  1. The higher the score, the more 'Alley cat' that order is. Windrunner on the bottom makes sense as they are the protect order- guard dog- and Lightweaver at the top makes sense as well for the most alley cat of them all. I think the rest of the orders fit as well, with edgedancer and stoneward protecting, we can see from Lift's oaths that this makes sense, and Dustbringer and Willshaper make sense to be the Alley cats. Ohh I had them backwards.
  2. I am glad that Brandon likes to listen more then speak. Sure not speaking can certainly cause harm but I also worry about what well meaning people do when they don't take the time to educate themselves.
  3. Welcome! Also great first addition! Maybe double check this. They seem almost exactly opposite what I would expect them to be.
  4. I have always assumed that since Adonalsium is generally portrayed as both benevolent and deific the intent of Devotion represents a creator's love for their creation. In fact their is even a word for this agape.
  5. Sound reasoning. We do not actually know that the two orders without any will be at all related.

    Hello

    Welcome!
  7. TAKE THE TEST FIRST
  8. Did you check your spam folder? Also welcome to the shard.
  9. Welcome!
  10. Yeah something like that I was simplifying. Great name BTW.
  11. I know a few more Wiccan(terrible name for such a great character) is also Jewish, as are Legion, Iceman, and Polaris but I do agree the lack of representation is anoying.
  12. I have my copy open. OK so you are right it is a Dustbringer... Ohhh your right these soldiers glow as well. Good catch. Oh you read Mote as well? They are free thinkers. They like to find better ways of doing things. I think silicon valley entrepreneurs. I think I am going with Truthwatchers and Edgedancers as the two without squires. As we see from Lift Edgedancers are more "slippery" they move around, they help people, they enjoy helping people, but they tend to be fairly self reliant. Truthwatchers seem more like theorists to me. You get your basics in seminar or lecture classes and then you read for more advanced stuff and you start writing to test your own theories. You might collaborate or not with others of your profession and both are fine.
  13. Also we have limited information on what was going on in Roshar during those days. We also don't know much about how the war started or how the oathpact works. The everstorm is a new thing. Odium is shackled to Braize by the combined powers of Honor and Cultivation. He is also sort of omnipresent. There are only nine unmade and 10 honorblades. That was a choice. The Heralds are people with limited capabilities and free will. They chose to tap out. There are only nine unmade. Honor's CS is the stormfather. The one left behind. The memory.
  14. Insert catchy one liner that toots own horn. Also high five fellow Shadowcat fan! I collect cool cosmere theories on this thread.
  15. Welcome! Eventually the spren should gain enough self awareness to be able to explain what is happening to the child and the child should eventually figure out the scientific method. Also Brandon wrote a series starting with this book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcatraz_Versus_the_Evil_Librarians which contains a character like you describe(sort of) whose talent is breaking things.
  16. Alright this one apparently is next. Brandon is updating us so I have to update my theories. Info on elsecallers below spoiler for length. This part Indicates that Elsecallers have verity in their oaths centered around self improvement. This leads me to the conclusion that like the Windrunners and the Skybreakers both groups have similar ideologies that look quite different(much to Jasnah and Shallan's mutual chagrin). I thinking running with this parallel could actually be quite helpful. Windrunners and Skybreakers are both ultimately devoted to peace(as I see it anyway). Both soldiers and law enforcement are keepers of the peace in one way or another. Elsecallers and Lightweavers are about both self progression. I also think in both cases the impulse for this protection comes from their reaction to some kind of trauma. According to Pattern Shallan dealing with trauma by lying is what drew him to her. I think from her prologue that we can see that Jasnah deals with trauma by logic and analysis(we also know that inkspren prefer stable logical people). This could inform a more accurate second ideal. Something along the lines of "thought against impulse?" For a third ideal I think a general fairness principle still applies. "Treat all fairly including self?" I actually think the fourth ideal still holds. I think an Elsecaller should look for the best solution not just a workable one and that doing so is very much in keeping with Brandon's statement of their ideology. My fifth ideal was always tentative. I am actually drawing a blank for now. I will look forward to your comments. As an aside I don't think so. They seem a bit too orderly for that.
  17. Also Lightweaver.
  18. He already has his body though. He has for some time now. The vision from the coin is centuries old.
  19. Possible certainly. What do you mean by really comes back?
  20. Beat you to it. Seems pretty conclusive my way.
  21. A disciple does not have to be a squire. They could be lower level Dustbringers or even just trainees. I do agree that our Thaylen guru must happen.
  22. I am pretty sure that that is an Edgedancer and none of the soldiers manifest radiant powers. We know from the books that Windrunners, Skybreakers, and Lightweaver's have squires. This new Bondsmith blurb indicates that they too gain squires. I personally believe Jasnah though Shallan had manifested as her squire which would indicate that Elsecallers as well gain squires. I also agree that Stonewards probably have squires as well(their focus on comradery and helping others). This WoB uses the plural indicating at least two. I don't think it makes sense for the Willshapers to be squireless. The work many of them do would require a lot of input from others and teamwork(like the DIY and design communities both often work in groups especially on their best work). They are also right between Elsecaller and Stoneward on the chart and I believe both of them to have squires. This leads me to believe that the Truthwatchers, Edgedancers, and Dustbringers are the most likely candidates.
  23. We don't know where those prophesies came from.
