keep seeming to mention, I like zinc. A and F are both awesome powers and they're powers that synchronize and I can compound. Options for the third set that I'd rotate accordingly would be A-pewter, A-steel, or A-Bronze
  6. I assume your talking about the potential downsides of compounding. That is a concern but not a huge one to me. Miles appeared to be able to entirely negate the side effects by constantly tapping and zinc is a lot easier to get a hold of then gold. But yeah being braindead without zinc is a scary thought.
  7. Double Zinc and Double Steel for unlimited mental and physical speed plus two of the most useful allomantic metals. For a pair I'd want A zinc and brass a quad I'd pick the mental. F pair I have go with . . . zinc and brass, and the mental quadrant. I just really like zinc ok!
  8. So I've seen a lot of assumptions that radients don't have adverse effects when touching plate. But have we ever seen a radient touch dead plate?
  9. Wow! Uh . . . you win.
  10. There's a really good thread on this I'll try and find it. The consensus was yes you can. The main argument is that the center of the chest isn't the center of gravity, so it's a matter of perception not gravity. And perception can be changed. Here it is.
  11. A Nicrosal compunder wielding nightblood is a good start. As far as radients, I'd like to see skybreakers edgedancers and elsecallers as part of that team. A mistborn would be very helpful and probably a powerful awakener to throw gobs of lifeless at him.
  12. This is truth. And this great advice!
  13. Ambition becomes determination
  14. I'd give it a read I enjoyed it a lot, just don't take it too seriously.
  15. I can't dismiss what you feel. I felt a lot of the same things. After that chapter I put the book down, literally cried myself to sleep, and didn't pick it it back up for a week. But for me Oathbringer will always be a story of hope. Since the slave wagon scene I new Kaladin suffered from clinical depression because I have some personal experience with it. And if he can get through Hell I can get through it too.
  16. Shoot, I hadn't even considered that that makes two aethers that need changes. But on a second thought the actual power of night, self teleportation, is still solid. We have the much larger problem of the major threat needing to change. Yet another thought what if he just scratches the story entirely. So much has been cannibalized that it would probably be easier to start with a clean slate. Keep the setting the same, change the magic a little, but just start over otherwise. New characters, new threat, etc.
  17. He's definitely going to have the honor of a paladin (mechanically I prefer fighter), but I always struggle to make them seem human as opposed to a "good person robot." Do going have any ideas for quirks or vices?
  18. In our latest State of the Sanderson we learned that Brandon is still planning an Aether Trilogy for the Cosmere. This is a big deal and very exciting to me. However for this to work we would need some major changes both to plot and to the magic. Most people who have read the book recognize the similarities in the "protoshards" to ruin and preservation and amberite works very similarly to shardblade and plate. The big one for me is the ending it just falls together way to easily. What major (or minor) changes would you want to see before it gets published?
  19. I'm building a dnd character around this lovely illustration. I have him all figured out mechanically but I'm struggling with his personality. Obviously he adheres to the codes but what minor personality traits would you expect to see in one of Dalinar's officers? P.S. sorry if this is the wrong place to post this
  20. One spren cannot split into two objects, we have several WoB on the subject, and the popular theory is that the formation of plate has something to do with the lesser cousin spren. Honor to Wind, Cryptic to Creation, Cultivation to Life and what not. Here's a link explaining the major pros and cons of the theory.
  21. But the Skybreakers didnt betray their oaths.
  22. The more I think about it I get the feeling a shardarrow might be the least effective ranged shard weapon because of the size of an arrow, a point@Ookla the Prolific brought up. Why not a shard javelin, boomerang, heck even a frisbee. It would be light enough you could throw it as far as you want.
  23. As anyone who's been here a while knows we all like to talk about shardplate. I've been rereading WoK and a line stuck to me. During the chasmfiend hunt after Dalinar gets knocked down by its tail. "As the sky spun, something seemed to right as if the Plate itself new which way was up." This is a stretch I know, but it could add to the argument of living plate. Furthermore, it might suggest is plate belonged to a Windrunner. So I ask y'all, is there something here or do I just spend too much time around y'all? Edit: interesting note, the italics are in the text I didnt add them.
  24. Hm hadn't considered that it might not be lethal. This might work for a short range.
  25. It's true you'd only have one arrow, but that arrow would have the same properties as a Shardblade so it would just blast through ranks of soldiers going through armor and flesh like nothing.
