Armies are pretty hard to keep secret but I would not put it past the Shin.

Dar returned from his appointment with a smile on his face. His request had finally made its way through the Azish bureaucracy and he was approved for a transfer to the new unified scholarship team working on fabrial lift construction. Finally a chance to exercise his talents in an interesting field. He almost ran back to his rooms. He could not wait for his next assignment to begin. "Why?" whispered a voice "Why change?" Dar froze. I'm going mad he thought. Its all those legal documents not an ounce of creativity or ingenuity to to them. He could practically hear the his own voice listing off the protocol for authorizing none native guards for food aid in foreign nations. "The authorization of any military force for the use of protecting food aid in foreign countries who report to commands not native to the country or countries who are receiving food aid must be given by the country or countries concerned along with the support of the majority of the member states of the coalition as given by the heads of state in those countries or authorized representatives. Should the governments of countries believe that such aid poses a security risk to their own nation they may apply to the coalition for recognition of that status which shall be passed by the simply majority of the heads of state or authorized diplomats of all member nations presently of the coalition by simply majority vote. The purpose..." The chip he was using for light went dark. "Great." Dar mumbled and got out another one.

My point was that their is little even a radiant can do against a well organized ambush by extraordinarily skilled opponents. And we must remeber that that knife did put her out of commission for a while. If her enemies had known what they were doing they would have kept stabbing her while she was down finishing her off.

Dar sighed going over his notes one more time. His work growing steadily more tiresome. He had always had trouble grinding away at a single problem but at least when his interest was engaged he could focus. His lack of sleep was not helping either nor fact that the false Alethi betray had doubled his workload. Why had his masters become so spooked that they required additional safeguards on top of the already rigorous ones they had had in the beginning? A swirling pattern of light appeared at the edge of his vision. "What?" Dar asked turning around. No one answered and several gave him looks of annoyance. Dar sighed. He realy needed to get more sleep he thought returning to his work.

And when Odium stops the highstorms in an attempt to crumple the tower stoneward Kadash shall keep it together by shear force of will!
-
But we can't actually do anything with our conclusions either so by that logic this entire thread is useless. My point was just that what you may consider fair and objective others might consider unfair and subjective.
-
You are probably correct although watching a radiant try and keep it together by strength and stromlight would be awesome.
-
I know but why put it on your character sheet with no explanation?

Tea is expensive. Do you want a cookie?
-
The only problem is that I and my fellow lightweavers would tell you that their is no such thing as objectivity. Truth is subjective so arriving at something that is universally fair is impossible.

Cookie?

This does imply that as a future plot point whatever is maintaining the tower's tension could be sabotaged and the entire tower could break
-
This is entirely reasonable but others may disagree. For example early guns were often ditched in favor of swords as swords were more accurate and did not require difficult reloading. As to terrain assuming that it is an ambush what exactly is either party going to do? Their is no skill involved in cutting off the head of a sleeping opponent although I doubt Kaladin could do it. If the two of them are leading armies against each other and they meet on the battlefield I am going to swing the fight Kaladin's way as he is better at small scale field tactics al la taking a brightlord off his throne. Kaladin would get somone behind Jasnah and she would die with a knife in her back same as anyone else. If the two of them face each other alone on an open field then Kaladin would have to be extraordinarily careful due to the large variety of attacks Jasnah can use against him. He would have to get clever in order to win. If they fight in Shadesmar my money is on Jasnah no question. Kaladin does not know how to use the sea of beads. Dito if they are fighting in the ruins of an old city. Jasnah could see Kaladin but the inverse is not necessarily true.

What do you mean assigned? Then what happened to it?
-
Could be either or some combination thereof.

Perhaps the stone had its density increased at the lower levels via soulcasting or Cohesion to make the tower hold itself up?
-
Yes but whose investiture was in it? Honor was not on Roshar before the Shattering.
-
Perhaps soulcasting is so difficult that the amount of stormlight it takes to do a major transformation is to much for a single person to hold. When doing something minor Jasnah can use the unassigned stormlight contained in her body but for something major she cannot hold the stormlight and draws it directly out of the gemstone which is required to be of the correct type. Just a theory but it does make sense. Care to poke holes in it?

Thank you she only turns things into crystal stone and smoke before the perpendicularity opens. So she only uses three essences.
