It is only relevant because of Wayne though it has no plot significance.

Why slatrification works and why my way should be truth
Karger replied to Ark1002's topic in White Sand
Except we don't really know the full details about how this works and also the potential for unlimited sand mastery annoys people. -
Conservation of momentum applies with f-iron. Tapping slows you down.

Dalinar is bonded to the stormfather who has the power of Honor left to him. The Nightwatcher is no relation to Honor but Cultivation's child and we have no idea about the sibiling. Hers is the power of growth not bonds.

I think personally that this is a reference to the speed at which they grow and the fact that the body can produce hard stuff.

They are not directly contradictory. The investiture could use raw materials to help it manifest appropriately. Secondly the first WoB does not make sense from a chemical perspective. The creation of a diamond requires extream enough conditions to sterilize. This means that any biological mechanism should destroy itself.

They are in fact exactly what they are said to be but they do not form naturally. Excess investiture in the rosharan system appears as gemhearts in animals on Roshar.

The one individual used to be Honor himself. With his death that power passes on to the next person to hold it. That person happens to be Dalinar.

Odium according to reliable sources is sealed to Braize by the powers of Honor and Cultivation

I actually think that they are native and that the entire island had a specialized purpose like the purelake seems to.

Oh. None of the above center around gay men. I was just posting LGBQ centered books generally.

The Black Tides of Heaven is good although it has some aspects I found a bit odd for lack of a better word. The entire Wayfarer series is awesome and has a great audible version if you like those. The first one is a long way to a small angry planet. Empress of Forever. Good overall I thought some of the plot was a bit heavy handed.

I can recommend you some authors who write some good SF and fantasy about well developed LGBTQ characters but as a person who did not know that trans people existed until high school(thanks for that American educational system) I do see your point.

That is a fair point but I also remember him as the nice one, the handsome one, and the rebel and he is only a minor character. Imagine a main character who had the same amount of work done on them.

In terms of Mistborn era 1 I saw Elend getting booted as pretty realistic. Vin's rampage as you call it was also pretty in character for her and in all honesty it was not really necessary(Vin could have kidnapped Cet at the beginning of the book and then everything would have been fine). I think the point of Elend loosing his crown was to point out that there is no perfect solution to government and just doing the right thing does not necessarily imply a good outcome.

It borrows from confucianism and taoism but I do not think it has a real world corespondent.

I personally would prefer that the cosmere not have any character who I will then remember as "the gay one." Inclusion is important but I do not think that it should be done while at the same time reinforcing stereotypes.

Also (in my personal opinion) Renarin and to be fair Brandon says he is trying to avoid writing the "gay male lead."

Got it. I see a surprising amount information on arcanun or WoBs that is not on coppermind pages and yet is well known to sharders so I thought I would ask.

Not exactly. Honor's power is the power of binding and promises and he used it to bind Odium to Braize(we think the whole way this works has not really been explained). The way I think about it Honor stated something like "You shall never be free." and a result Odium was stuck. Dalinar has access to Honor's power(or most of what is left of it) so he can let Odium out if he chooses to.
