  1. Sooooo, I almost died. I was doing 6 backhand springs to a back pike. I stopped halfway through. I landed on my upper back/neck and rolled over my neck. I slid a few feet on my back, then rolled over my neck again.

AH OH NO THAT SOUNDS TERRIFYING

but the fact that you were doing that in the first place is extremely impressive. I used to take tumbling. I got my back-handspring then stopped. Now the most I can do is a cartwheel or roundoff.

I love snow! It's been snowing here since Christmas Eve too, but its nowhere near melting. It's about 1.5 feet deep now.

Yes really I have never seen snow in my life.

  3. We don’t necessarily know if Destroy is a Dawnshard. I thing the only one we have confirmed is Change. Nightblood is so powerful because it keeps absorbing more and more investiture. More and more, it gets investiture from everything it cuts.
  4. Y’all don’t feel the strongest desire to know what the top 10 fails of all time are? Or what will happen if a super hot substance meets a super cold substance?
  5. Brandon has confirmed that Odium has been weakened by his previous encounters with Shards. Between killing Ambition, Devotion, Dominon, and Honor, he isn’t strong enough anymore. He would need to have a preexisting upper hand before he could engage in another battle. When he killed before, he did have an upper hand which allowed him to win, but not without cost. When fighting Ambition, Mercy was there to help him. He pitted Devotion and Dominion against each other, then stepped back and let them do it. With Honor however he just went straight in, and so even though the nature of his Shard let him win, he was very badly damaged and bound by Honor.
  6. Please offer your opinion on the timeless debate. Who would win in a fight, a Lerasium Mistborn or a fourth Ideal Radiant? Putting my comments in a spoiler because I think you want Chaos to guess what it is Also Chaos, what do you think of things that can’t be proven? The Twin Prime Conjecture, that there is an infinite number of twin primes (3 and 5, 11 and 13, 17 and 19). Or the Collatz Conjecture, that if you pick any number, and if it's even, divide it by two and if it's odd, multiply it by three and add one. Eventually you will reach one and then be stuck in an infinite loop of 4, 2, 1, 4, 2, 1. It is possible there is a number out there that would create its own loop, but we might never find it.
  7. I’ve been snowboarding for like 5 years now. Yesterday, I decided to teach myself to ski. I took my sister’s boots and skis, then went out to the slopes. I asked my dad to go down 10 yards then stop, and he did. After that I just… left. Within an hour and a half I could successfully do greens, blues, and terrain parks without crashing. I would have done some blacks, but the lifts for those had super long lines.

So I can now say that I know how to wakeboard, water ski, snowboard, and snow ski.

  11. I will say again, Jasnah did nothing legally wrong, but morally and ethically it is wrong to seek out a situation that could lead you to need to defend yourself to the death. But you are right, Jasnah did not take any action that forced the men to do anything.
  12. I’m not saying she forced them to attack. I’m saying she knowingly walked into an area with men that already had their minds set on theft and murder. She then showed wealth that, scientifically, releases chemicals in the human brain that will cause people to act more irrationally. No, she didn’t force them to do anything. But it was still wrong. That was the whole point of her doing this, to show that legality is one thing, and then everyone has their own system of ethics and morals. This thread is reinforcing her point over and over. Everyone is different.
  13. Well that’s the thing, it kind of doesn’t. It does, but in different ways. If you have something you want to say, there is some country in the world that allows it. In Europe many countries make it illegal to use Nazi symbols or use anti-Semitic speech. But in the US, you technically can without getting charged (if you start to get violent or damage property, then that is illegal, but we are only discussing the act of speaking right now).
  14. Ah yes, this is the core of every argument related to rules, in my opinion. What point is too far. What is that magic spot. Honestly, I don’t know. Humans can’t know, because everyone is different so one rule might be perfect for some but not for others. It is like protecting yourself from danger. If I said jump in a pit of toxic waste, you would say no because that is dangerous. If I said skydive, you might listen or you might not. There is a chance of injury or death but there is also a chance you would be fine. If I said drive in a car you would almost definitely do it… but there is a chance of death while doing it. At what point did the odds change so that you were okay with doing that? That analogy makes sense in my mind, but I don’t know if it will to other people
  15. Yes, speech is a human right. So is safety. If abuse of one of our rights infringes on the rights of others, there is something wrong.
  16. Could you explain what you mean by that? I’m not sure I understand what you are saying in reference to giving up your humanity…
  17. She put herself in danger, showing wealth with the knowledge it would put her in harm’s way. This may be legal, but in my mind it is wrong. The concept of our freedom is not true freedom. We give up certain rights, such as yelling fire in a crowded room, and in return we get certain rights and privileges that people elsewhere in the world don’t have.
  18. I think she should have killed the men, as was her human and legal right in that situation to protect herself. She should not have put herself in that situation though, that is an abuse of the law and is a way of intentionally doing wrong without getting in trouble for it. There are always exceptions for laws. Freedom of speech doesn’t let you yell fire in a crowded room. The right to protect yourself doesn’t let you walk around intentionally trying to get attacked so you can harm other humans.
