    BoM death ID

In BoM chapter 15 Suit tries to distract Wax by telling him to look into the one casualty of the train robbery. Why does Suit think that this will distract Wax? Is there something significant about this person?
  2. You trap a Spren in a gemstone. You bond it there. I see no difference between fabrails and spren symbiosis.
  3. Sadees committed repeated genocide. He died while still at war trying to conqueror the world. From what I can tell he succeeded in overthrowing the previous government and had a number of successful conquests. He thought himself invincible and decided to keep going. Thankfully he died while on campaign. Bringing in Stormfather visions sounds a bit too complex for my taste.
  4. The first one is generally attributed to be the silent gatherers themselves. They do in fact kill children to save the world.
  5. Mistings can only exist on Scadrail or people with scadrian ancestry because of the extra bit of Preservation's investiture that is in them. That would not give you alomancy though. That is Preservation's magic system. You would need Lerasium.
  6. Aviars do a lot of other things. With Southern tec you could make it so that you could do those things(atium sight for example). On Roshar you just need the right fabrial. On scadirail Alomancy is much more specified.
  7. Water can stick around at 90C but I would not want to live there.
  8. You can theoretically convert different types of investiture into each other. This means that yes there is a way to convert stormlight into breath(at least in theory). You could also theoretically turn it into preservation's investiture and fuel alomancy with it. However In Jasnah's words(that are a little rude but she is Jasnah)"ask a useful question." Just sucking in stormlight will not increase your hightening. No type of Mistling(as far as we know) could use it either.
  9. Nothing except many thousands of years of service saving innumerable lives and making the world a better place. You don't need to use all the oathgates at full capacity all the time. However if there were just double the number of oathgates team Radiant would be considerably better off assuming a relatively even distribution. Gemstones also break with soulcasting. The number in circulation is based on economics and can very greatly as needed. What makes you think this? Also in ancient times the Radiants might have had something of a monopoly on them as they are the only people who can use them effectively. We don't know that Honor created the Dawncities. What the Dawncities were or are or how they were created(although the books do hit at involves cymatics). My only point is that there must be a reason to only make 10 and the ones given so far do not satisfy me. This leads me to the conclusion that those explanations are incorrect. I could of course be wrong(it has happened once or twice before) but that is my current reasoning.
  10. Swear the ideal!
  11. You missed Old magic and these are only the ones we have seen. He also says it depends on how you decide to count them so this is still an arbitrary distinction. I would also like to point out that magic on Roshar is extremely complicated and I am not sure we can count on Brandon to get everything in a WoB context. Still if you want to use that distinction those are all based on boding. Apparently that is how the planet was built.
  12. Copper compounding has been repeatedly RAFOed. However I believe that somewhere we had a good theory page going. Might want to check that out if you can find it. Welcome.
  13. That seems really arbitrary. Considering that you do count fabrails. When? In what context?
  14. I kind of want devotion back in his feat TBH. Dominion can stay splintered but benevolent shards seem to be things we should all want more of.
  15. Not sure if that would work but it would be interesting.
  16. Lift is an intro to Cultivation's magic system. We have seen singer bonds. All of these seem to require a bond of some kind.
  17. I am referring to the WoB where he says that you can recharge sand on any planet provided photons from Taldain's star are hitting it.
  18. Roshar magics just seem to work that way.
  19. Granted... By hemalurgic spikes. You are now open to influence by anyone with shardic or soothing powers. I wish I knew the location of earth's perpendicularity.
  20. We don't know if you choose to become a shade or what shades really are or why Nazh reveres them. Also sticking around as a CS not being able to influence much but still having died and watching your loved ones die too does not sound like an enviable existence.
